  1. Of course he did. He probably showers with it.
  2. White looks to have the better mob, for mine
  3. I just cannot see this vision that people seem to have of footy losing some sort of war to soccer. How is it ever going to happen? Perhaps I lack your big picture vision but I preferred the game the way it used to be, it was tougher (now cleaned up to appease the mothers) clubs had tradition (unlike Freo, Port etc) players were more loyal because everything wasn't about money, the draw was more even because it wasn't all about TV rights etc etc etc It just seems that every decision gets made on the basis of what makes the AFL more cash, even if it is to the detriment of the game or to the distinct disadvantage of the minnow clubs PS yes the AFL gave us Tom Scully, but they gave Hawthorn Franklin and Hodge, Collingwood Thomas and Pendlebury etc etc and they got their flags out of it, Carlton, Richmond etc have all been just as gifted as we
  4. That's exactly right. I don't think i'm talking garbage when I say T.Scully may well be the best player in the comp in a few years, and by extension I don't think it is entirely unreasonable to suggest that his retention or his loss could be the difference between premiership or runner-up for us. So if the AFL gives these clubs a gift basket that ultimately robs us of a flag you can bet I'm against it.
  5. I would have thought the fact that his late father having a strong involvement in NT/indigenous footy might have helped get Ozzie a guernsey, perhaps it is fitness as suggested above Bennell is underrated
  6. thank you for actually posting some CONTENT on the topic, unlike some others I believe the VFL was struggling a bit when national expansion started happening, and yes, it helped bring it back to life However, the situation NOW is that it is NOT struggling - the current model seems perfectly sustainable All that's going to happen is that smaller clubs like us and North will get shafted, beginning with this player poaching
  7. staggering try again Q. Please explain to me how the game is in any need of "betterment" when it has 600,000 members, 7 million attendances and extremely lucrative sponsorship/broadcasting deals, getting stronger and stronger after 150 years. What exactly would happen if we did not keep expanding
  8. That's just money too though. You are talking about it as if it is a non-financial motivation but it is just more greed. In fact your whole list is just all about money except point 6, which is about 5% of the overall consideration
  9. Do you ever actually address the content of someone's post when you disagree with them? Q. Please explain to me how the game is in any need of "betterment" when it has 600,000 members, 7 million attendances and extremely lucrative sponsorship/broadcasting deals, getting stronger and stronger after 150 years. What exactly would happen if we did not keep expanding Thanks in advance for an actual response to the above content instead of the 'you wouldn't understand' that you normally trot out when you have nothing in the bank
  10. I can't believe anyone could say that Why act as if the AFL is some dwindling organisation? It has over 600,000 members, over 7 million through the gate annually and TV rights/sponsorship deals that are beyond belief lucrative It's pure greed and it may well put the kybosh on our supposed dynasty
  11. if any of those 3 get even slightly hurt I will be severely [censored] off beyond consolation.. all are important and brilliant to watch
  12. what are you talking about? This is obviously a huge issue with plenty of merit to it whether or not the particular rumour is accurate, the greater discussion about our young guns being poached is a very real and frightening topic well worthy of discussion
  13. I recall it was well known amongst anyone with even the slightest clue that he would be wearing red and blue right now if we had a Dick Pratt, but we don't/didn't we also didn't have the connections to have his girlfriend appointed 'face of myer' for whatever obscene amount that was worth on top of the rest of it can't believe anyone is even questioning this really, what do you think that VISY ambassador shite is all about, have you been paying attention?
  14. I've read some garbage from you but that pretty much takes the cake one goes to the worst known cheating scum club there is and the other leaves the club where his name is as big as the club itself and goes to the latest soul-less franchise to collect spoons and be supported by nobody money, money, money and more money
  15. Judd and Ablett are the 2 best players in the comp and they both walked out on their original clubs purely and simply for more money Brock McLean used to also love saying he would never leave the Demons Anyone that thinks Scully, Frawley, Watts, Trengove, Morton even Grimes and Jurrah aren't all in danger of leaving us is absolutely kidding themselves Their whole careers all 17 other clubs will hunt and lure them and that's just the way it is
  16. based on what exactly? the fact he is a better player? why do you think he has been voted in, it's because he has the respect of his peers as a leader.. but that doesn't matter does it you should just name your 6 best players in the leadership group
  17. I'm sure if it explain it to my boss like that he will understand
  18. It's just that unlike Scully/Grimes/Trengove he wasn't a leader as a junior, and you never seem to hear him mentioned in that breath by anyone at the club. Some blokes are just guns and aren't meant to be leaders, like Sylvia
  19. Morton can already take genuine contested overhead grabs, we've seen about a dozen of them. If he bulks up he could easily play key position for mine, he is a lovely set shot also
  20. exactly what I was going to say, plus Trengove and Watts would have to be huge contenders also, all four of these kids were talked up as potential leaders at the time of their drafting. In about 3 years when Green gives up the ghost it will be an extremely interesting appointment.. if I had to bet I would say Scully will be the one
  21. just cast only diminutive actors for all the other parts!
  22. that anyone could put any importance in the NAB cup whatsoever since the year the Blues won it and went on to collect the spoon
  23. the discussion is about whether this scheduling is a wise move by the club, what are you on about? I am not going to Casey if there is not a football match there, that's for damn sure
  24. I hadn't seen that Venue is fairly unimportant It is now THURSDAY MORNING Great work MFC look forward to about 5 people turning up I look forward to another month before seeing them in the flesh
