  1. as mentioned above -the side has played brilliant periods in most games, like Davey said our problem is stringing four together -supporter expectations have clearly skyrocketed to the point that our wins are classified as irrelevant and the fact we have had brilliant quarters like against the Hawks and North people say 'yeah but they just let us play like that', it signifies the bar has been raised -right now, we are at a 50% win ratio which is roughly what we are aiming to be at the end of the year for a fourth consecutive ladder climb. No side is out of our reach if we can put together 4 quarters like the ones against Adelaide 4 qtrs, WC qtr2 Hawks qtr2, North qtr1 and of course the half against GC where we kicked 102 points -we've been shafted with injuries
  2. Thank you for reminding me this place isn't 100% muppet
  3. yet you have not at any stage formed anything close to a refutation of anything i've said beyone 'nah youre wrong' do you see the difference between that and the post i have just made, it's called DISCUSSION people come here for discussion not pig-headed, ill-informed dismissal of arguments, keep it to yourself if ou have nothing of substance to say
  4. hey mr comprehension where is the part of your post that addresses not just prevention but recovery of injuries, what about facilities, it is about not having money and its correlation with the injury list for example you have 'crossed-off' an ankle sprain as an injury that could possibly have any responsibility with the medical department, how the hell do you know if the player was conditioned correctly and given the right advice and that after the injury he was properly treated/advised/provided with equipment/medication to ensure quicker recovery YOU DON'T KNOW DO YOU? You are just spouting off without even thinking. It might make you feel better to think that our financial situation doesn't put us at a massive disadvantage in every aspect of the competition but only a fool would bury their head that deep in the sand. The reason I pose this question in the first place is because I happen to know a young bloke at another club who was completely mismanaged with injury, as a result his foot is ruined and he has been delisted. The medicos did not do their jobs and totally stuffed him up, so I know for a FACT that there IS A DIFFERENCE in the way certain medicos perform, so what do you think of that genuis no amount of garbage you write can change the FACT that we have had an absurdly poor run with injuries for many consecutive years and the FACT that we happen to have less money than most clubs and this is unlikely to be a coincidence. You seem to be sticking to your basic contention which is that we are just unlucky. Is that seriously all you have got? btw, if i was to respond in the same name-calling manner that you have posted I would get a suspension from the site. Apparently some can give it and the others have to take it. Is that right mods?
  5. I'm under no illusions that Morton might be a fantastic player at another club... because we have proven time and again that we can't produce topline players due to the fact we have no money and a rubbish culture. Very hard to pin it on individuals and their attitudes etc when they are part of organisation with a track record for failure
  6. I believe he said him and cotchin were equal 1st great call scotty
  7. There is a disgraceful decision made about every 2 minutes Half the good players in the comp are in the stands injured It's more like athletics than footy Becoming thoroughly unwatchable
  8. yeah i know, fancy people being dense enough to think that all medicos are the same, there is no correlation between quality of service and salary and that having a massive injury list every single year is simply bad luck maybe we should just save a heap of coin and have volunteer supporters handle the injuries instead of doctors fair dinkum are there any adults on this site
  9. tell us more about these knowledge enhancement devices
  10. another Seinfeld i didn't think the joke could be improved upon after the first 4 times but you went ahead and mastered it.
  11. they won a flag and got within a kick of another, and they are already on the way back. They have one of the best records of any club pound for pound and are richer than God i'll take their culture thanks
  12. it's the wacky sarcastic one-liners that are doing it for me nobody told me Seinfeld uses demonland
  13. exactly, this 'all professionals are created equal' attitude is quite bizarre and completely wrong to be frank and to suggest there is no correlation between quality and payscale is just as crazy
  14. you've got to be joking if you are at the head of your field, and you have a CV that reflects an impressive academic and professional history, and you are looking fo a job, why in the name of christ would you go to Melbourne and do exactly the same job for half the wage. Cash is probably your number 1 priority like it is for everyone else on the planet. Have you ever seen a GP or other medical specialist, or any professional for that matter, that made you realise the last bloke you saw didn't know what he was doing? because i certainly have the same thing applies to the position of senior coach FCS, for which we also shell out bargain basement remuneration. People are talking about Malthouse coming here well you can bet your jewels that will not happen unless nobody else wants him, because practically everyone will outbid us and of course he will take it. That's what happened with Chris Judd or else he would be our captain niw. How friggin obvious does it need to be man there's a lot of head in the sanders lately..
  15. how can you say that i don't care if you are talking about the bootstudder, if you pay the most you are going to get the best one and there is going to be a difference in terms of facilities it is even more pronounced
  16. no the onus is on you to do that because youve waltzed into the thread calling others stupid without offering a shred of anything useful yourself besides there is no such thing as 'medical qualifications' it's all just luck remember collingwood pays double what we do in order to secure the luckiest medical professionals available rabbits feet and shamrocks
  17. do you call that a valuable contribution, it doesnt even qualify as a response obviously you are a medical expert though
  18. yeah and when he beats you everytime you can just say it's luck instead of a tangible reason ie you are bad at the game its easier that way
  19. yeah the first 25 years of his life he never saw anyone lead for a footy
  20. Nathan Jones is proof that even if you are a little bloke, a few years in the system building your body and gaining experience will mean you will get better and better around the hard ball. The ratio of how often he gets caugth holding it vs how often he walks through a tackle has improved dramatically
  21. when Tappy kicked that huge goal most of the side went to him and Trengove was first of course
  22. maybe he was referring to the post-northey era you reckon? to say he doesn't have a point is major head in the sand stuff
