  1. Collingwood, Collingwood, a thousand times Collingwood.
  2. And that is the biggest problem most of us have with Moloney. Seems to be too much of a front-runner, performing against lesser teams, yet when the blowtorch is applied, goes to water. Agreed re: Davey. It's a bit hard to get possessions in the forward pocket of this team at the moment.
  3. Godwin's Law. Mods, if you please......
  4. Once again, as stated on another thread, an automated response. Most importantly, without members they have no cash flow. No apologies for cynicism.
  5. Isn't he the lad that kicked 7 in a final against Footscray alongside Jakovich? I'd say better.
  6. And that's clearly not the automated reply they had set up for anyone who replied to said email..... *rolls eyes*
  7. Hopefully for a change it's actually constructive, and aimed at the right place...... Oh wait, in the HUN? Excellent. More sensationalist tripe.
  8. But so would criticising said isolated decision. Talk about a nothing thing to be worried about.
  9. Too bad he has no respect for them. Although, perhaps that's a good thing. (via supermercado) [media=]
  10. I'm simply saying we shouldn't have radically differing standards that players should be looking to attaining, accounting for variables such as body development and injuries. Every player should be held to the same standard of EFFORT is simply what I'm trying to state. Sorry for the detour into semantics.
  11. Since the whole list is PAID to play football, wouldn't that make the WHOLE LIST professional football players? Somewhat of an indictment on the rest of the list, one would think. And to think we HAVE to pay out 92.5 % of the cap.
  12. Probably should have clarified: Yes, you're right, but in jazz, you have to have more knowledge of and trust in your fellow musician because of this. That is the analogy we want, but I'm still yet to see why these skills and the basic effort is not coming across. This would be the easiest thing to apply, but the players STILL aren't getting it.
  13. Frankly, at the moment, I'd settle for clinically perfect. Even without the feel, surely the players can deliver that? It seems at the moment, they have just forgotten even how to play football. You can't blame a gameplan for that.
  14. Ah, but that's a false equivalency. It's not as if we're taking back pocket players and telling them to be ruckmen. I think maurie has it more right with the jazz scenario. But surely, if they have the underlying skills: i.e. fingerings, embouchures, etc. (cf. kicking, tackling, positioning) it wouldn't take all that long to come to terms with it, especially if you are playing with what is essentially the same group of musicians. Just as an aside maurie, I'd say jazz musicians have to adhere to the 'team' dynamic slightly more, IMO.
  15. Last good captain? Junior says hello.
  16. As I've said before, I'll stick by this CLUB. It's certain members of the playing list that are losing me at the moment.
  17. Definitely the template for a wingman. Fast, light, at times has excellent disposal. If he turns out to be half the player Bluey Adams was, we'll definitely have a gem. Just allow him to string some games together.
  18. Don't forget, Cloke was bagged as an awful kick as little as 18 months ago, and now many on here are clamouring to sign him up for next year.........
  19. I think we will have to agree to disagree. I do have to admit, I fail to see how PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALLERS can take so long to 'get' the gameplan, even when it is using the same set of skills. In any other workplace, they would have been let go by now. I think the club needs to take the business approach (some would say 'mercenary'). If they're going to treat it as a job, so should we. If you can't meet the most BASIC of KPI's, see ya later.
  20. I won't disagree there. It may also be an issue that will come from the aftermath to the Bailey era: "Play the high draft picks and damn the consequences!" And to lose by only 60 was a fair effort, especially against those snipers. The record you're looking for was '88 under Swooper.
  21. If this is the case, how were they even employed? And I don't think it's the case of clarinet to piccolo, more trumpet to tuba. The exact same WAY to play it, just slightly different, which takes no more than a few weeks to overcome, even in an amateur setting. These guys have been practicing football skills for years. Nobody is asking them to do things drastically differently, just apply them in a different way. I'm beginning to doubt the footballing IQ of our list in a serious way, given some of the awful performances we have been served up under the illusion of football. Also, putting the gameplan into practice..........isn't this what TRAINING is for? O_o
  22. Surely some of those orchestras have only been playing from their respective charts for the same amount of time? The skills should translate across. Surely you'd be wondering why some of the players are retaining their seats, as opposed to gunning for the conductor.........
  23. Not to be down on the kid, but the sooner we get rid of the downhill skiing senior players, the better for young Blease. At certain points through the first half, I did note, watching the replay, that tackling pressure was almost non-existent. However, to his credit, he was one of the very few who looked like he gave a stuff in the second half. Also, I think the loss of Bruce and the opening up of a HBF may be the making of Morton. Once the midfielders work to give him a target, watch his efficiency % skyrocket.
  24. I have a serious question regarding this. If one were to approach a professional orchestra with a new piece of music they've never played before, would you be outraged if they took 6 months in practice, and then for the first 8 public performances, were subjected to a cacophony of noise the likes of which had never been heard by human ears, with no HINT of melody, wouldn't you be justifiably outraged? Especially if you had to pay to listen to that dross? Can someone please explain to me how this is any different? In all seriousness.
