  1. Went to a Dees v Crows game at Moron park about 10-11 years ago. Sat behind the goals in the Melbourne cheersquad. Dees got smashed, but they put on an after match function in a room on the wing somewhere. About 200 of us needed a police escort to walk (inside the ground) from behind the goals to the function. We (all 200 of us) were basically abused all the way around. I also got shat on by a seagull. They call that "good luck". I thought it was more bad luck actually.
  2. Any bloke that can't give an extra 5 minutes of their time, after a handsomely paid gig, to sign a couple of extra autographs is not the type of bloke that I would want at our club. That's why I'm glad Gawn has changed his ways/habits...
  3. Both are RFA. We don't want to offer a big contract to have him as depth. But any low offer would decrease Richmond's compensation, so they would be likely to match it. They will want something reasonable in return, and I don't think we should be willing to pay for that. We will let Grimes walk for a bag of lollies as compensation because we know he's not AFL standard.
  4. As I said, I would take Frawley over Rance. Doesn't mean I'm more right than you, nor you more than me. That's the joys of an opinion.
  5. Wouldn't touch Riewoldt, he would be a culture killer, and he's a genuine first class phlog to go with it. The jury is out for me with Rance. Yes, he's a very good player, but is he as good as what we get told? I'd prefer to have Frawley back. Just my view.
  6. Was that a single ticket? I tried yesterday as well, I need two tickets, but couldn't buy any next to each other.
  7. To be honest, Red, I don't think I would. That said, I could be letting my opinion/thoughts of Vickery cloud my judgement. When I typed that original post I was actually thinking of that exact trade. Problem with him, I reckon Richmond would want more than what he is worth, so don't know if a Grimes/Ty trade would get done (they would want more).
  8. Ty Vickery. He will be shopped around, and I seriously hope we don't buy it. I'll go even further - other than Martin, there isn't any player at Richmond that I would like at our club. This thread should almost be dedicated to the Richmond Football Club.
  9. Saw him at one of the training camps at Maroochydore a couple of years ago. The warning signs were quite prominent back then, and nothing I have read since has ade me change my view. Disappointing for the kid, but he got to a stage (being recruited by the MFC) that many of us could only dream of. Just a shame he couldn't get to the next level or two above.
  10. Anyone know how we buy tickets for the Geelong game? I believe they go on sale tomorrow morning, but wondered if there were other options. TIA.
  11. Happy for this to turn in to a "who do you think wins?" thread, but I see the date for this year's B&F count has been published. It will take place this year on Tuesday 6 September at Crown. https://secure.ticketdesq.com/book/index.cfm?fuseaction=main&TicketDesqID=1908&OrgID=1749&camefrom=EMCL_1216554_46712391 A couple of comments; 1. WTF is it on a Tuesday for? I was planning on going for the first time ever, but can't justify spending the $250 on a "school" night, especially as I always aim to get my ticket price back via the premium beverage package. (Although $250 worth of Crownies at Crown is only about 8 bottles). 2. As per the above link - how good is it that the club had to put the caveat "please note if the Melbourne Football Club make finals, an alternative date will be announced". It's Round 21 and we are still a mathematical chance!
  12. But, but, I thought he could only handball?
  13. Most players are doing work experience in some capacity, GNF. I wouldn't read in to that part too much.
  14. The rest of the team need to be smarter when he does play. Reality is, Hogan has all the makings of a superstar, in the Franklin, Carey, Brown category. These sides all won premierships without relying on those players. When Hogan plays, we are too reliant on him. Then we see what happens when he doesn't play (i.e. Hawthorn/Geelong). For next week, if Hogan is 100%, he must come in. I just have no idea who goes out, and kind of hope that someone misses out because they aren't 100%, rather than having to make way.
  15. Start a new thread then. For your info, he got 36 tonight apparently. The answer to the question I was actually asking.
  16. I asked how he was going (tonight). You questioned his contract status in replying to my post.
  17. We beat Port next week, then things get veddy veddy interesting. North will lost their next three, we should beat Carlton. Geelong in Round 23 could be our best win since the Western Oval in 1987... Will happily take today until such time.
  18. Players like him don't get delisted after 2 years. Has shown too much. Other than that, thanks for your input to my question. hint - take a look at "DavidNeitz9" reply. Cheers.
  19. How's ANB going please? Big preseason coming up for him. I rate him, but he's heading in to his 3rd year and hasn't seemed to lock in a "preferred" position.
  20. Obviously saw how easy it was today for the weed, so wants to get in on the action next week!
  21. Hogan out, Pedo in. Frawley out. The Weed to kick 6.
  22. PJ's goal/expectation was to play a final under Roos. He declared this publicly and openly last year. We should've beaten North, Essendon and West Coast this year. That would have us on 11-7, and entrenched in the Top 8. Reality is, we didn't, and this has cost us a final this year. Roos nearly delivered on the promise of our CEO, and I think that's a bloody amazing effort considering what we were like in Roos' first season, just 3 years ago. All this while frequently fielding the youngest team in the entire competition, week after week. I am in no doubt that we will play final/s next year, and will be investing with Sportsbet on a regular basis until then. Roos, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you have done to this team. My son has just turned 2, and I'm excited that as he goes through Primary School, all the other kids will be jealous of him when he wears his MFC jumper to class.
  23. That's why I, and many others, would dearly love Hurley. That said, if we get Hibberd, and having Melksham back, that instantly gives us just under 200 games of additional experience in to our backline. I don't think our KPP stocks are as bad as some are saying. And to keep it on topic, I think we will get Prestia. No source, just a feeling in my loins.
  24. Not sure about anyone else, but I'd really love to see a couple of games this year that has Brayshaw, Petracca, Oliver, Tyson, Viney, Salem, ANB (who I rate) and Stretch in the same team, especially if Jones and Vince are playing in it too. The perfect games would be vs Carlton and Geelong.
