  1. You would throw everything at them at the moment Sloonie, even that flat pack kitchen sink that caused you grief before! Nb. Still trying to move on from that "tools in girls hands" comment you made. Giggity.
  2. When the nephew drinks a glass of water, does he leak all over like a sieve?
  3. Mods - can we please enforce a rule that in any future polls posted by Rangey, that there is a compulsory option of "The option I support is not there, so instead of being railroaded in to picking something I don't agree with, I will take the easy way out and vote for this"? I mean, we all would love to participate in Rangey's polls, but in 5 years time, he can't slap us across the face with his hindsight replies.
  4. I'm interested to know why you wanted to know the answer to a question like that, and why you thought that was an appropriate forum to ask it? Given that our coach was labelled a racist last year, that we delisted Jamie Bennell who is still recovering from a knee reconstruction, but still drafted/traded in Dom Barry, and we still have Flash and Jetta on our list, I just would've thought it would be a question best asked in a more private situation, especially given that the particular subject has been a very sensitive one in recent times, of which have cost people their jobs for speaking openly about their views. I'm not knocking you for asking it, and from all reports, NC answered it very well (I'd be interested to know his view), just don't see how it would've fitted in with the purpose of an AGM.
  5. I'm not sure how anyone else feels about the AFL and world sport in general at the moment, but me, I'm starting to get a bit sick of it to be honest. Being a Melbourne supporter all my life (30-40 years), like most on here I have never experienced the ultimate success. 1987 was heartbreaking, 1988 was embarrassing, 2000 was expected but still bloody hurt. All I wanted growing up, and all I still want to this day, is to celebrate my beloved Demons winning a flag. At stages in my life, I've probably been guilty of thinking that I'd do anything to see us win a flag, and hoped that the Club felt the same. But to what extent does a team have to go to to reach such heights? I look back in my time and remember the dominant Hawthorn team of the 80's, the power of the Eagles in the early 90's, the brilliance of Essendon in 2000, the Brisbane legacy of the early to mid 2000's, and the recent Geelong era. But did I sit back watching in admiration and jealousy under false pretense? I read on here recently about the rumour of the 80's Hawthorn team being on the juice. The Eagles were always rumoured to have had assistance, even to the point where one of their premiership players hinting to me a couple of years ago (in a private conversation) that there was a great deal of fact behind some of those reports. Essendon in 2000? Based on the past 48 hours - who knows? And given the connection between then coach, Mark Thompson and the men of the moment, "The Pharmacist" and "The Weapon", questions have to be raised about the Geelong team. The only one I'm yet to hear anything about is the Lions (although Alastair Lynch's treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome wereas questionable), which I sincerley hope their 3-peat is squeaky clean, because I have no doubt that team was the best I've seen in my life time. So, it makes me wonder, is it really worth winning a flag? Are we going to be able to legally compete against some of these top sides, especially if we keep our noses clean (pun intended), when at various stages others don't? I don't know what would be more heartbreaking, going through life not seeing a flag, or finding my team that dominated an era and created its own legacy did so under the assistance of drugs. Luckily(?) it's not just AFL that is under the pump. However, it is a terrible shame that elite sport has come to this, and hope that either the senior figures of all codes can stamp it out, or that I'm overreacting! I was told a quote one day out fishing when I lost the standard "big one". It is better to have loved and lost, than not to have loved at all. I guess we would all love to feel that sensation of winning a flag, even if years later it was found that we had assistance. To leave here one day not knowing what that feeling is like, good folk like ourselves shouldn't be put in that situation.
  6. How'd I go Satyriconhome? Were my expectations met or exceeded?
  7. Pates, don't lose sleep over it mate. It's not just the AFL that is in the sh!t with this one, most sporting codes in Australia are in strife.
  8. Didn't you see any of the first 10 games or so last year Maldon? It is quite simple, you kick it in to the forward line and Mitch Clark marks. It doesn't have to hit him on a lead, just kick it to the pack that Mitch is within a 15m radius of. I said it last year, the first thing we need our players to do is understand when to kick it with your "wrong" foot. If we can improve that this year, it will reduce our turnovers by foot remarkably.
  9. My late father always told me "Essendon are a bunch of pricks". I didn't realise he was talking about the needle holes all over their bodies.
  10. Will get poached by the Collingwood cheersquad if he keeps that up.
  11. Thank Christ for that! In the past 2 weeks I've had (ex)cyclones, tornados, floods, days of power outages, the last thing I needed was a f**king tsunami!
  12. And to confirm that he hasn't been with us for the last 5 years...
  13. We're in the clear I think...
  14. Tappy, just interested to know, were you a fan of Andy Lovell when he played at the MFC? If so, I'm spewing Demonland wasn't around back then, so your user name could be "choppersquad". While Andy didn't have massive legs, his hairstyle at times would've suited the cast of the same name.
  15. What part up north has a tsunami warning?
  16. Actually, NO, if anyone did turn up to training today, please keep it to yourself, don't tell anyone on here anything. I'm sick of training reports, we get them basically 3 times a week. Enough already. Just kidding Mdemonski, of course we'll love a report!
  17. It would be disappointing if it has Stuie, especially if it's on the back of Kaspersky. We need/needed to attack the Chinese market on the same level as we have done, or were instructed to, for the Northern Territory market. Target them as a region and individual companies will come.
  18. Correct for me Sat. I can't really justify flying down from interstate to attend a meeting that, as history shows (as reported on Demonland!), tells us nothing that we don't already know.
  19. Does anyone know if they do drug testing in the state level leagues? I know Lees got suspended, but he didn't get found out through testing. Just makes the Essendon/Bendigo split more interesting...
  20. What, we were experimenting in the intra club match too? Bloody hell, Caro will now start reporting that we were practicing how to experiment in game-like conditions.
  21. What I would like to know, and I'm in no doubt the Club would have knowledge of this, is where we sit, in terms of investment in to our Football Department, compared to other clubs, in particular the 4 (Vic) power clubs, as well as teams like Sydney and West Coast. Further to that, what strategies are in place to see us catch up to the leaders? Yes, 2012 was a year full of distractions, and some would no doubt be thrilled with our $150k profit. But, if we are $5m-$10m behind our competitors in terms of expesnses directly realted to improving our players perrformance, where is this money going to come from?
  22. It'll be the same old stuff Old Dee... 1. We are debt free, and through things like Foundation Heroes dinners/fundraising, we should be in a situation where we won't feel too much pain. 2. New recruitment team, no stone unturned to find the best talent in Australia. 3. Will continue the Casey alignment, something about the 2nd biggest growth corridor in Australia. 4. China still happening, but will take time. 5. Darwin experiment very successful, have had camps up there and the NT government like what we are doing in the community. 6. Discussions for new sponsors are well down the path, and we hope to secure some more and make announcements in the near future.
  23. Sad part is CBD that even playing a Sunday twighlight game, Carlton would still get 50,000+ there.
  24. Depending on what levels the AFL/ASADA take their investigastions, they may be glad that they cut the Bendigo team loose...
