  1. I haven't. Stop stalking me.
  2. Obviously we are full of simpleton's on here (me included) as there are a number of people who listed 2 HFF, 1 CHF, 2 FP's and 1 FF. RR asked for our Plan A forward line, and indicated that it involved 6 players filling the positions listed above. But, I guess it's easier to sit back and question others for their selections rather than playing the game.
  3. Cheers for that DD, it took some finding! I must have missed the Club announcing that to the members. I think receiving $1m from Opel and Webjet is far from lucrative, but on the otherhand, the $2m from EW was way overs (alarms bells rang for me at a President's Lunch function I attended when Polis was there). I think, for whatever reason, $2m total is about a $500k-$1m short of market value (I value front and back at up to $3m total). In no way would I call $2m total sponsorship "lucrative". CS went in to damage control after the EW saga, I just hope that in the renegotiations of contracts, that Opel and Webjet are paying a bit more this time around.
  4. GWS was already on the cards before North rejected the AFL's offer. So that would've been the 17 team comp, but given The Tassie Project © more airplay.
  5. Where's the paranoia that you speak of? In the past 5 years or so, the AFL offered North massive dollars to go North. They rejected it, which would be a fair kick in the testicles of AD Inc. Do you think the AFL will do all in their power to support NOrth when the inevitable comes when they ask for further handouts? And in reagrds to the MFC, we are far, far from being out of the woods. Yes, we got rid of our massive debt. Yes, we made a small profit in the year from hell, but at this stage, we are relying on memberships and sponsorships to help keep us afloat. A drop in either will damage us, regardless of the outcome of the tanking saga. If we don't start winning games, and doing it in a hurry (1-5 years), we will be less appealing to new sponsors, and we will continue to find it hard to build our supporter base. Making a profit isn't the be all and end all, some debt is/can be good. But considering our asset base is one of the lowest in the league, and that our performance has been pitiful, we cannot rest on our laurels, just because we made some profit during 2013 - The Year of Shite ©. Not to mention the fact that our gross turnover is way off what the big clubs is.
  6. A starting 7 minue the one starts on the bench? Pretty sure that makes it a starting 6. I do believe the OP asked for us to set up our Plan-A Forward Line. MOst that have taken that as a "when the opening bounce takes place" type of set up. Of course there's going to be rotations throughout the game, and that the "traditional" 6 forwards will change early in the match. I'm not liking our disagreements DC, can we please change this immediately!
  7. Cheers RP. What about the first part of my post re. the potential of a 17 club comp should NOrth have taken the lucrative offer of moving to the Gold Coast? I'm presuming that 18 team deal wasn't in place back then?
  8. It will come. While it may not be as high, the income would be far more sustainable than the Gold Coast. I would expect within the next 5-10 years a team will be in Tassie. Gives the AFL plenty of time to "watch" a team like North (or us, depending on the result of you-know-what) die a slow death.
  9. Who's in your starting 6 DC?
  10. Only last year? I hope there are certain times the year before that too WYL, in particular a trip down to Geelong. He is a part of a select group that have "represented" the MFC that I will never forget, I'm just appreciative of Neeld that they are no longer associated with the MFC.
  11. As always, we appreciate your input on these forums, Cameron.
  12. First thing I wanted to see from Tapscott was an uniterupted preseason. I've bloody near got that this year, so I look forward to him consolidating a spot on my HFF. FWIW DC - The general view has Belase and/or Howe in the forward line. I personally would like to see both those blokes on the wing.
  13. Was the 18 team deal in place when they offered North sh!tloads to go to the GC about 5 years ago? Would've made it a 17 team comp then. It would be silly to think that the AFL aren't wanting a team in Tasmania.
  14. HF: Sylvia Clark Tapscott F: Davey Dawes Watts I have no idea about the other forward pocket. I haven't seen enough of Pedo (I don't like lollies from strange men) to slot him straight in. Am considering putting Jamar in there, but am unsure if Pencil can take number 1 ruck. I think Byrnes and Davey are competing for that spot (that I gave to Flash). Nah, bugger it, I'll put Watts. It's a better looking forward line with him in it (now that he is an adult).
  15. Perhaps 3AW rang AD right on the true COB time of 5pm, and at that stage, the AFL had not received it? Will we ever learn the truth at the end of this saga? Doubtful, but the "I told you so's" on here after it's all finished will be quite entertaining, considering none of of, that's right, absolutely NONE of us know any facts.
  16. But Clark won't be playing Round 1 will he? So where does that leave the match-ups? As I'm on his ignore list, can someone please ask BH to give an opinion on what to expect from all of our new recrutis please? He goes to training as much as anyone, so I'm interested to know what he is expecting from all of our new recruits. Cheers.
  17. Didn't he say that he was keeping at arms length during this part of the process? Perhaps he really is, to the point that he is not getting involved in it...yet. Not sure what that means. Just sayin'!
  18. Was there somewhere that I disagreed with the get out clause? As I said, all income produced from sponsorship is vital/valuable. I would be very interested to know what contribution both Opel and Webjet were required to make. I would appreciate it if someone could ask at the AGM (I won't be there). As I said, the whole world knew what the Energy Watch deal was worth, but we have no idea what Opel/Webjet are paying. Is it CS keeping this quiet so he avoids criticism? Just throwing it out there. We are obviously very grateful of any and all contributions made by Webjet/Opel, and of course it helped us post a profit during the year from hell, they were major sponsors afterall. I'm not sure if you are disagreeing with anything I've posted RPFC, so I'll take it that you aren't, and are just contributing to the topic. Cheers.
  19. No doubt it is a generic clause DC, and would cover incidents similar to what we see with TAC sponsorships being pulled should a player be caught speeding/DUI. That said, the sponsorship extension was signed while the invesitagtions were being carried out, so none of know if it is a generic clause or one specific to the allegations. I'm hopeful that our sponsors will see the benefit of sticking with us, regardless of the outcome of the allegations, therefore, not needing to use the "get out clasue" that may be available to them.
  20. How do we know the current sponsorship deals are "lucrative", rumpole? I'm the first to say that any $ received from sponsorship is vital/valuable, but considering we all knew how much Energy Watch were meant to be giving us ($5.9m over 3 years or something), as it was the biggest deal in the Club's history, and the fact that nothing has been mentioned as to the financial contributions either Webjet or Opel were required to pay, I am willing to bet that what Webjet and Opel are paying is well under what most would expect. That's not to say they aren't paying market value.
  21. I'm amazed this post has been up for nearly 24 hours, and we haven't had the "any publicity is good publicity for sponsors" line that gets thrown about by some in here. I also found it interesting to read in an article in The Age that our current sponsors have a "get out clause" should we be found guilty of tanking.
  22. I find it amazing how "small" Jamar looks, standing next to Pencil and Gawn. Fitzy must be pretty close to the same height. I am aslo impressed that Hogan is in the photo, given that he's not a Melbourne listed player in 2013. All part of his football education so that hopefully come Round 1 2014, he'll be further developed than some of his (same-aged) opponents.
  23. Harley Bennell 185cm - 74kgs Dom Barry 183cm - 70kgs
  24. If Barry wasn't involved in the trade, what pick would he have gone at? From what I remember, he wasn't rated a top 25 pick was he? Not being smart, just saying/asking?! This year will give us our best indication just what we lost. I will rely on this forum to get GWS reports as I can't stand watching the little [censored]. I hope I'm totally incorrect, but when he played his 31 games for us, I was in no doubt that he would be a star, and apart from the colours he wears (and my opinion of him as a human), nothing has changed for mine. I just hope he doesn't turn out to be "that" midfielder that the better clubs have got. That said, on paper it does look like it worked out for the best (for us), but I'm not taking it to the bank just quite yet.
  25. Sorry DC, just got back from perming my hair. Keep wearing tha tjacket little buddy, it'll be stylish again in the future I'm sure.
