Brayshaw and Lewis directly contributed to 5 opposition goals on the weekend through poor field kicking and woeful defensive efforts. I wonder sometimes if this group is really hungry for it, or are they just happy being AFL footballers.
  2. It’s weird, but at the moment I’d prefer to play anywhere but the MCG ,where we’ve been playing terribly of late.
  3. Pathetic! So you are now allowed to punch someone in the guts with the ball no where in sight? Great game we have this AFL
  4. This is exactly what said in one of my previous posts. The fact that St Kilda used the same tactic as collingwood and by the time Goodwin changed anything it was too late in the last quarter, where we out scored them. What he did was completely open up our forward line so we had more players up the ground to pressure them and then run like mad into the 50 when we got it. I could see what the Saints were doing in the first quarter , but Goody didn’t change till the last.
  5. As much as the ridiculous decisions by umpires including the 50 meter penalties which cost us goals, I though we continuously shot ourselves in the foot with rushed kicks resulting in turnovers. Lewis and Brayshaw the main culprits. Jetta and Omac decided to play their worst game of the year on the same day as well which didn’t help. Im not willing to call season over just yet, but they better get it together over the next couple of weeks otherwise it will be, very quickly.
  6. I don’t understand why they sent one of the most experienced backline coaches in the AFL to Casey and replaced him with a rookie. A career move? Stuff that, how about getting serious at a tilt at the flag?
  7. I can’t understand it either, Collingwood got us like that too, with the quick play on to the outside run on the boundary and swinging it in. They were doing it on the same wing all day with no melb players within cooee
  8. Players that were in form 4 weeks ago have been out of form the last month and missing again today in ANB, Melksham and Hannan. Jordan Lewis seems to have zero care factor. Every week he gives up two or three goals because of lack of discipline or turnovers from lazy decision making. I do not care what leadership he brings, because he is part of the rot. Tyson is still slow and will not change. We have to give games to guys like Spargo, Baker and stretch because at least they have some zip. i Can’t believe how much the backline has deteriorated since Levers demise so maybe Frost and Pederson instead of Smith and Petty with some run from Baker playing the old Hunt role. Fritsch is a young star.
  9. 6 Gawn 5. Viney 4.Fritsch 3. Harmes 2. Hibberd 1.Oliver

Out, Petty, Smith, Hannan, Lewis ANB In Baker, Frost, Pederson, Spargo Stretch
  11. Our defense is now a complete rabble . Only Melbourne can self implode like this just when things were starting to look up. We have some hard ball bulls yes, but no skills or real run. Couldnt take a Mark up forward to save ourselves for the second week in a row . How come we never kick to a leading player in the forward line? And where the hell was TMac today ? Did he play?

They are doing a job on us on the outside just like Collingwood . Untill we get some players with genuine outside pace this will keep happening to us. Spargo and stretch would have been handy today.
  13. We need to stretch the opposition. Bringing in Weed and Frost would give players like Hogan and Hibberd more freedom. We would score more. If Stretch comes in, would stretch em even more, pardon the pun
  14. What pees me off about losing a game like this is not the way we played , but mainly not getting the four points. You can bet your bottom dollar that even if we win next week the media noise will be something like “Flat track bullies at it again”
  15. I still feel we need that third tall forward. Weideman would take another defender off Hogan and TMac. Even Pederson was stiff to be dropped as I thought he freed up TMac also considering we didn’t give our forwards many chances against the pies
  16. If we had lost by a lot I’d understand some of the comments on here but I really thought we were desperately unlucky to lose. A lot went against us. The boys gave blood for the team tonight. I for one are sticking with them.
  17. Gutted but we will win more tha lose for the rest of the year Oh, and Viney is back!
  18. Pretty sad really We were the better side most of the night. Poor ball use inside 50 and biased umpiring cost us the four points in a brutal battle.
  19. What I find hard to get my head around is getting smashed in the clearances for two weeks in a row, especially when we have the likes of Gawn , Oliver and Viney in there? Even when Hogan went in there he did nothing . I know Tyson isn’t very fashionable but he is a good clearance player.
  20. Bernie’s finished you could see it all year. Youd rather a Hunt or Tyson any day
  21. I agree not the reason we lost, but he would’ve stemmed the bleeding and given us more of a chance. Mason Cox FFS???
  22. Collingwood have a better midfield than ours and much quicker, but I can’t believe we couldn’t find a match up for Mason Cox of all people. If Tom Lynch goes to the pies they will be a serious contender..
  23. Goody made the same mistake he made against Hawthorn by using our best ball winners and users as taggers. In effect that takes them out of the game as well.
  24. Where has the old Viney mean dog gone? Oliver needs some help . Couldnt even dream of beating Collingwoods midfield , with Viney , Petracca and Brayshaw having so little of it.
  25. Viney and Petracca both look like they need another preseason. Also thought Goodwin was out coached again today
