I just watched the reply of this game as it just happened to be on foxtel and those 50 metre penalties plus a lack of intensity from our guys were the main difference. one thing I noticed was how hard Kozzie and ANB work. They do alot of unrewarded running just to put pressure on the opposition to try and cause in turnovers . Their value to the team us much more than goals alone.

Kozzie worked really hard without reward and I suppose he will have those games as the opposing best small defender will match up on him. He didn’t get much clean possession last night but he is doing all the right things and it will come.

Viney will be better for the run and didn’t really get into the game tonight. Salem and May are super important to our whole set up. I probably would’ve preferred to see more of the likes of Chandler and Bedford than Hunt , Jordan or Baker and I think Chandler might be a sneaky chance for round one. Brayshaw back on his wing will also stop alot of opposition attacks

We only played a half and conceded 4 goals to free kicks. Carlton played out of their skins but credit to them. We learned a couple of valuable lessons too. Umpire dissent won’t be tolerated and we have to be switched on with full intensity from the opening bounce as we will be the hunted this year.

Joel smith and Tomlinson might get plenty of games in that backline this year, and maybe in front of Petty and Hunt, or by resting Hibberd, or even ahead of Rivers. Shoes how good our depth is.

The great thing is I’m stressed anymore about footy and will we ever win one or not. Im ecstatic we’ve won one and can now watch footy with a sense of accomplishment and pride in the knowledge that we’ve reached the pinnacle. Anything from now on will be icing on the cake.

Getting better and better as he grows in confidence, and learning lots from Trac, Vines and Clarry too. Has a mean boot on him and a very solid frame, could develop into another monster midfielder for us.

His best attribute is execution of skills under pressure, not something a lot of players possess

He is a sort of Nic Nat, Adam Goodes mix, but he looks better below his knees and has a good yard of pace. His development for a Ruck/Tall in just his second year is mind blowing After Trac, Clarry and Gawny, he will be our next superstar.

I watched all 3 finals again, and Bens influence was huge in all 3 games. Just his work rate, contest work, and goals at crucial times was a very important cog in our line up.

This kid is an absolute legend already and he is only in his second season!

Great was a good mate of my Uncles, and used to get us into the rooms after every game when I was a kid. I got to meet many Demon greats in that time, thanks to him.
