The club are probably holding back the truth to try and squeeze out as many memberships as possible. Once the membership window closes , wevwill probably hear that he is out for the year.

Great Salem is in, but id rather a Blease or Clisby than Byrnes.

No ones really exceded any of my expectations. Actually i was hope one or two stars would emerge, but we still really lack one or two. The new recruits have gone well, but i guess cross has pleased me the most. Still not sure what to make of tyson, whether he will be a bonefide star or just a good player. Vince seems skilled but a little lazy. I was very please with dawes marking ability so far, and his ability to recover below his knees.

We've improved, but overall im disappointed, especially only winning one game to date. I thought we would be a bit more desperate and aggressive, but looked rather meek in all games bar Carlton. Still have to learn how to play four quarters of footy.

With ball in hand he is excellent, probably our best. 75% of the time he goes more than alright, its just those one on one contests, that Roos needs to teach him how to fix. Gotta have faith as we dont have many elite skilled players and afford to drop them .

Its true the whole team needs a rocket up the proverbial,a good kick up the butt. They need to get tough and find some real desperation, some mongrel and hardness for four quarters. You have to really really want it, thats the missing ingredient. However i do believe we have improved alot on last year, i have faith it will come, the right man is in charge.

Reminds me of another Dees player from the seventies, David Cordner. David had all the physical attributes to be a star, built like an ox and tall and muscley , should have dominated,but was as meek as a lamb. You have to have a bit of mongrel in you to play footy.

I think the opposition have also worked him out, his reputation precedes him,they only have to put physical pressure on him and he cant win the ball, also anyone that plays on him would be instructed to take the game on because any attempt at a chase or a tackle by Watts would normally be unsuccessful.

Rivers was great today, as was Petterd on Thursday.

They both make mistakes just like we do......but both these teams give 110 % effort for four quarters. You would never see a pathetic effort like our second quarter yesterday from any of these two teams.

We need to get our better skilled players in for those who are just not quite good enough. Salem, Toumpas and Garland have to come into the side because they are quality players. I dont understand why we persevere with the ordinary , these three are players who should be in our best side going forward and into the future. Id also prefer Gawn as Ruckman because he can actually take a few good grabs and has goal sense. Hogan completes the puzzle and allows us to play Frawley where ever we need him, even on a wing as he he quite quick and would give the backs a real competitor to kick to. Why not try Watts as a tagger, and demand eight tackles a game, force him to play it hard, and then try and hurt them offensively as well.

Youd think the boys would be sick of losing....that effort in the second quarter was putrid.

It would be nice to win two games in a row.

As bad as Watts was he has still been better than Tyson or Vince have the last two weeks, Jordie was also terrible yesterday,so you cant really blame our woes on him, its a collective effort.

Im normally a Watts fan but i did cringe at some of his efforts today especially when we needed him to stand up in one on one marking contests.

Im sure thats why Roos picked him.......because he is below average.

Love the energy this guy brings to the team.....we have been ,and are pretty light on for guys like JKH who zip around the packs, looking dangerous offensively and defensively.

Yes , was so proud , the noise the Dees supporters made during those finals was scary...

Yes same one as we used to do in 87 ......Collingwood pinched the idea off us.

I reckon this guy will be a mainstay in the side........one of those blokes you just cant drop.

I also heard he had scans yesterday for an on going groin problem.
