  1. I'm pretty sure this is how things worked in the early days of the comp. Yes the pool was far smaller but the concept was the same. You'd have the likes of Collingwood, West Coast and Adelaide crying could about that now though.
  2. The crowd was very loud at times but at other times was eerily quiet for such a large crowd and that was down to our methodical play which took the wind out of the Pies supporters - they didn't have much to cheer about between the first ten minutes and the last 3 minutes.
  3. I think I mentioned earlier that Kozzie may have been playing a defensive forward role on Noble but watching the replay it seems it was actually on Murphy. Chandler/Spargo seemed to be matched up with Noble.
  4. That's only because he only had 1 year to run though. If he still had 3 years to run it may have been a different story and different attitude.
  5. St Kilda's home ground is Docklands and that's where they should play. Same as Essendon and Carlton (both who are looking to play extra home games at the G in coming years). When these clubs play extra home games at the G someone has to play home games at Docklands to make up the shortfall - it's why we still play a game in the NT because this game would be at Docklands if it were in Vic.
  6. While that could end up being good for us it is bad for the competition. One of the key pillars of equalisation is the draft and if this stuff keeps up I can see clubs agitating for greater "academy" recruitment and the draft is a best of the rest type deal. Easy fix is to lock in rookie contracts for 4 years, much harder to bluff clubs when you know you're there for at least 4 years. Clubs could also have 5th or 6th year options like they do in the NFL so players are effectively tied to the club they are drafted at until free agency.
  7. 10 Jack Viney (MELB) 7 Steven May (MELB) 4 Christian Salem (MELB) 3 Jack Crisp (COLL) 2 Max Gawn (MELB) 2 Bayley Fritsch (MELB) 1 Christian Petracca (MELB) 1 Tom Mitchell (COLL)
  8. Great podcast again guys, I almost got through the whole thing today driving to and from work 😂 will have to finish it off tomorrow
  9. Players too, I've heard Barassi mention he's still filthy about it decades later
  10. The biggest problem is every single person who watched the sport knows if Zak Butters does the same thing late in the season and is still a brownlow favourite he will get off. Every supporter knows if Pendlebury does a Sicily tackle in a Prelim he will play the next week.
  11. Surely not? They couldn't even provide proper footage of that incident when he was cited, are you sure it's the same tackle?
  12. Perhaps the AFL needs to look at the playing surfaces if players are getting concussed by hitting the ground so frequently. Surfaces are too hard and grass is cut too short.
  13. What, like this? https://twitter.com/FritschHair/status/1655121679801266176?s=20
  14. 1926, 1939, 1955, 1956, 1960, 1964 vs 1958
  15. Brad Johnson still crying, has been since September 2021.
  16. Hardwick said after the Anzac Eve game they know what to do to beat Melbourne. As I said at the time the difference between knowing and doing is the difference between flags and spoons.
  17. How did you think McRae will combat our midfield zone next time we meet? What do you think Goodwin has to do to prepare for this and how could we potentially counter it?
  18. Not when it counts though (Harmes over the boundary line in 79, Rocca's point into 02, Maynard shepherded out in 18) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  19. Both decisions are ridiculous. Both should appeal.
  20. Especially considering we'd gonna short from kick outs most of the day! It was baffling.
  21. Andy did our dismantling of the Pies gameplan send your MFCSS into remission? Or did the fact they almost pinched it at the end only exacerbate the symptoms?
  22. I don't think that's the case anymore but happy to be proven wrong.
  23. A Richmond supporting relo was here on Sunday, I told him I wasn't particularly looking forward to sitting amongst the filth tomorrow and he told me he hadn't been to a Collingwood game in years because of their supporters. Funny thing is half my relatives and most of my close friends are Collingwood supporters and none of them are the lunatics you see at the games (though most of them rarely go to games).
  24. I know it's tempting fate even to mention it, but if we do play them in the GF I hope some enterprising lad or lass (paging @WalkingCivilWar@) creates a giant "7-1" banner to unfurl once the game is iced. IYKYK.
  25. Yeah like when Chol did the same to Bowey and belted him in the head and got...umm hang on a minute 🤔🤡
