  1. People thinking Hurt is a Johnny Cash song breaks mine 🤣
  2. It's part of the governance of the club, club members have the right to access member contact details to communicate with them around things like board elections and changes to the club constitution. It's not a hard concept to understand and Supreme Court Justice Riordan agreed. Some people are being overly precious and I find it all quite hilarious. Getting your knickers in a twist because someone sent you an email, oh lord how will we sleep tonight?!
  3. I'm the same, never got into country music other than Johnny Cash. It's the only genre of music (other than formulaic pop music which I don't really count) that I just can't get into. On The Beatles it's only in the last 5-10 years I've really got into. Always thought they were overhyped as a kid though I did get that at the time they would have been revolutionary. But I've really come to appreciate them in recent years. King Crimson are a bit of an enigma band to me - I absolute love their debut In the Court of the Crimson King but haven't been able to get into any of their other work much. As a teenager I turned my nose up at electronic music and hip hop/rap as "not real music" but I've come to appreciate and love certain acts.
  4. He is a member of the club and he is entitled to contact other members to provide an alternative or views on the amendments put forward by the club to influence the vote. Whether he is raising other grievances or not is irrelevant, this happens all the time in all facets of club governance (board elections being a prime example).
  5. The club wants members to vote on amendments to the club's constitution. Seems like a democratic function of club governance to me.
  6. As a member based club your contact details may be made available to enable the democratic functions of the club. Pretty simple. And Supreme Court Justice Riordan agrees.
  7. Because we are a member based club not a privately owned franchise
  8. Never got into Sabbath swyl? I love that 70s heavy rock, Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zep, St Vitus, Pentagram, Motorhead almost heavy blues rather than heavy rock. Early Metallica are outright classics too but a progression to the faster 80s metal - Kill Em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, ...And Justice For All all classics from start to finish.
  9. I love Hawkwind! In Search of Space is a great album, very much like a "rockier" early Pink Floyd (thinking Saucerful of Secrets/Meddle).
  10. What's your all time fave WCW? I love a broad range of music styles but Voodoo Child (Slight Return) by Hendrix is my all time #1.
  11. Such a unique instrument, have you seen this movie/doco on it's creator?
  12. All the music talk on the usernames thread got me thinking about this one from last year - one of my favourite threads on Demonland. Post what's currently on your playlist here. And if anyone has a spare hour or two and wants to indulge in a musical masterpiece give these two tracks by Boris a listen.
  13. Back on the topic of usernames, I assume Mincho Mania is an Gardner Minchew/NFL fan when I see the username. @Mincho Mania
  14. I mean, if anyone was that concerned about their email address being handed over they've had a few days to login to their membership account and change their email to a spoof address or a secondary email they don't use regularly. Then just login and change it back after the meeting next week. I don't understand how some people think it is such a big deal, you are a member of an organisation and as part of that other members may request access to your contact details for communication purposes specifically around elections or EGM's. It's an email address, it's not your passport. And I say this without even being a supporter of Lawrence.
  15. Knock yourself out http://www.footyindustry.com/?page_id=4530
  16. Cruelty is an album where every so often (maybe 6-12 months) I go through a phase where I just listen to it on repeat. The "re-mistressed" version where they've cleaned up some of the sound is another level. It's one of those albums where I wish the band would've made an accompanying movie like Pink Floyd's The Wall. Gone slightly off track now haha.
  17. I saw Dani Filth do this live on the Midian tour at the Palace - really an experience seeing this live! Do you have a link to the vids you mention in the final para? Would be interesting to watch.
  18. A Federico Fellini movie if I'm not mistaken? A far stretch from black metal though would be an interesting experiment to get them to do a soundtrack accompanying the film 🤣
  19. If I'm not mistaken Trigon is a DC comics character? I recognise the avatar from a cartoon my kids watch Teen Titans Go! Funny show 🤣
  20. Thanks for the link WCW that was great. I like my metal but the farthest I go is Cradle of Filth and even then really only Cruelty & the Beast and Midian (love those albums). I prefer my metal with a bit more of a "groove" (if you can call it that) than thrash but if it's good I'll listen to it. Great music to listen to at the gym though 🤣
  21. Too weird to live, too rare to die 😉
  22. I assumed it was a biblical place or mythological name, like Golgotha
  23. No unfortunately, it's solely an homage to gonzo journalist Hunter S Thompson - Dr Gonzo is the alter ego of his sidekick/attorney Oscar Zeta Acosta in Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas.
  24. I agree, if the AFL/govt are looking at connecting the MCG with Richmond station in some way we should be looking at incorporating our facilities into that somehow. Build above Brunton Ave and the rail lines.

    NFL

Loving this Jets team at the moment. Gardner, Williams x2, AVT, Hall, Davis, Berrios, G Wilson - just a really fun team to watch at the moment. I love the brutality on defence, it's always a hallmark of a good Jets team (eg NY Sack Exchange). Still not sold on Zach Wilson, a few times on Sunday he just held on to the ball way too long and that almost turnover in the end zone just before half time was mind boggling. He improved after half time but still only 10/18 and 110 yards with one chunk play to Corey Davis for the game. If he can make it we might have a chance to do something in the coming years.
