Every season I am astonished at how many just plain bad teams there are. Poor skills, poor coaching, stupid mistakes. Look at the Raiders just then, O'Connell takes a sack pushing them back to the 40 causing the kicker to miss the FG. Just throw it away you [censored]. And that's just one example that happened in the last 2 minutes, yesterday was a day of horrible football topped off by the Giants/Cowboys game.

  4. The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be!
  5. Comes from good stock, he's a 4th gen league player right?
  6. Yes father sons create an imbalance too but not to the same extent as academy picks which help regenerate the list with top players every other year. Without their academy selections they wouldn't have made the 2022 or 2024 GFs.
  7. Yes but also propped up with academy picks through that time. Heeney, Mills, Blakey three of their best players they otherwise wouldn't have had. Gulden too?
  8. Multiple GF embarrassments

100%!! Been saying for some time now, skill position players mean nothing without a good O-line. O-Line is the most important unit on the team, even a good QB will do nothing if he is constantly under pressure or running for his life. You must build from the inside out, these [censored] teams drafting rookie QBs high and then watch them run for their life, setting them up for failure.

Bosa is out too. Madden curse has extended to the entire team. Combined with the Superbowl loser curse the 9ers were on a hiding to nothing this year.
  12. I'm surprised we couldn't amortise Gus's salary over the years of his contract. Maybe we decided to eat it all this year? Or would it not have been an option?
  13. Legal costs and paying out Brayshaw turned it from a 1.6m profit to a 1.6m loss?
  14. Probably why binge are offering 12 month deals for $5 a month at the moment
  15. DAZN have handled NFL Gamepass since last season. The first season was a debacle - this year it's been a little better but they still have issues you don't expect when paying $250-300 for a sub. Streams randomly restarting, wrong streams starting when you click on a game tile, streams starting at the end so you spoil the score etc etc At least the quality has been ok this year (last year the buffering and drop in frame rate was bad) but still would be very frustrating trying to watch AFL on those servers/platform.

Always tough for the away team on a short week, especially if it's a divisional game and also coming off a brutal divisional game last week. Throw in a 2nd half blizzard and the Steelers were always going to struggle.

  18. In rounds 3 (Suns), 4 (Cats) and 5 (Bombers) we play teams coming off a bye. Not sure if that helps or hinders that early in the season but it is a quirk worth noting.
  19. What about a Melksham type? Half forward, good overhead, good goal sense, link between mids/fwds?
  20. This is where you're wrong, MFC isn't merely a footy club anymore. It is a brand.
  21. Content that engages younger demographics, duh 🙄
  22. I agree to a point, social media is a cesspit but it is a reflection of society which isn't any better. Telling young people not to use it won't work just like previous generations being told they shouldn't play video games, watch TV or listen to rock/rap/metal music. When has telling kids not to do something ever worked? My kids are primary school and they watch YouTube videos far more than they watch actual TV shows. They know Caden McDonald but would hardly recognise any of the TV footy commentators/journos. The point remains the club needs to leverage social media or get left behind (again) to their detriment. It cost us when TV was introduced, it cost us in the early days of social media (Facebook/X) and will cost us again if we don't get on board (Insta/TikTok).
  23. Melbourne vs Freo is on Easter Saturday too, another crowd killer with people going away for long weekend.
  24. Round 1 vs GWS clashes with the Grand Prix, hopefully no Melbourne supporters are brain-dead enough to watch cars going in a circle really fast and actually turn up to our game.
  25. I always thought they pinched the old Sports Tonight logo from channel 10.
