Everyone can see it, why is it not being fixed? Langford can start attending centre bounces next year, Lindsay and Windsor can pinch hit as well. They may be 3-4 years away from starting to hit their prime but they can definitely compete in the middle and use the ball better than our current crop (bar Kozzie).

I agree he is a star and probably the greatest ruckman of the modern era if not all time. He is also a fantastic leader and seems like a great bloke. None of that detracts from the fact his goalkicking is deplorable and so often lets the team down. He should be taking additional time to work on his technique during the week, the fact he misses the same way every time is what is frustrating as it shows he is doing nothing to address it. I agree saying he is an anchor is ridiculous but his set shot kicking has to be addressed (along with most others in the team).

On point 1, is it a surprise that we competed better auerially up forward when Turner was shifted there? We've been crying out for that for weeks! Not only having Turner there but having him alongside other talls. JVR looked good early then was shifted to ruck/bench and taken away from the forward line no wonder he struggles to find form. Turner must stay forward, JVR must stay forward and not ruck. Bring TMac back and either put him in defense to replace Turner or move Petty back (he is absolutely useless forward) and TMac or Jefferson to the forward line. On point 2, what does he expect when we bring Viney back to start in the middle with Petracca and Oliver. It's all good and well to blame the midfielders but selection plays a large part of it. Also the dump kicking doesn't just happen under pressure, it happens when we have a mark/free kick between the arcs and have time to make a decision. We should be looking for the switch but instead just go long and high, so easy to defend against it is infuriating.

Talking about psychologists Trac desperately needs one so he can realise going back with the flight for a mark isn't a death sentence. He had a freak accident last year, it is almost zero chance something like that will ever happen again.

Rubbish. Next time you're at a game focus on the movement of our forwards and then focus on the movement of the other teams forwards. It was stark last week, ours stand around like statues or try to cheat out the back, Collingwood's were in constant movement to try and create space/chaos and confusion amongst the defenders. The mids are an issue too but the forwards don't make it easy for them, if you move it makes it easier for the mids to kick to your advantage, if you stand still they kick it to you which means you have to stand under the ball and makes it easy for the defenders to jump over the top to intercept/spoil.

Like Fritsch's one that led to a goal? Give me a break, if the players took advantage of their opportunities and played smarter instead of just dump kicking it might be worth raising but with all the issues we have the umpiring is the least of our concerns.

He's right, Max is huge around the ground but consistently let's himself and the team down with his goalkicking. It is inexcusable that it hasn't been fixed, he's kicked what 2.13 or so for the year? Many from within 30m on barely any angle. It's demoralising for the team when that continues to happen.

Umpires had nothing to do with today's result. If it's attention to one of your key players, sort it out on the field. Block for them, give them a chopout, let the opposition know they won't get away with targeting one of your teammates.

To be fair it seemed Turner was on him for the first 3 or 4. Either way, the way the ball was being delivered would've been hard for anyone to defend that.

Our midfield wins it's fair share of footy and clearances, what the coach needs to do is drill into them how to play so they can use the ball to their teammates advantage. Bombing long, kicking on their head, forwards playing too high and trying to double back into space instead of leading at the ball carrier, forwards all standing flat footed when we have a mark/free kick 60m etc etc This is all coaching.

Not just set shots either, look at the one in the 2md where we brought it end to end, Petracca has Melksham one out inside 50 (basically on his own) and I stead of a low flat pass or running forward to allow Melksham time to get back into space or kicking to space for Melksham to run onto the footy he kicks it on his head and lobs it so the defender has enough time to come across and I terveot while Melksham is forced to stand flat footed. They take it end to end and kick a goal. That is not good enough for a $1m+/year senior player.

And no support from teammates (same as the Saints game, no chopouts)

It has to be coaching. As NFL commentator Mike Lombardi says again and again "you're either coaching it or you're allowing it to happen"

Which players are you confident with ball in hand having a regulation set shot? Probably Fritsch, Kozzie and Turner are the only ones and even they're not "put down your glasses" types, more just they're better than 50/50. When I see us kick to a mark inside 50 or goes from "yes!" to "oh [censored] it's Max/Petracca/Viney" etc

Disgusting, our senior players not only butcher the ball with their garbage disposal, they butcher our chances with their idiotic decision making. Sparrow, Max, Petty those misses in the 3rd are unforgiveable. You simply CANNOT miss those dead set sitters. Not good enough from our captain and senior players. Bombing down the line when we needed to switch play to open up the forward line. Horrible. Disco switched forward, now bloody leave him there!!! Petty can get stuffed, he was a little better today but still completely ineffective as a key forward. Get rid of him, TMac or Jeffo in next game. Kozzie did nothing after the HIA, hope he's ok. Melksham, Rivers, Sparrow, Viney, Chandler all useless today. Roo showed a bit early then fell away once he was forced into the ruck. Leave him up forward FFS and let him develop, we are killing him. Forwards stop trying to cheat out the back, lead up to the [censored] kicker. I am ropeable with that performance, back to the same old [censored], we need to turnover a few senior players the game has gone past them. We cannot keep all of Viney, Oliver and Petracca they are all butchers of the footy. We need to trade Petty while someone may still be dumb enough to give us a half decent pick for him.

Umps have been [censored] but we've had a decent run from them as well, can't blame this one on them. Our players are just fair dinkum brain-dead, senior players have lost this one again. How many times does it have to happen before something changes?
