  1. Just for clarification, do you mean Gosch's Paddock when you say AAMI, or do you actually mean within the stadium?
  2. Send Mitch round with a blowtorch and a hammer.
  3. I can see your argument rpfc but I'm unsure if you have a reason for the opinion or its just general negativity. Given ND opens him to the risk of Port picking him up (as they have threatened) the PSD does offer him benefits if his true goal is returning to Vic. Given he holds the choice, persuasion is possible.
  4. Correct. My point moreover is that we may be the lesser of two evils. If he wants to play in Victoria, we can help him with that. Obviously we dont want him if he doesnt want to be here, but why wouldnt you investigate it? Mitch nominated Freo remember.....seems pretty happy now.
  5. I've searched and could only find an article by Jon Ralph back in 2008 that talks about giving players options to go in either draft but its hardly conclusive. Would love if some more worthy 'google'er' could add value.
  6. My statement was based on the kids comments that he wants to return to Vic. Clearly there is something wrong given he was trying to get to North and hasnt already signed. I understood (happy to stand corrected) that he can nominate for PSD, just like Joel Mac did.
  7. We should be all over this kid like a cheap suit. We are his only guaranteed path to play in Victoria next year (via PSD as has been stated). Surprised not more is being said about this in media..... Port have been very very silly here.
  8. Blows me away that with all the risky selections we've had (that havent eventuated), people aren't willing to offload a cusp player to take a chance on a kid who was highly rated for essentially nothing.....
  9. Played 11 in his first year, had glandular fever in preseason 2012 and then returned in rd 8 to play the remaining 14 I believe. rebounding HB and can go through the middle, very highly rated junior that got heaps of it. Given he's joining the one way freeway from Adelaide, Caddy is playing hard to get and Sharon has gone west, shouldnt we be into this kid?
  10. That would be why its a rumour rpfc. And if you dont want to read it there are plenty of other threads, dont shoot the messenger.
  11. Completely unsubstantiated but rumour going around that we offer P4 for Dawes and Wellingham. Provides Pies with something to give for Tippett and clears cap space for Tippett and Giles. Not sure how I feel about it yet but if Viney got to 2nd round you'd have to be pretty happy with the outcome.
  12. Ill have whatever you're smoking. Jamar is getting on (after playing one great year that was an outlier and easing since then), he is going to need a good backup and moreso in future. Spencer has had maybe a half dozen OK games, nothing more. Is not a 1st rucks behind. Gawn looked great and then did his knee, have no basis to rely on him, but here is hoping. Clark has not been bought as a relief ruckman (coach has said it endlessly) Martin has not shown enough yet to make me think he's a ruckman and looks set to leave anyway (so be it). He's done just OK at chopping out in the ruck but has never damaged when forward. Fitz has not shown anything near being a 2nd ruck at AFL level, but again happy to watch him develop. So if Giles (a tall, goal kicking, mature bodied, good tap ruckman) is possible, then yes please. Why on earth wouldnt we take the better player and delist / move on those that fall by the wayside?
  13. Can we change this thread title to "some muppet thinks that we are chasing 2nd round picks....."?
  14. Taking 2 17yos would be the riskier option, but without knowing the plans for free agents, mature draftees and trading its very hard to presume anything. If they think Martin / Hogan are better than Toumpas, Grundy, wines, stringer, o'rourke etc surely anything is possible.
  15. That and the compo, but Clark alone would have been worth it.
  16. Thanks, have tracked Hogan and completely agree we should be exploring mini draft picks, was just wondering why there wasn't similar discussion on Martin. Makes more sense now, thanks J_T.
  17. Without derailing this thread, can someone quickly remind me why pick 4 wont be good enough for Jack Martin?
  18. Unrestricted - 8yrs or more on list and wouldn't be in the top 25% of highest paid players at the club. If he was under 8 years he wouldnt be a FA. Happy to stand corrected though.

stuie I agree in principle, but if a member of our staff asked to be released and we didnt, then I suggest you are playing with fire holding on to him and involving him in your process. What the pies are doing is essentially enforcing his "gardening leave" as it is know in financial services, thereby removing his services from the market. It's a dangerous game and poor risk management to keep an important staff member involved if they dont want to be there. I agree it's improper to talk to MFC while employed elsewhere, but it wouldnt take too much to convince yourself you were doing the right thing, if you felt slighted, and thus I wouldnt be surprised if it happened.
  20. You were obviously being too much of an individual Biffen.....
  21. Best thread I've read in months. No coincidence it is completely non MFC related. More similar lack of content disguised in other threads please.
  22. Agreed, on what basis does a club with too many see currency in a mid that wouldnt be in their best 22? Pies are surely after top ups for their backs or youth but not old mids.
  23. We better put you on suicide watch come draft day Olisik. You're quite obviously not going to be happy.
