  1. Yeah, I'd prefer to take someone like Pearce at 34 and leave that PSD #1 to an unknown or a Luke Hodge.
  2. I said this last week, but I wouldn't be surprised if we get close against the Saints. My best mate's Dad got us some tickets for the crown box (best seats in the house!) for the St Kilda game on Sunday and they were pathetic. As soon as they ran through the banner, you could tell they were off. If they play in a similar way against us, we may well upset them too! They were only playing the Roos afterall and we'll have the added incentive of playing for our retirees. I expect this one to be within a couple of kicks. Surely, though, you'd St Kilda would have enough to beat us...
  3. The thing about Brock is he's played his best matches against weaker oppositions (a trait of the Dainher era, IMO). If you look at all those top games from Colin, he's done them against the best teams in the comp. Brock has played well against the likes of Freo, West Coast and Port.
  4. Oh and I'd be pretty disappointed if we didn't draft Trengove. As long as we can convince him to stay in Melbourne, pick #2, please. If he was a Melbourne boy, I'm sure more of us would be saying draft him. As things stand, most of us are saying that anyway.
  5. Was it you, DJ&MH that said we were (rumoured to be) sounding out Pearce? I'd be interested in both Boak and Pearce, but the latter would have to string together some consistent football.

Yeah, I noticed this too, RR. I suspect it had something to do with not manning up Gibbs, Murphy or Judd for most of the game...
  7. I know they're mates, but not sure if they're on Facebook.
  8. This is an interesting point, Geddy Lee. I agree, completely. The number of times he and the FD have done exactly what people have been calling for, selection wise, this season has been astounding. You'd always hope for certain things during the Daniher era, but when you do in the Bailey era, they come true! If this 1 year contract extension turns out to be true, it's perfect. Well done, MFC. Let him get down to work next year, not having to worry about whether or not he's keeping his job. It's all very well to rebuild a list, but you also have to get games into the young kids, before judging the coach. Next year, 6 to 8 or even 9 wins is achievable, when you think we could have easily won 6 or 7 this season.
  9. Hmm, they're both good mates too. That should help.
  10. Apple crumble! No, I think they'll beat us next week and win their first match as well.
  11. In other news, our turn out today was again appalling. I was there though and ran into both Colin Garland and Dennis Commetti. Interesting day in the end, turns out I'm easily taller than Garland.
  12. Yeah, I believe he is what the average person, with half a brain would refer to as a [censored]. Such a small, pitiful little man too. I feel sorry him down there.
  13. Did anyone hear Andy Maher's comments on Channel Ten, at the start of the final quarter? If you've got FOX SPORTS NEWS, turn it on now and you hear him having a go at us for tanking. Coming from a Carlton supporter, I find it very rich. Stupid little [censored].
  14. He'd easily be the weakest defender in the league. The amount of times Neitz killed him was ridiculous (no disrespect to Neita). He's absolutely hopeless. I believe Hawthorn were interested in him, but only because they completely lacked any defenders at the time.
  15. I think you'll find ALL the AFL teams have a lot of players either out injured or playing, but carrying little niggles. In our position, we're simply making sure our squad is ready for 2010. There's not a whole lot to worry about. I think you'd find at least half those on the injured list at the moment, playing if we were pushing for the finals or in them.
  16. Thanks for this article, M_9. Great read.
  17. I know, I feel bloody sorry for him, some of the stuff that gets thrown towards him.
  18. I wonder if we'd keep him on simply because there may not be a stand out captain to take his place? He'll be on the vetrans list and therefore pretty cheap to keep on. Maybe Grimes could get the captaincy in his third year?
  19. Yeah, was talking to his sister last night and she was saying he's just focusing on exams at the moment. Good lad.
  20. Yeah, as a filmmaker myself, I find those type of cliches give me the shits. Pull at the heart strings with some strings...oldest trick in the book.
  21. I'm rather worried about the side we're putting out against The Filth, Mark II. Being a young side themselves, we could easily see the Blues dish up a horror performance. Yes, I know finals footy is on the line this year, but most Carlton supporters can't seriously expect them to make the top 4 this year. They may well, but won't threaten, despite one eyed media reports from Kouta. As poor as Miller has been this year, his omission is at least a little heartening, considering he might have provided us with another target this week. One more week of frantic nail biting and then we should have a relatively relaxed weekend in Round 22...then again, Robbo will be playing his last game and St Kilda, as a rule don't play their best football at the 'G.
