  1. Jimmy is obsessed with untried kids. This is what his posts consistently come back to. Everyone else gets 'emotional' over the AFL quality players we have (I'd argue mere AFL quality is underselling Petty), meanwhile, Jimmy makes the hard calls and speculates on 18 year olds. It's pretty easy from his cheap seats.
  2. I'd be going for Reid if they're interested in our 5. Upgrade 13 to say 7, offer 5 and 7 for 1.
  3. So traded for a F3. Bulldogs will need to acquire more future picks.
  4. He'd be handy, wouldn't he? I think Petty has the capacity to play a similar role for us. He's not as quick or as agile as pre knee Ox, but great hands, great kick, good footy mind, and has good forward craft.
  5. Yes, sorry, mate. Australian Eastern Standard Time.
  6. We have one of best small forwards in the league already in Kozzy. Another 37 goals this year. We just need another Kozzy and and KPF that can kick his 40 odd too. Chandler had a great start to the season and 24 goals is a decent return, but he had two good stretches (rounds 1-8 and rounds 19-23) where essentially pretty much all his goals came in. But he also had 12 games without scoring a goal. That's just not good enough. @binman's of the view we need more goals from midfield. I'm of the view we need more goals from our forwards, particularly our smalls, as well.
  7. Yeah, he needs to find consistency. The back end of his season though was like liability type stuff IMO. That is harsh, but if he could maintain that first half of his season, he'd be an elite small in the game. He went missing far too often in the second half of the year though and failed to hit the scoreboard. We do have to be mindful that he's gone from a few games to a whole season, week in, week out. McVee and JVR struggled at times in 2023 too, so it's all natural. But their drop off didn't seem to be as marked. That said, perhaps that's more about the position Kade plays.
  8. LJ plays better without him. I think they'll be fine and get some picks for him. He'd definitely be a great transition plan for Max though.
  9. Agreed. It's really made me question his position in the 22. He needs to find more consistency or he won't make it.
  10. Maybe, but to me Schultz is a better player. We'll see what another pre season does for Kade, but I'm not convinced he'd be in my starting 22.
  11. I'll be surprised if we don't get Lynch, Hawkins or someone of their ilk.
  12. Bloody good get by Collingwood. Schultz is a gun. Just the sort of player we need.
  13. It depends if the club values the 2023 draft crop as strongly as the 2019 crop.
  14. This was Salem in 2021. Maybe not as offensive, but played a similar role.
  15. Billings is a good user forward of centre, but I wonder if he's a damaging enough user to offset his inability to defend the other way? That would be the question mark I'd have on him. You can't just be a good ball user in the modern game and not be able to defend both ways. You need to be an elite user and be able to wokr both ways or your exploitable. If the club reckons they can get him running both ways, then he'd fill a cheap need as a forward half connector.
  16. Ah, I see it's Fullarton. Just copied it from Dazzle's post. Sorry mate haha.
  17. You compared them to us with Fullerton, hence the grass is greener. I wouldn't say we're cleaning up with Fullerton and McAdams and I wouldn't say Sydney are cleaning up either. Quantity doesn't better quality. But I agree with your sentiment RE filling needs in our list via the draft with elite talent, rather than via fringe players we're deficit in from other clubs.
  18. So Sydney are doing better than us because two of their three imports couldn't get a game for us? Grass is always greener.
  19. Who have they got so far that's anything more than a standard meat and potatoes footballer? Adams and JJ couldn't get games with their respective sides at vital points of the year.
  20. Nah. Sorry. We went out in straight sets two years in a row. Therefore our midfield's [censored], our defence is horrendous and we fluked a flag. It's just pure luck that we constantly win CP and are one of the strongest stoppage teams even with the best contested player in the league missing 10 games. Baby out, bathwater etc. Demonland at its finest. What world are some posters living in? We actually got better without Clarry, so I concur with the last part. We need more balance in our midfield or at the very least more goals from our midfield. But Clarry, Trac, Viney and Gawn as a starting midfield is easily the best in the league. FMD.
  21. But Walsh has done it from day dot. Agree that Butters is now the most damaging player out of all of them.
