  1. Am I right in saying that the list managers pull up stumps at 3pm each day? In which case they do less work than the real estate industry and need to tough it out a little longer in order to get deals done.
  2. I hope all those posters who banged on about 2019 being the super draft, pay attention to this line. I know they won't. Next year will become the new, deep super draft.
  3. Can't believe that some around here wouldn't back this FD by now. Some could argue we paid too much in the Lever deal (not something I advocate), but sometimes you have to pay a bit when you're buying. In the Jesse scenario, as a few posters have already mentioned, we hold the whip and Freo are doing the buying. You watch. They'll pay two first rounders or he'll stay in Melbourne.
  4. Has any footballer ever been banned for life for elbowing? It just sounds like you're looking for reasons to say no that aren't there.
  5. The definition of being on a list because of who his father was. Only in this instance, if I remember rightly, his father recruited him as well.
  6. You watch. Someone like that Muppet Browne will report now that we're trying to get May via trading 2nd and 3rd rounders for a 1st rounder.
  7. I reckon under the right coach their spine has great potential, but their midfield is still bog ordinary aside from Cripps and Curnow. Dow might be okay but with SOS' record could well be a bust too.
  8. I reckon we were told to deadline and we simply haven't leaked Jesse's decision since.
  9. Haha. Lobb has the same value as Jesse. Righto. These gronks crack me up.
  10. All I know is that Cameron Ling dressed up as Ronald McDonald apparently plays Rugby these days.
  11. Only seen this on Facebook so don't know the strength of this, but apparently Robbie Gray may be put on the trade table. Apparently, we're in for his services. Grain of salt but depending on the cost, he'd be a great get. Not sure why we've been linked to him other than being a Victorian.
  12. Naww. Bitters found a wig.
  13. Wow. Brissy. Making their move. They'll do okay in 2-3 years time.
  14. Who is responsible for financial auditing relating to salary cap matters? If they cared about it, the AFL would have a team inside the integrity unit, but I doubt it.
  15. I wonder if Lobb is angling at the new ruck/forward position recently open at West Coast. If you were a Western Australian wanting to go back to your home state, surely you'd prefer to go to West Coast if you could contribute to their side. With Port lodging the FA paperwork for Lycett, if I was West Coast I'd be playing Lobb ahead of Vardy and playing him alongside NikNat.
  16. What a ridiculous salary cap rort.
  17. This seems to be the general consensus now between Melbourne supporters.
  18. O'Rourke was a pick 2 that was traded (with pick 43) after two years to Hawthorn for picks 19 and 40. KK was a pick 5 five years ago who achieved far more in his first year than O'Rourke did in his two years at GWS. Seems like a good, fair trade to me. KK also fits our list profile perfectly.
  19. Because they get banned. I liked RR, E25 and Stuie, but I find myself at odds with him/them on this particular occasion. Hogan hasn't matched Buddy's output yet, but he's only 23 and has much better output to date than many superstar forwards of the past. And as we all know, talls take much longer to hit their straps. I'd back Jesse to win a Coleman one day (at the very least), but at the same time, we have more pressing needs than one gun forward. With our defence being a pressing need, we have Tommy Mac who has stepped into the elite category and a developing Weideman. If we want to win a flag next year or the year after, IMO, we have to bite the bullet and fix our defence as a matter of priority over keeping Hogan. If Jesse wanted to stay, then we'd find another way of getting May, but as this opportunity has presented itself via Jesse's refusal to properly extend his contract, I'm happy to get the maximum compensation out of him - which we will get and even Drags agrees on this point.
  20. Might be a bit of an extremist view on your part then, Drags. ?
  21. Well, there you go @EnterTheDragon. Now you know you must be wrong. The neggy Doctor agrees. The new Kiss of Death on Demonland.
  22. With SOS as list manager and the old boys club remaining, Carlton have a distinctly old MFC, living off past glories vibe about them. I reckon they're in trouble as a club.
