WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Copy and paste, huh?

Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
You really are Demonland's answer to 'old man shouts at clouds'. Also, you're wrong. Again.
- Jack Martin

Cody Weightman (Drafted by Western Bulldogs)
I think they meant a good small forward. Still, it will be a bluff. Not sure we'd openly talk draft strategy on the MFC website. We'll take best available.
-
Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
Kemp for me at pick 3. I reckon Gould seems like a Hurn clone and I'd take him in the Young position who will by gone by that pick anyway.

Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
I reckon there's a strong chance the thinking when we went after a second first rounder was, package two top 10 picks for an A grader at GWS or get two bites of the cherry in the top 10. This way, we'd get one kid who might be able to make a difference in 2020 and the second kid is so good that him sitting out in 2020 due to injury is worth it because of his talent, and in this situation, we'd still have the ability to service our 22 in 2020 with a Gould or Young type. If our recruiters think Green is good enough, I'd be nominating him at 3, then going Kemp at 4 if GWS match and taking Gould at 8.

Jack Martin
If we're talking x factor too, Martin isn't even in the same street as Bennell. The latter has precisely what our midfield lacks, if as you say, he can get on the park.

Farewell Sam Frost
HUSTLERS on the other hand actually makes the most of its story. Besides RZ's performance, JUDY butchers it.

Phantom Drafts
Kemp #3 and Gould at #8 for me. I know we don't address our small forward problem with those picks, but you don't draft for list holes, you draft for the best players.
- Poll: Who do you want with our first two picks?
-
Farewell Sam Frost
Saty's contribution there is as cringey as the end of JUDY. (Don't see JUDY btw)

Jack Martin
I don't think he's the right player for us. I certainly wouldn't pay above average AFL wage for his services.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
Eh? What are you blabbering on about?

Beware of Pick 6!!!
Clarry will be alright.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
I'm happy either way. I'm happy if we take our current 2 top 10 picks to the draft. I'd also be happy to split the picks if we could land 3 top 10 picks.
-
Jack Martin
Where would he sit in your best 22? I can't envisage him at Melbourne unless I can see him in one of your best 22s.
-
Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
Who's the better kick. Young or Gould?
-
Will Gould (Drafted by Sydney)
He looks a beautiful kick going by those highlights. Little bit of pace too. Looks like he could lose 5kgs comfortably and gain a little more speed from that. I think we'll only be looking at him if we split our picks again, as you say, Rusty.

Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
Charlie goes alright. A very good link up player. He doesn't get it a lot yet but when he does, it usually ends up in a score.

2019 AFL National Draft Thread
Sssssh. Don't mention Ash. Mere mention of his name attracts Osilik to threads.

Billy Stretch
It's not his natural position because he isn't good enough in that position. He might have made it as a half forward/ winger where he started, so I'd argue that's his 'natural' position.
-
Jack Martin
I reckon this is the case. So before some go you go mouthing off at 'how could we possibly not be able to afford him', think about this.

Billy Stretch
Thanks for these.

Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
Kemp seems to hit the contest in a similar way to Martin or Oliver. He accelerates into the stoppage, rather than being flat footed. Seems like a natural ball winner for that reason and unlike Oliver, appears to be able to play more time forward, followed by bursts in the midfield. This will suit him coming into the AFL system. It's early, but could have a similar trajectory to Martin. I can see the Bontempelli comparisons too, but will be interesting to see if we're seriously looking at this kid.

Martin is an interesting one, because I'm not entirely sure whether he's built for the system we should be playing. He's slight, I'd say a little weak at the contest, but his positive attributes of poise and skill are a much needed commodity in our forward line. If our FD rate him and decide to go after him, and we can convince him to come, I'll be happy, but I won't be crying into my cereal if we don't get him.
