Simon Goodwin Sacked
Not to mention Brad Green was the deciding vote to ditch Goody. Take a look at that final presser and listen to Green's answer to that question. He says the vote was unanimous. This is why the board is split and it's why we've had mixed messages coming out of the club ever since. In that presser, Green said they believed this list should be playing finals. In the last few days, they've changed the narrative to, oh, we believe we need to take a few steps back and attack a flag in 2-3 years. Well, which one is it? Should we be playing finals or shouldn't we? When you don't have a clear direction and everyone on the same page, that spells disaster for the future. We might get lucky, but I doubt it.

Reuniting with Jennings. I'd like to get Jennings back.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
I find it to be a couch jumping moment. But let's agree to disagree.
-
Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
More likely that the board told him to settle down a little bit in the media after that segment. Hence less jumping on couches, Andy.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Agree with all that. I just think we've got an agreement in place with Buckley already. And we had that in place before we sacked Goody.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
You mean a coach that can win a flag like Goody? Sure, we can talk about Buckley's impressive backs against the wall victories, but it'd be bad faith to not give Goody credit for making a prelim and then winning a flag with one of the most powerful finals series ever. You were a Goody knocker, so I find this post particularly ironic. Grass is always greener, hey?

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Be staggered if it's not Buckley. Given we are seemingly canvassing assistants, that will have the okay from the incoming coach. ie the guy who's been jumping up and down with excitement in the media about our coaching position.

Cam Bruce to Melbourne?
Buckley with a Cam Bruce succession plan? 😉

Trade Targets
Is McCreery still yet to re-sign? He played half a season under Buckley. Could that help or hinder? He'd be very handy IMO.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Well, by your measure, we'd have to rule out Skipworth then, as he's at Collingwood...
-
Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
This is true and he did lay some potential fall back ground work on that OTC segment last night, but I think it's more likely the board have said, cool your jets publicly, so we can be seen to run a coaching search. But who knows.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
She uses a weak argument, but I believe it more likely comes from the fact that we are a mess off field.
-
Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Yes. But I'd be staggered if Buckley wasn't offered the job prior to us sacking Goody. If you're Buckley you're not going to risk putting your name out there unless you're confident of getting the gig. It impacts on your brand to not get senior roles if you go for them and have media love ins about it.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
So this is what people are getting the8r knickers in a knot over? It appears I've heard similar things to Caro. Nothing she says above is that outlandish.

Brad Green and the current board
I'm not saying Caro is right, but she has a long track record of eventually being vindicated on this stuff.

Melbourne Football Club - The CEO
No, he blinked a lot as he spoke though.

Brad Green and the current board
Yep, he was recommended by the AFL too.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Agreed, but looking increasingly like they'd chosen Buckley before sacking Goody. Which makes sense. And the selection panel is about providing cover to the board so that if Buckley fails, they can say their positions are still tenable.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Again, that's the wrong question because Buckley didn't win a flag at Collingwood.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
This feels appropriate for this thread. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1ZWiomRDr8/ Paul Roos, "they can win the flag next year".

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
He won a flag the first time around though.

That too. There's little recent history, Malthouse being the last coach to win having coached elsewhere, but I don't believe there has ever been a coach that failed to win a flag in his first job, win one in his second job. And/or Lindsay.
