  1. St Kilda like to move the ball quickly off half back too and were in the top 4 or 6 when we played them. We completely shut them down. When we're on, our system doesn't allow quick ball movement. It strangles teams. Just as it did Freo. Have you been watching for the last 18 months?
  2. Would have disagreed with you last week mate, thought he panicked multiple times and threw it on the boot and was too slow, but last night he was a very good and got into important positions, and showed poise as you say.
  3. That's just complete guesswork otherwise why use qualifiers like "at a minimum..." and "plus" twice. You're a clown, Jay. At least stick to the fee of 850k or the term of six years.
  4. Sorry, but none of those quotes say loading is "the only thing happening at the club". Most "loaders" believe it's the key reason, not the only reason, a point that has been made numerous times now. So your phrasing was disingenuous there.
  5. Speaking of comedy, Steve, you were a pretty big wrap for poor old Weids weren't you? Mate, again, where has anyone said this? That third quarter was our best defensive effort of the year. Sublime.
  6. Thought Jackson murdered Darcy early on last night. Darcy had a very poor game. He's a very good player though, so I wonder if the Jackson stuff got to him.
  7. Yep spot on. With Gus playing half back interceptor, it undermined Salem's quarterback role IMO. I reckon Rivers and Hunt back there is a really good mix. Hunt still worries me, but he does have the pace to go with the dangerous smalls that basically no one else on our list does (aside from Smith maybe or potentially Bowey). I was convinced Gus would play on the wing tonight, but I was wrong there. Didn't see the midfield move coming. I wonder who comes out for Harmes or is he the unlucky one next week? I wouldn't go tweaking behind the ball again unless we have to RE injury from now onwards. The only move I'd consider is Bowey for Hunt.
  8. Do we have to? Dreadful directing and editing.
  9. Reckon he's simply a lazy, entitled dunce with a lack of football nouse.
  10. Must have been the pow wow. 😒
  11. Yeah, Goody just said Gus will play midfield too.
  12. You realise it's going to be wet tonight, right? Having all those big guys could be a massive mistake for Freo.
  13. I do. I want Melbourne people. But yeah, we will lose players.
  14. You can tell. Our entire midfield (including both rucks) and likely May, Lever and Salem. I mean basically most of them. 🤣
  15. A parochial mob those West Aussies, aren't they? Hilarious.
  16. I think you answered your own question mate. I'd rather keep him back too, but we need forwards, so as a stop gap selection in game or if we suffer injuries like this year, I reckon he'd be very good forward. Edit. I used to be against moving Petty at all, but I've become an advocate for it as we haven't been able to address our KPF issue and Weideman hasn't come on, and TMac's injury has made it painfully clear we need more KPFs.
  17. They mostly killed us for ground balls behind the ball and in their forward half. We haven't been that bad at ground level since 2016 or 2017. I doubt that happens again. Wet weather will make that harder.
  18. Minus May for most of the match and Petty in the second half. Providing we don't have in game injuries, it'll be very different this time...
  19. Having to replace turf the day before a game is unacceptable. This is a multi billion dollar business. It's simply not good enough.
  20. Larkey is one of the better young KPFs IMO. Behind only the Kings, Naughton, Curnow and McKay in the 25 or under.
  21. He's also a popular player that can tag and win his own footy as others have said. Keeping him around seems a similar sort of move to Gus. Important.
  22. This is where I think Disco Turner could be massive for us. If he can hold down a defensive role alongside May and Lever, it gives us that flexibility to use Petty as a high impact swingman.
  23. Why would we want to open more cap space up if Jackson is leaving? He'll open more than enough, surely? And Harmes wouldn't be on big money.
