  1. Surely Tomlinson only moves if he's promised a regular 22 starting position, not a depth position. He's already a depth defender for us that with an injury or two, could find himself playing deep in finals again next year.
  2. I don't. I want to pummel them again next year.
  3. In a big way IMO. Teams will go to town on their aggressive run it through the corridor and kick it to CHF. There's a reason they gave up big scores this year, repeatedly to ordinary teams too. If you take the corridor away from them or can win ground ball or intercept at CHF, they're extremely vulnerable to slingshot goals. Everything went perfectly for them this year. An easy draw from 17th, multiple close finishes and a game plan that teams didn't have enough time to adjust for. Plus a huge wave of momentum. But that will change next year. I reckon they'll be fighting it out for a top 6 spot.
  4. What, the coach whose system has repeatedly failed to yield success despite multiple top 4 finishes and even a GF in QLD?
  5. How the [censored] does Neale get a vote when his side loses by 10 goals? Are you [censored] kidding me? The Brownlow is a joke.
  6. Fancy Andrew Brayshaw getting a vote when he and Freo were completely towled up by us. Then Cripps gets 3 votes when Adelaide beat them by 5 goals. WTF?
  7. I wonder if yesterday's result will change Collingwood's list management vis a vis Grundy?
  8. Clearly Roffey has pushed Mach5 in a puddle or something as he used to be one of my fav posters. Now, our time at the top is likely over because another president doesn't like Roffey. I mean FMD.
  9. I doubt Tim Lamb and any club is really giving up much in a doco though.
  10. Pressure rating is the key stat. Our system is impregnable when our pressure rating is up. We have to replace Jackson, so Grundy makes sense.
  11. Not that past trades matter at all, but Peter Moore.
  12. Bombing to the pockets is a percentage play so we don't get hurt on slingshot. It's one of the reasons we've conceded the least points against in the league. If we can get our forward pressure and midfield pressure up again, it's still a good play. Higher pressure will also mean we turn the ball over closer to goal and we won't need to bomb it long and hopefully.
  13. Particularly when they're only his second and third years. Kozzy is a star.
  14. We also aren't made aware of every potential as well...
  15. It wasn't just you actually mate. A few posters seemed to have missed my attempt at humour. I shall refrain from trying any humour henceforth.
  16. I agree. He just didn't kick his goals, otherwise he'd have been in our best players.
  17. If you've followed my posts in the past, you'll know that I think the idea of Melksham getting games (or in this case contracts) based on his alleged friendship with Goodwin, is a farcical and ridiculous proposition.
  18. I didn't think it was a particularly nasty jab at those suggesting Melksham was extended due to his supposed friendship with Goodwin. More humorously sarcastic. I don't think I could have been more obviously sarcastic, but apparently a few think I have very good connections in the FD, so much so that they'd let me report that list management meeting from Rye.
  19. Haha, mate, come on. If you can't see that I was being heavily sarcastic, I can't help you. I wasn't in the room at Rye reporting what they said, I was poking fun at the ridiculous notion that Goodwin's friendship with Melksham had him extended for 2023...
  20. Just wait for it. GNF is thinking up a wonderful riddle right now that involves Naughton to Melbourne.
  21. Yep, I reckon you're spot on. I can just see our list management strategy meeting down at Rye. Tim Lamb: So, do we keep Melksham everyone? Jason Taylor: I think it might be time to go back to the well and see what we can get from draft instead. Alan Richardson: I agree. Let's cut him. Simon Goodwin: Hang on a second guys. I'm really good mates with Melky. Tim Lamb: Oh yeah. You are too. Alan Richardson: Good point. Maybe we keep him. Jason Taylor: Yeah, fair enough. I was forgetting you guys were good mates, Goody. Let's keep him. Stuff the draft pool.
  22. Great post mate. We couldn't win ground balls and contests in the air in the second half of the season. We're a team that relies on controlled chaos. Force teams to dump kick, where we take intercepts or we mop up ground balls. We're not a pin point disposal team, so if we don't win enough ground balls or contests in the air, our game falls apart.
  23. That's about pressure at the ball carrier though. Get that right and teams start kicking it back to our interceptors. including potentially Max.
  24. This is about the best post on this thread. Max behind the ball frees up May, Lever and Petty significantly and brings their intercept into the game, as teams will need to avoid Max at all costs. It could also mean we could afford to shift Petty forward and play Turner in his place. If Grundy is fit, it could be a master stroke.
