AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I've shifted away from Lindsay. Love his kicking, but too many question marks over his ball winning ability. If Grjl is available I'd take him and Dovaston and that's a great injection of pace for a game style that is going to need it. The beauty of the game style McRae brought to Collingwood is the speed of ball movement was helped by 3 or 4 elite kickers they have, but all their speed forward of centre from the likes of McCreary and Hill was devastating. We already have Windsor and Kozzy's pace out of the middle, with Langdon's running power, Lindsay, Langford and Bowey's kicking. Pair this with an injection of pace from Dovaston and Grjl, and injuries permitting, we look very different next year, and not incapable of playing a fast, accurate slingshot game.

How about you wait until the draft is over before you make statements like this?

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
LJ wasn't in Cal's October 2019 top 10 and Kozzy wasn't in his top 30...

I think we'll be mid table.

Zero Hanger have us in the bottom 2 next season because of the loss of Clarry and Trac, and even McVee. I can't imagine we'll be bottom 2... Zero HangerCollingwood gun in AA contention after absence, Melbourne...An early look at some of the big tales that could unfold next year.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I think he could have an A grade ceiling at half back...

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
If we did this deal, it'd tell us very clearly what JT thinks of this draft crop, and potentially what he thinks about the next. When we traded out of this year's draft last year, we also would have been aware of the likelihood of Trac requesting a trade again this year (despite pizzas) and would have planned to get back into this year's first round via picks from Trac. This sort of planning would almost certainly be done.

So he's changed his stance.

As a mid or a half back? I hope you're right.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
They definitely could be, but I still think we need more. I think Turner could be A grade, Kozzy is A grade, depending on how long Max stays around, he's A grade. So there's 5 guys. I hope Windsor keeps developing. I'm not sure where his ceiling is though. Max won't be around for much longer, but I'm still hopeful 2027 is a finals year for us.

Training Ground?
I know it's dealing with the Glen Eira Council who are notoriously slow, however if the state government are involved, I would expect planning to not suffer the same hurdles as you, and thus be expedited.

Just my opinion of course...

Farewell Christian Petracca
Well, Max hopes Clarry can win a Brownlow next year. He said no such thing about Trac...

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I agree. So we either go Humphrey again next year or hope we can land one with our two first rounders next year. I actually think we're two A graders short. But anyway, time will tell.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I'm not convinced there's a superstar in this draft anyway. I think we'll get two very good players from the top 10 that will make us better, but there's no Oliver 2015 or Trac 2014 in this draft that I can see. You could see them ooze class and contested ability at underage level. There's no one of that calibre this year. The club have intimated as much previously and even looking at the recruiting videos of last year's crop, there's no one that gets close to say Xavier Lindsay from this year's class.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I'd be going Dovaston, Lindsay and somehow Pickett.
-
Lachy Dovaston
He's the one I want in our forward pocket next year.
-
Sullivan Robey
I don't get Clarry at all. I get Jarrod Berry if anything.

And already missed footy due to concussion. That's the bigger red flag IMO.

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Kozzy is not a particularly fair yardstick. He's an A grader, I'd argue and A+ grader. I think Dovaston could well become an A grader. He has some elite traits and I love his energy and game sense.

Any experienced players worth picking?
We're good. We have leadership across every line. Backs have May, Lever, Turner and Salem. Forwards have Mihocek and Melksham. Mids have Steele, Viney and Max. That's enough for now. Let the kids grow.

Ah, see ya later then.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Someone wrote on here in the last few weeks that JT told Dovaston to take it easy so he didn't jump too high up the draft order. If this is true, Dovaston would be a lock for one of our picks. This is my thinking and hope.

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Well, as per the Combine, he has elite agility, which is a good start. Small forwards are becoming the most important players in the modern game. Kozzy, Watson are just two stars taken in the top 15.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
That's insane. That article was at the end of October too! So less than a month later, Kozzy jumped from the late 2nd round to mod 1st round. JT absolutely nailed that draft.
