  1. Kozzy butchers the footy by foot. He's brilliant around goal, but turns it over a lot further up the field.
  2. Ben Crowe was billed as a mindfulness mentor, but I always viewed Shand and Crowe's involvement as tokenistic and PR related. No idea where Crowe went. It clearly didn't work. Fitness and psychology would be top of my list for next year, along with a good tactical coach.
  3. I find the moving on of club psychologist Stephen Rendall very interesting. It's clear we need something new in the psychology space. A new coaching voice is a start, but there'll be some pretty major reprogramming needed of some senior players. I wonder if the view is we need a new psychological voice too. @Engorged Onion
  4. Agreed. Never really in that.
  5. Good list management, Tim Lamb. @Slartibartfast , you must be having a party. A Slarti party. 👍
  6. My old man started in insurance. I tell him regularly it's a rort of an industry. Soon, the government will be the only player.
  7. I suspect he could be best available as our midfield coach. But I guess I wouldn't really know.
  8. He had a couple costly turnovers, but in 1v1s May was still very good. I didn't really understand the May bashing this week. That said, he shouldn't be a lock for 2026 and I said earlier in the year we'd be struggling this year if he was still in the best 22 by the end of '25. Lever, likewise.
  9. I'd argue we were in the North game too. The deficit at 3/4 time was 18 points and we'd butchered multiple inside 50s chances (see Viney), but were creating plenty of slingshot chances in that third quarter. We just [censored] the bed in the last.
  10. Really hoping for Bruce as the senior assistant. It helps he's Melbourne and understands the club, but has more importantly gone away to successful (Hawthorn ans Brisbane) and non successful clubs (Carlton), rather than stayed in the MFC pond.
  11. Dannyz has a pretty long track record of inside Intel.
  12. That's Selwyn's background. Injury management.
  13. Well, we know who the better footballer is, but we also know who the better leader is.
  14. Well that's because you have to pay overs (generally) to woo other players over. And we're not a sexy destination without Caulfield built. It's partly why I think our list management strategy has been to draft top end talent, rather than hope to land it paying overs like St Kilda allegedly do.
  15. We don't actually know this though.
  16. What I loved about last night, and there was a lot to love, was that clutch contested mark at half back. The pressure was ratcheting up at that moment in the game, and he stepped up and took a contested mark when we really needed it. It was very Bontempelli.
  17. And the board, specifically Green, said we'd know about the success or otherwise of the business case for Caulfield by mid 2025. So I'd suggest Green and Guerra should be expected to have something for us in the next 3-4 months at the latest. There has been no update on Caulfield for months, so we can only take them on their word that the business case would be known by now. The fact we know nothing is concerning IMV. We need to have it okayed before the start of 2026. Ideally now, so we can approach opposition players with a home base on the horizon.
  18. The idea that someone will have a good season because their coach was their childhood hero is laughable. The players loved Goody and yet they struggled for consistency for 2 years. It means little.
  19. Remembering that the bones of this team played a chaos game for 4 years prior to 2020. So I don't think it's an inability to embrace the chaos. It's an inability to execute when the game goes up a notch and an inability to know when to change gears.
  20. It was practically a carbon copy of the GWS game in Round 1. We have to learn how to win close games and know when and when not to flick the switch.
  21. At least he's hit the ground running. 6 months after they said he would. Fantastic.
  22. Son, @Engorged Onion, can you please provide your services to our football club? Whoever is team psychologist is struggling to get the job done.
  23. It's just about consistency though. If you're going to pay it against Kozzy, you have to pay it against Cameron. I wouldn't have paid it either time.
  24. Clarry was our best player for mine and it was easily his best game since 2023. 9 score involvements, 1 goal assist at 87% with 19 handballs from 30 disposals. He was really good. High damage and low turnover count with only 3 from 30. Interesting thing was only 2 clearances though.
  25. Kozzy had a free. kick paid against him for exactly the same thing earlier in the game.
