  1. Kozzy is not a particularly fair yardstick. He's an A grader, I'd argue and A+ grader. I think Dovaston could well become an A grader. He has some elite traits and I love his energy and game sense.
  2. We're good. We have leadership across every line. Backs have May, Lever, Turner and Salem. Forwards have Mihocek and Melksham. Mids have Steele, Viney and Max. That's enough for now. Let the kids grow.
  3. Ah, see ya later then.
  4. Someone wrote on here in the last few weeks that JT told Dovaston to take it easy so he didn't jump too high up the draft order. If this is true, Dovaston would be a lock for one of our picks. This is my thinking and hope.
  5. Well, as per the Combine, he has elite agility, which is a good start. Small forwards are becoming the most important players in the modern game. Kozzy, Watson are just two stars taken in the top 15.
  6. That's insane. That article was at the end of October too! So less than a month later, Kozzy jumped from the late 2nd round to mod 1st round. JT absolutely nailed that draft.
  7. As things stand, I'd prefer no Lever or May in 2027, so it'll be interesting to see how Lever goes in this new system.
  8. Still a bit early but here is what I'd roll with (Dovaston a lock for mine in the draft): AMW Petty Lever Bowey Turner Salem Langdon Rivers Windsor Kolt Mihocek Chandler Dovaston JVR Fritta Max Kozzy Langford CJ Lindsay Steele Viney Heath
  9. Interesting idea.
  10. Yes, he is, but I reckon they'll bring in a ball movement and/or stoppage coach too.
  11. There's no way we go just with Jones as midfield coach next year. He's too green.
  12. Fascinating. The most interesting detail is this for me: "The soft cap for Goody was taken care of in this year,” confirms Guerra. “That’s been sorted. So we have got a clear (2026) cap."
  13. You can make it at AFL level without pace. That's a great truism. If you're not tough enough though you can't lift it a notch or two and be competitive. I'm not talking necessarily about Ollie Greeves, I'm speaking generally. But we'll agree to disagree.
  14. A couple of nuggets for me out of some of the social media content recently. 1) Richo is quite involved and I just wonder whether he could be ying to King's yang. He didn't seem to work as the nice guy to Goody's nice gut, but if King is a bit of a hard [censored] and Richo is the good cop, they might just work nicely together. 2) There is a quote from Guerra that strongly implies that Lamb was not happy with the state of the list. I find this very intriguing given he's been at the helm the whole time. It suggests to me that he wasn't happy with some moves and was potentially overruled. Guerra said: "It's a reset, as you said it's hard to farewell a couple of champions, but I think it sets the club up. As Tim (Lamb) has been demanding of us, to make sure that we put the club in a better position. I think at the end of 7.30pm today, the club will be in a better position." 3) I haven't noticed King in any of this content. Goody would often feature. It's not necessarily a good or bad thing. But I wonder if King is very much about trusting the list management team to do their job and leaving them to it. Or whether there's actually been a conscious decoupling between list management and the wider FD during the trade period.
  15. Lindsay and Dovaston for me. A forwardline of: Kolt Mihocek Chandler Dovaston JVR Fritta With Langford, Viney and others resting forward is nice.
  16. IMV, you can't really learn it. You either have it or you don't.
  17. I'm sure King was pretty important too.
  18. Which might have some more validity if he was bringing in a host of genuine A graders. He's maxing out their cap with BOG average, at best, B graders.
  19. That's definitely some raining. Thanks for that.
  20. Jack seems like a top bloke. I heard he's not a particularly demonstrative leader, but he seems to just ooze class and respectability. And we have other blokes who are more demonstrative if needed. But wowee, what have St Kilda done to their culture? If I was a St Kilda player prior to this year, I'd be thinking WTF.
  21. I wonder if it's toughness. I used to coach him as a junior. He's turned into a big boy, a nice kick with a Cripps-like frame, but he reminds me of Smillie from last year's crop. What do you think, @ChaserJ ?
  22. Xavier played as a legitimate midfielder. Josh plays as a definitive half back.
  23. I agree. I was pushed a video of his highlights from a game yesterday and it was full of turn overs and poor decision making. But his championship video from memory is pretty good. What are your thoughts on Josh Lindsay? He'll be around our picks. Just about every touch is a handball receive, but he can take a contested mark. His kicking is sublime though. On any angle, he can hit it, though only on the left foot it seems. But some good run and carry too. Dovaston is the other guy, again likely available around our pick, has good energy, probably lacks the class of a Watson, but could be a more than handy player at AFL level, pushing into the front of stoppage from half forward. From what I've seen, he's very clean below his feet. JT allegedly really likes him.
  24. Sure, a late first round pick is more favourable than a F3, but to my understanding the salary absorbed by Geelong would be no more or less than what GWS have taken on...
  25. I agree mate. Shall we activate the GF guarantee for 2027? I think so.
