  1. If playing jeffy, or other passer by, gets us artificially up the ladder... and cost us a Hayden Young, Lachie Ash, or a Dylan Stephens/Caleb Serong. I will go berko, after this wasted season. Too much wasted already, to give up a top 6 pick for something lesser.... unless we traded say a pick 4 or 5, for two 1st Rnd picks. And a classy sounding forward... Dylan Williams.
  2. Did you drop,,, or forget Tracca ?
  3. Because its simply how that poster thinks and feels. Which encompasses a whole lot of things unsaid by poster. It doesn't hurt anything.
  4. Yep, absolutely Rusty. The first part (of rebuilding the Demons), is to get the 'hard-at-it' types, into the club, and onto the field... and 'in-grain' that Ethos, into our DNA/culture as a club... and that is an ongoing thing. Following on from there, is the next layer... to add those missing pieces, that are Too-Often, the softer types of AFL young players. When these kids come into a club with Strong combative/competitive head-over-the-footy requirements, the rest falls into place more readily. Start them off, the way we should have always done. They do not get a game until they are doing these { non-negotiable's }, as an instinct, prior to putting on the RednBlue jumper. So, then we have our in-unders and the outside types all maintaining that standard, across the club. : see why 'jeffy' has been struggling for games in the past 2 years. He has played too much as a front runner, and not responsible anywhere near enough. Allowing uncontested marks to be taken in the goal-square, when he is our only player in there. That is not good enough when he lets that happen. He has to jump and get body on body to at least make them earn the mark. Not stand down, hoping for a miracle, for the ball to end up in his hands.
  5. We will need to play him (Dunkley), at some stage this year, If he appears worthy... or risk losing him at end of season. If we are to play him, surely we will have to elevate him to the senior list. In my mind, this then makes him a Demon... and would require a transfer for him to be stolen by another club.? .
  6. I was thinking at that moment, after the game, that this will be Weides making... coming of age. This will be his spur, to drive him forward. I'm not unhappy, to this this occur. As I think the outcome will be all Up.
  7. TMc shouldn't be playing deep... unless its following the ball back. Or just in front of transition, coming from the Midzone. Tmc has to play high, outside F50. He should be like a Winger, like last year, and the year before, when he went on-ball. Weide and tSmith are a better balance imv, either with or without Preussy. If Preuss plays in this setup, TMc starts on the Wing... but only when he's running strongly. somethings NQR with him atmo. I reckon foot area ?
  8. I reeks of us still building the list imo, 'RN'. Its not amateur... its intent. Deeliberate. I'm sure they see Spargo as part of our future, as we all saw last season. Our list is not ready to be playing finals with regard to taking some silverware... without the necessary injection of runners onto the list. We don't have the list, Yet... to be a power club for a generation. Let alone take a cup home. But we are closer than the mid 90's, imv.
  9. They said that the Demons wouldn'y fly in China. Maybe we could have become the Dragons... or perhaps 'the Scorpions', might have been more to their tastes ?
  10. He did the same with Weide. Just slowly blooding him, and showing him the AFL game, and it shows Spargo, what he needs to get stronger at.
  11. It's time for him to go back to Casey to learn to stand on his own in defence. And to learn to become more offensive and more intense.
  12. This is the problem of whats been befitting this club for 50yrs. It's the inner styled thinking, of what those who are already entrenched into our existing old culture, think and feel.. It allows NO room, for others to grow from different areas around the club, with different interests to those of frequenting stuffy styled inside Mcg bars, for liquor, or some sort of tweed status. Many would like to meet outside the Mcg, Adjacent to their transport, on the way to and from the Mcg... where they can enjoy the feel of the outside world, with views of park lands, rather than being Kept inside the 'G's' cauldron. An outside facility means the people can sit and or stand and relax having gotten off the train, and also prior to catching their train homeward. The opportunity is here for this facility now... that would suit both training days, and game days, with us situated on Gosch's. The Mcg is too far from the station, for those who would like to get comfortable and eat, drink, or seek friendly like-minded Demons comapny, following leaving the ground... And immediately adjacent to the train that awaits them. This is where the numbers for growth will come from... this is where most numbers travel to and from the 'G', Re our traditional supporter areas and new Casey area... Richmond Station. We need to grow the support base from new people, and eventually new memberships will grow from this. Just thinking of what suits the same old, same old, is what has failed us in the past... Because 'the old' does not want Any change. Growth happens from change. Decay happens from not refreshing, not changing. We've been decaying for 50 Years... trying to stay just as we are, and has been. .
  13. And the numbers of viewers who want to watch those clubs, compared to us. The more 'we all' want to watch those power-clubs on the telly... the more we shoot ourselves in our own troublesome feet.
  14. That little rectangular piece of training ground is easier to move, than the pathway thru the middle of Gosch's, g.o.t.o. It could easily be placed where the 'Oval' is now, alongside Punt Rd. Or it could even go to, https://www.google.com/maps/place/Old+Scotch+Oval,+Melbourne+VIC+3004/@-37.8228071,144.9777385,1247m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x6ad642be8381f843:0xfd59321cdd14bf6d!8m2!3d-37.8227429!4d144.9801151
  15. Is this a red herring ? Matthews would do a great interim job, for 2 Yrs. But this might be just a distraction from the obvious, connecting of Scott and the timing.
  16. I'm not aiming this at the senior team, 'ET'. But to teach/support our younger players, as they enter the club. He doesn't have to be head coach of Casey... and certainly not Melbourne. ................................... And seriously, I can't draw any comparison between Neeld and Bolton... One was needed to crack a rotten soft club open like an egg, to to break it's cultural hold... and rebuild it's mind-frame, like the Army does with it's incumbents. He wasn't allowed to get there to that point because of lacking faith in the concept. ... the other was a nursery school teacher for a club in infancy... whilst they're business model, was to cast a wide-net as possible, to capture as many infants as they could muster... until they thought they could take the world by storm. Lets just see now how they go, in the following 12 months time. .
  17. How do you know, they don't already have him locked away ?
  18. Not a silly idea 'TT', I reckon. He's a teacher of kids, just not a coach of men, imv. And he knows that list like the back on his hands. They will be a powerful list, in a short time.
  19. Don't let their tanking fool you, 'CJK'. ... they couldn't wait until the Mid-Season draft paseed buy. Now the 'merry-go-round' begins in earnest... and we will start to see the real truth take shape.
  20. HaHa Beez. have you been into the ether, OS, or similar ?
  21. And, IF you want to Win, as you say, in 2020, 2021... what do you do ? Play him now, or play younger ones, to see if they are worth keeping, or giving some others, experiences for their futures ? Maybe Garlett (29-9mths), will play this week..? but IMO winning from here on, means little, when Its as obvious as the nose on peoples faces, that we need certain types of players, to actually improve, and improve quickly. We have 'May' (27-4mths), for around 3 or maybe 4 Yrs, from this season. So IMO, we will have a window of time to do some magic, from next season and on, until 2022ish... with this current List. And our current crop of Key Mature players. TMc (26-8mths) Gawn, (27-5mths) Jetta, (29-3mths) Hibbo, (29-4mths) So should we just keep eyes lowered ? Or should we raise the sights, for next year and on, in the know that we are lacking for certain types of players...?
  22. He's earned another game... don't know about the season, 'PF'. ... and some have been calling fr him to be delisted. untried. This is the point.. same with Maynard. We 'Need', to check these players out, now the season is toasted, for us.
  23. Spot on Jaded. ... can I quote. "a blessing in disguise" ? We are still building and adding layers. We have our underwear on. Now for the nest layer.
