  1. After seeing the ins for me it's IN: Cheney, Grimes OUT: Bartram, Meesen
  2. I also remember Nathan Brown's debut out there with long blonde hair back in 98!
  3. So does that mean that Victoria Park (as terrible as that place was) would also be able to host matches if able, seeing as that ground was still in use when Docklands came in?
  4. Agree with what all of you have posted. Some major work needs to be done on both the parking and public transport out there. And I'm not convinced that they'd get more then 12,000 to those sorts of games out there. Makes you think it'd almost be worth their while doing up Casey?
  5. I've been reading up on the whole stadium deals of late and that the main problem appears to be Docklands rather then the MCG as such. What I want to know is if the AFL took a hard stand and moved games that draw a low crowd and moved them to Princes Park (which for Melbourne would be 5 games this year) how many people would actually go? Or would we be betetr off staying at the MCG for these games if only 10,000 would turn up at Princes Park. I for one would still go to Princes Park, and I'd like to think my reserve seat membership I get for the MCG would carry over at PP but would other people also? Or would we be better selling home games to Belrieve Oval Hobart?
  6. Voted. But what a bunch of horse sh*t it all is! We're the third oldest football club in the world, we ain't going nowhere!
  7. Only other option apart from Martin with Johnson seeing as Spencer and Jamar are both still injured also would be to elevate Zomer. Not that I think he deserves it but he can ruck if need be.
  8. I orig posted IN: Grimes, Whelan OUT: Bartram, Bennell For the reason that I want us to be careful at how we manage Bennell for his first season (although I do love him and think he'll be a gun). I still stand by those changes but now with the injury to Meesen I'd add IN: Spencer (if fit, if not Cheney) OUT: Meesen If Spencer weren't fit and Cheney played we could look at Martin playing forward (as previously suggested) pinch hitting in the ruck and Bate possibly going to defence to play as the 4th tall?
  9. Terrible news for both of them and wish them both the best in their recovery, especially Meesen who really was starting to show something. Hopefully Spencer will be right to take his spot for sunday's match.
  10. Well I'm still yet to hear anything out of the club so I'm crossing my fingers that it isn't true/ And even if it is surely Meesen's shown enough to stay on our list next year. Jamar's the one in most doubt for next year and beyond.
  11. Jackson is nothing but a joke! He was as AFL president and he is now. The way his love child Port Adelaide is going perhaps they should be the ones to merge with North Melbourne?
  12. Very harsh on Martin in my opinion. I thought he was good. Should leave him in defence though.
  13. I see your reasoning, however I'd suggest Rivers just needs the correct match up, say for example Hansen. They had him on Varcoe at one stage in the 2nd term and Varcoe was to far to quick. When he was moved onto Mooney in the 3rd he kept him quiet until Mooney got some junk time marks in the final term.
  14. Would a move to the forward line be injection Bruce needs. Started his career as a forward, he could well be of better use along side Robbo, Petterd, Miller and co?
  15. Firstly it is my understanding that Jurrah is already on our senior list so we wouldn't need to promote him, although Valentti may very well be promoted so you are right about having two rookies added to our senior list (Valentti/Spencer). As Belzebub59 said Bruce is contracted so he wont be delisted till the end of 2010 at earliest. Will McDonald retire after only one season as captain? I'd suspect he may go on one more year but that will be a decision for Bailey and co so you may be right there? As for Robbo I think he showed on sunday he's far from done yet. Again I'd think he'll be around for next year also at least. I do suspect however you may be right about Whelan sadly. And I definatly agree with you over Bell and Jamar and maybe even add Wheatley? Also throw in Sylvia and Dunn as trade bait?
  16. Now not that I think these players are dead wood but what will happen with Matthew Whelan and Paul Wheatley this year? At the start of the year I would of had them in our starting 18 for sure however with the emergence of players like Frawley and Bennell will there be a spot for them when they are fit? Further more with both of them nearing 30 is there still a future for them at our club or are they on the dead wood list?
  17. The only potential two I'd add to those four you've mentioned are Jamar (with Spencer to come off the rookie list and Meesen and Johnson possibly now ahead) and Sylvia. He'd be potential trade bait. Say for example Collingwood had pick 10 they may look at Sylvia and pick 18 for pick 10? Then again it will mainly depend on how Sylvia goes for the remainder of the season.
  18. In that case we'll have to hope Port Adelaide beat us at the G. Back to 4!
  19. While I've got no doubt he does have the ability yo play on the tall forwards he probably wont need to as other members of out back line will be able to do that. With Warnock, Rivers, Garland and Martin also to make up our back line (along with Bennell) Frawley will most likely play on the 4th tall, able to play on taller forwards if Warnock, Rivers or Martin were to miss any games.
  20. While we have made some poor trades in the past I'd like to think we wouldn't do one as bad as that. hehe. The only player that I'd even consider trading pick 2 for would be Vickery.
  21. Do feel for him, mind you I think Watts will be a CHF rather then FF. When Melbourne draft Butcher that will be Newton's biggest competition. And if Newton could kick straight he'd still be in Melbourne's side. Should oh had 4 against the Tigers and 2 against the crows.
  22. Lets hope Robbo can kick at least 40 for the year and continue to give us someone to go to for the rest of the year.
  23. 1. Landing two major sponsors. Was a major win for the club to secure some financial stability for the next three years. 2. General on field performances. We have had a crack every week so far and have improved out of sight (not that it would be difficult to improve on last year). 3. Emergence of Frawley, Martin and Bennell down back along with Rivers getting through 6 matches straight. We're slowly developing a premiership winning defence. 4. Jack Watts goal on staurday in the VFL. Nothing but class! 5. Our win over Richmond, don't think I need to explain.
  24. No wins, no injuries and to see the return to the side of Whelan, Wonna, Grimes and Green. No ten goal defeats. We need to save our three remaining wins for West Coast round 14, Port Adelaide round 15 anf Fremantle round 20. QB clash would be nice to be a one kick ball game.
