  1. Yeah, but there's nothing to stop Melbourne, GWS & GC coming to an agreement before hand. GWS don't bid on Viney because they know that we'll give them pick 3 for a MD pick they have to trade. GC don't bid on Viney so they can trade pick 2 also for MD pick. We get Viney 2nd round. Everyone wins! And worst case scenario and GWS do bid on Viney, don't be suprised to see Neeld call GWS's bluff. It was the last regime that committed to Viney. If Neeld see's an openning to getting say both of Toumpas and Grundy or something like that I wouldn't be suprised if he took it and GWS are left with Viney at Pick 1.
  2. Pick 3 will likely be a question of either Toumpas, Grundy or Hogan. If they can't split them then it will become a question of needs to the playing group, to which I think it would go key forward, outside midfielder, ruckman. May also depend on what type players we're looking at through free agency.
  3. What was it KB and Ralphy were saying? I find it amazing that KB can pay out on any team! Has anyone ever rang him up on SEN to remind him that his beloved Tigers have played in the finals twice in the last 30 years!!!
  4. I agree to a fair extent. When Cornelius played this year for Brisbane however, he mainly played at FF with Brown at CHF. Personally I think Cornelius is moreof a natural CHF where he can lead up a bit more and use his aerobic capacity where as at FF he's in a lot more pack situations. Seeing as we have Clark at FF i reckon he'd be a good CHF for us. And worst case scenario and he doens't work out and we get Hogan in the mini draft, then we have a replacement straight away. We could try that. But as has been mentioned elsewhere, it may be an in principle agreement between Melbourne, GWS & GC. We give them pick 3 and they wont nominate Viney, we give them pick 4 and they do. GWS happy cuase they get the first 3 picks and take Whitfield, Toumpas, Grundy. GC happy cause they get pick 1 in the MD and take Martin We're happy because we get pick 2 in the MD and take Hogan and can use pick 4 on either O'Rourke or Wines who are the type of players Neeld would love and we get Viney in the 2nd round! Edit: We get Viney 2nd round.
  5. I reckon he's alright. Kicked 13 goals in 8 games this year including two bags of 4. Averaged just over 4 marks a game and 9.5 disposals. He's a true lead up CHF who struggles to get a game because of Brown, and he is still only 22. I'm not saying he's a world beater, but with the new location and some work he could become a servicable player for us. Hell 13 goals in 8 games and he would have been one of our leading goal kickers in less then half a season!
  6. Haha, yeah sorry I should have specified that shouldn't I. I've heard that GC are keen on Martin so will offer Pick 2 which would mean that our Pick 3 would get us Hogan.
  7. Certainly wasn't useless. In fact I remember one commentator in 2002 saying they though Jolly was the best no 2 ruckman going around. He had a form slump in 2004 and if I'm not mistaken requested a trade in which we got a top 15 draft pick.
  8. Riv is an unrestricted free agent, not restricted. So he can walk anywhere and we don't get the chance to match the offer.
  9. I love Williams desire. He's competative and does all the 1%'s. The only concern I have over Williams is that for a KPF, in all the VFL game's I've gone to I haven't seen him take many contested marks/pack marks which is something that you'd ideally want in a key forward. I have no issue with him having another year on the rookie list mind you and seeing how much more he can develop.
  10. Cheers BB. That's exactly the point I was making. Bailey was the coach when it was suggested that Morton was drafted in Daniher's time. I don't dispute that Craig Cameron was there.... Anyway Cook has been really disapointing. I've stuck up for hima few times but I posted after Casey's match against Northern Blues that he was really disapointing and I thought he was in trouble from there. At least it looks like the clean out is starting once and for all. Lets hope Neeld can get the right players in whether that's through Free Agency, Trades or the draft.
  11. Will be shattered if he goes but will not hold it against him after 10 years and 150 games of great service. We do have the tall defenders to cover him which is something at least.
  12. Danyle Pearce (FA) Jordan Russell (FA) Jarred Moore (FA) And others that I reckon we'll see include: Koby Stevens (TRADE) Aaron Cornelius (TRADE) Jesse Hogan (Pick 3 on traded for Pick 2 in the MD) Jonathon O'Rourke (Pick 4) Dayle Garlett (Pick 13) Nathan Wright (late 1st round draft pick received from trade of Jordan Gysberts to Geelong) Kristian Jaksch (late 1st round draft pick received from trade of Stef Martin & our 3rd round pick to Collingwood) Jack Viney (2nd round draft pick F/S) Paul Marschall (4th round draft pick) Dan Nicholson to be upgraded with our 5th round pick also. But the main three who I expect to see are certainly Pearce, Russell and Moore. Call it being very optimistic!
  13. Actually Morton was our very first player drafted in the Bailey era.
  14. I'm 50/50 on him. Has a lot of talent and can be a very good player, but I'm not convinced at the defensive side of his game. Could be useful on a wing. I'd prefer we get either Jarred Moore or Shannon Byrnes as free agents to play the roving forward pocket role or maybe trade for David Ellard?
  15. Thanks for the info HG. Maybe a trade of Gysberts for Brown at Geelong would work, although I'd love to keep the Gys. Will also be shattered if Rivers walks, but we do have the tall defenders to replace him, and he's been a great servant of the club so I wouldn't hold it against him chasing some success. On the MD picks and the rumor that we might be after both with picks 3 & 4. Any chance of us on-trading MD pick 1 to West Coast (where they'd take Martin) in exchange for Gaff and still allowing us to take Hogan at MD pick 2. I'd heard that we hadn't given up hope on Gaff. That would give us Hogan as a KPF, Viney & Gaff as quality mids and with pick 13 left over to use on another quality mid, maybe someone like Nathan Wright? So I guess my question is have you heard Gaff's name mentioned at all? Edit: Hogan MD pick 2 not 1.
  16. Very quick wingman with really good skills. I reckon we'll be targeting either Towers, Ross or Paul Marschall from with SANFL (both similar players) with our 4th round pick which is likely to be in the mid 60's.
  17. See my previous post which is no 9 in this thread.
  18. I said in another thread that one of Cook or Davis would be shown the door and the other should be kept. Looks like Cook's on the way out so I'd definatly keep Davis. Very good contested mark, strong, reasonable pace and likes the tough stuff. Unfortunatly not a great kick! It's worth noting that he can play forward also. In a Casey game earlier this year against Bendigo at Casey when we got thumped he went forward in the last quarter and took a couple of nice marks and kicked 2 goals. Could be something there. 2 year deal for mine, but it'll be make or break for him.
  19. Andrew Gaff, Koby Stevens, Ben Jacobs, Aaron Cornelius, Jarred Moore, Jack Viney, Paul Marschall, Jake Neade, Khan Haretuku That's who I'm hoping our replacements will be.
  20. Maybe a trade to Brisbane for Aaron Cornelius?
  21. So you've said in other threads but I am yet to see any release from the AFL that confirms this and found nothing after a google search that confirms this. Edit: Spelling
  22. Along with Lawrence, Green, Jurrah & Moloney the other player who will make way I'm thinking will be: Petterd (trade/delist) Martin (trade for the right price) Bate (Free Agent) Bennell (trade/delist) One of Cook or Davis (delist and the other will be luckyp) Williams (delist) So I'm thinking it will be 10 out. I also reckon Bartram will be delisted and re-rookied so that's why I haven't included him in the above list.
  23. Said it before and I'll say it again. This is the collateral damage of Neeld and the new regime attemtoing to re-shape the culture and expectations of the club. It may hurt for a bit but we'll be better off in the long run for it. I for one am extremely impressed that Neeld is putting what's best for the club ahead of what's best for him. It would have been temtping to try and hold onto Moloney for depth purposes or talk Green out of retirment for the same reason and try and get a few more wins to improve his chances of a contract extention. Instead he's taken the hard line approach and we're going to see who's really prepared to bleed red & blue. The next announcement of who's departing will be interesting....
  24. I reckon Pick 13 will get that done. Throw in Pick 3 to GWS for MD Pick 1 to West Cost (Jack Martin) and Andrew Gaff to us and I'd be pretty happy with that!
  25. Missed out on MacKay. Some similar players to target for mine are Sharrod Wellingham, Clinton Young or failing them there's Paul Marschall and Dean Towers from the SANFL & VFL who we should target with later picks in the draft. Xavier Ellis is another who we could target from Hawthorn, although I'm not sure his pace is equal to that of the above 4 mentioned or David Mackay which I think is one of the things Neeld and co are looking at. Edit: Add Ellis.
