  1. I've said in another thread if we're going to go left field and get an old (has been) coach then we'd be better off going for Swooper Northey then Sheedy. Edit: Spell
  2. Different type of player. I would have thought it more opens the door for a Bail or Nicholson or would allow Byrnes to play midfield and Kent to stay forward?
  3. Eade might help us land Daniel Cross as a free agent. Williams could help us get Adam Kingsley as an assistant coach. But I think that's about as exciting as it would get for either
  4. And here's a story on her. http://www.sportingpulse.com/club_info.cgi?c=1-3068-30960-0-0&sID=159351&news_task=DETAIL&articleID=23883590
  5. Pretty good line up Ron. If we get Williams I'll be hoping for Senior Coach: Mark Williams Forward Coach: Neil Craig (so experienced and I hope we keep him. Don't think his current role would be required with Choco though so forward coach could work.) Midfield Coach: James McDonald (same as you Ron. Junior has a relationship with Choco through GWS, and it'd be great for the club and players if we could get him back.) Backline Coach: Adam Kingsley (Played under Choco and is a very highly regarded assistant who has had success everywhere he's gone.) Player Development Coach: Nathan Bassett (Very highly regarded in the SANFL for his ability to get the best out of his players. Would be a great get for us.) List Manager: Todd Viney (Experienced and we should hold onto Todd. I like the thought of a list that he would build.) Fitness guru: Dave Misson (Don't need to say much.) Head of Football: Peter Schwab (Ultimate professional and a strong head on his shoulders. Which from all things I've heard you need when dealing with Choco.) CEO: Peter Jackson (Hope he stays beyond 2014. If not then Ron Gauci would be a good get.) President: Geoff Freeman (Like what I've heard from him. Would also consider Alan Stockdale or Greg Wells depending).
  6. Go to go the 18 year old Victorian Jasmine Garner I reckon! The Dees are all about putting time into the youngsters at the moment.
  7. If Dawes doesn't play I reckon that leaves us with the options of throwing Howe forward or maybe even Tommy Mac who was drafted as a forward? Back onto Craig though, I'm looking forward to see what he can get out of the players for the rest of the season and will have to come into consideration for the jon, but probably after Roos, Eade & Williams. And did anyone notice Robbo say on 360 last night that he shouldn't of taken the interim role? Well if Craig didn't then who on earth would Robbo suggest should have taken it???
  8. If true then I'm really happy for him. He's earnt his chance. IMO he's the best looking player we've had on our rookie list since Davey was there at the start of 2004.
  9. Early prediction for our 23 man squad for Rio 2014. Goalkeepers: Schwarzer Federeci Defenders: Neil Olganovski McKay Carney Spiranovic North Williams Defensive Midfielders: Wilkshire Milligan Jedinak Emerton Attacking Midfielders: Bresciano Cahill Holman Kewell Rogic Oar Strikers: Kruse McDonald Kennedy Thompson A few unlucky players maybe like Brosque, Troisi & Valeri. Wonder what others thoughts are?
  10. Depends. The Brisbane job would be more cushy. But our job would have to appeal to his ego more and you know the AFL would prpobably be dropping him a line our way over the Brisbane job you'd think.
  11. Great game, I really rate Iraq as a football team, they've always been a tough opponent for us, I'm amazed they finished below both Oman and Jordan in our group. But then again they never get to play at home, so it takes it's toll. Brazil will be interesting. The pass mark will be final 16. If we can avoid being grouped with any of Spain, England, Germany, Argentina & Brazil I think we'll have a shot of it. There will be 5 groups minus those teams.
  12. Personally I think it was time for punter. Mike Hussey still had good cricket left in him. I agree on Warner. When he does come back I think the number 6 role maybe his go. We need the likes of Cowan, Rogers, Khawaja and going forward any of Hughes, Maddinson, Burns, Handscomb, Doolan, Klinger to hold up the top 3 spots
  13. The only problem with just focussing on headhunting is we coud leave things to late. Of the 6 names I've mentioned, 3 we can obviously speak to straight away: Roos, Craig & Ayres. Roos is obviously top of the list but what happens if he declines? The club would obviously also want to speak to Williams, Eade, Ratten who all could go deep into September? And even then what happens if they to aren't interested after the discussion? We've then missed out on time where we could have formally interviewed a Allan Richardson, Shane Woewodin, Rohan Welsh etc. Should always cover your bases.
  14. I've voted head hunt, but I really think we should do both. I'd of thought they should head hunt Roos, Williams, Eade, Craig, Ratten & Ayres in the sense that they should invite them in for a chat (not a powerpoint presentation) to discuss the possability of the job. What each party is looking for, etc, etc However they should also advertise the position and have a formal interview with any potential rookie coaches to make sure we cover all areas and are thorough. This is an extremely important appointment and we should under no circumstances limit ourselves to a certain type of appointment.
  15. I wouldn't rule out Ratten. Dark horse for mine.
  16. Given the updated injury on Evans I'll make the amendment of Rodan getting a reprieve at Pickles expense. IN: Byrnes, Clisby, Frawley, Magner OUT: Dunn, Pedersen, McKenzie (even if fit), Evans (inj) FB: Garland, Frawley, Terlich HB: Howe, McDonald, Clisby C: M. Jones, N. Jones, Byrnes HF: Tapscott, Watts, Davey FF: Fitzpatrick, Dawes, Kent FOLL: Jamar, Sylvia, Magner INT: Blease, Toumpas, Trengove SUB: Rodan EMERG: Davis, Pedersen, McKenzie (if fit)
  17. I've thought for some time that Quayle & Flannagan are probably the two best footy journo's out there. Sadly we get saturated with the likes of Wilson, Ralph etc.
  18. Seen the brief of evidence due to my work. Was amazed he wasn't charged initially.
  19. Given the evidence against he'll be very lucky if he's found not guilty. This one's not as cloudy as the Lovett case, trust me.
  20. Season 2006, Round 6 Friday Night: An injurey riddled Melbourne defeat Geelong by 3 points. Round 8 Friday Night: Melbourne smash Hawthorn by 75 points. Geelong win the premiership in 2007 & Hawthorn win it it 2008 with Melbourne finishing bottom 4 in 07 and last in 08. Things can change very quickly!
  21. We could certainly do worse. He's a great fieldsman also Klinger which is always a bonus.
  22. Spot on! Finals 2015, premiership 2017. That's not unrealistic with the right coach, recruiting and being able to hold onto our required players.
  23. Obviously you covered your ears when Paul Roos was asked about the job on TV last night soxy?
