  1. Petty has a dual role. He is a great mark and defender. So he played defensive fwd on Boltaand gave us a target. He is a natural kick. Very capable of kicking 3 and 4 on a regular basis and gives cover to JVR
  2. We have played more aggressively in the past 3 weeks against sides that are offensively v good. Carlton and Coll we played a very high press to hold the ball in. The last 3 weeks we haven't pushed up as high. Teams that move the ball by hand and overlap running work their way through our midfield. If you kick the ball long and high v melb you will lose. So teams try low and dirty balls as our ground ball gets in defence aren't the best. Most goals yesterday were from stoppage which is highly unusual. Balls coming in fast are hard to defend. Particularly centre bounces That's my 2 cents worth
  3. This is downright pathetic by the umpires. He's one of the best players in the game and time and tuime again Soldo would charge straight at Max with no eyes for theball. The goal he got was a free to Max. In the centre Max was dragged to the ground with the ump looking straight at it but no free. Happened everywhere. There needs to be a major complaint laid. Teams cant handle Max If Dusty gotthat treatment he would get 40 frees a game.
  4. Not only did Petty grab a bag he blanketed Bolta who has been their leading interceptor. Viney since Oliver went down has been supreme Kudos to the coaching staff that changed their offensive attack 3/4 weeks ago We are letting more scores through but have multiple avenues to goal Last week it was the smalls this week it was the Talls. We are very hard to match up on and have great flexibility. Gee I like Pickett when he goes in the middle. Just wish he would go their mid quarter rather than just at the start
  5. Gawn Petty Viney Trac JVR Melk
  6. The umpire that watched gawn get dragged to the ground should never umpire again
  7. Get jordon off. Just terrible today
  8. Melk jvr chandler nowhere near it today
  9. Tiges have had 10 shots from 11 i50s. Our inability to pressure the ball carrier delivering is killing us. Midfield is being pantsed
  10. His brain seems to work slower or something.
  11. Next door lefkada!
  12. Will be watching live from the sunny Greek islands. We've got this. Dees by 17
  13. There's every chance petty plays a defensive role on Bolta
  14. The helicopter view suggests the team has in the past two weeks opened up its scoring options. I am away so haven't really analysed it too much but it seems we are getting more scoring shots but taking more risks hence the scores against have gone higher. 93 pts and 104 pts are the highest against this year (save for rd 2 when we played bris and conceded 93 pts) I am wondering whether this is because we are now somewhat locked into a top 4 spot so can break the shackles a little more offensively? And are less concerned about holding teams to low scores?
  15. When he was used as a defensive fwd on Tom McCartin and we beat Sydney.
  16. In the game day thread I posted about Adelaide's big number differential in tackling and a few nuffies replied 'aww thats cos they haven't got he ball' Tackles inside 50 Adelaide 13 Melbourne 1. I'll leave it at that and let the nuffies try to work it out
  17. 5 crows leading the tackling stats tells a story
  18. Oh that would never happen. Spoiler - it happens in every single sport where betting is allowed.
  19. May shoved Daniher in the side and tried to turn him. Daniher dived for his life. And if you think the umpiring was good go watch Petracca be molested by Starcevich every time there was a stoppage. Disgraceful
  20. We look better with BBB up fwd. I thought we were going to be cooked if we were relying on him after last year's fade out but he gives us a target, understands fwd craft, is hard to match up on and can kick straight. He often leads a long way up the ground as well which gives us a chop out,. Our crumbers work better with him down there.
  21. Pleasing that Brisbane's much vaunted midfield was comprehensively beaten by Gawn, Brayshaw, Viney and Jordon. Clearances +12 Contested possies +21 We have Petracca and Oliver in reserve.
  22. He also got the last vital clearance.
  23. Don't forget Melk's Carlton game last year when he took an enormous pack mark against 4 Blues and kicked a goal with 2min left. Gets forgotten because of Kozzie's miracle goal a minute later to win the match.
  24. I see what you did there. 'Jarred' was outstanding in the final quarter and his bullocking drive off half-back was inspirational As was Viney's goal from the stoppage. Woey's first goal, there were a hundred highlights...
  25. Everyone is IGNORING the FACT that Hipwood has his arm around Lever's neck!! It was a free kick every day of the week. And yes it was a mark to Lever in any case
