  1. So experience counts for nothing in Pro sports? Good for you champ
  2. No other team knows what its like to win a flag. We do. That's a big advantage in the big dance. If we played Richmond in 21 that would have changed the players minds and whether they could win or not. It's called human nature. You may not be familiar with it. And any mental edge we can get we should drive it home. Finals me with teams' heads. Imagine playing the Lions on GF day. We would have an edge
  3. I think it has to be said that no one in the top 8 has won a flag other than Melbourne They would all be worried about meeting Melbourne in the finals. Particularly at the MCG We have an aura that others don't have (well, maybe the Pies at their best)
  4. You said "Mitchell doesnโ€™t have the luxury of a starting midfield of Oliver, Petracca and Viney that Goody has." They played a stopper AND won the stoppages AND clearance so maybe Mitchell doesn't need the luxury of a star packed midfield.
  5. Hawthorn won the stoppages and all the clearance stats Just sayin....
  6. It really tires the opposition. And you keep control of the ball. You can't defend that for 4 quarters. I thought our coaching was terrific. Never panicked and the players knew what they have to do. We saw 3 or 4 switches of game plan this match. That bodes well for us.
  7. Thought Laurie showed some nice moves. He looked as though he knew it was his last chance to impress and did OK Rivers was outstanding. Coaching moves were really good and i though we played a smart game and never panicked. Kudos to Goodwin
  8. Rivers Melk Lever Viney Sparrow ANB
  9. This is rope a dope And we're the dopes
  10. We are guarding grass and their chip kicks are making us defend. But it's hard chasing tail all day. Need to go man on man for a while, control the footy, make them run AND KICK STRAIGHT FFS
  11. The hawks will chip and switch. Can't guard grass. Must pressure ball carrier
  12. I'm away so haven't watched the game but surely it was lost when we let through 3 stoppage goals at the start of the 4th? It's been a problem all year and we need to work on our defensive stoppages surely?
  13. That missed free to jvr was a disgrace
  14. From memory last time we played Carlton we trialled a change in game plan the week before the pies game. We played a very high restrictive pies and held Carlton to a v low score. We would have smashed them but for poor kicking which was something like 8g 17b I imagine we'll do similar
  15. 90% men with facial hair?
  16. Is there another game in the professional world where the referees are required to have a significant skill? That includes boundary umpires...
  17. Who could forget your poster child OMac ๐Ÿ˜€
  18. Tracc Gawn Pickett ANB GUS VINEY
  19. Doesn't supercoach weight last quarters higher. That would skew the numbers.
  20. I see what you did there
  21. The Pies play on fumes. They have been doing it for a year or so. Its incredibly taxing. As is having to come from behind all the time. They're good but their game style is absolutely beatable as we showed. I maintain we changed our game plan against Carlton as a training run for the collingwood game. We kicked something like 16g 40b in those two games but kept them both to small scores. We have since changed the way we play considerably. BUt we know what to do to beat those sides. We are tracking nicely and no one wants to play us in finals.
  22. Footy is a game of mistakes. Everyone makes them
  23. Petty has a dual role. He is a great mark and defender. So he played defensive fwd on Boltaand gave us a target. He is a natural kick. Very capable of kicking 3 and 4 on a regular basis and gives cover to JVR
  24. We have played more aggressively in the past 3 weeks against sides that are offensively v good. Carlton and Coll we played a very high press to hold the ball in. The last 3 weeks we haven't pushed up as high. Teams that move the ball by hand and overlap running work their way through our midfield. If you kick the ball long and high v melb you will lose. So teams try low and dirty balls as our ground ball gets in defence aren't the best. Most goals yesterday were from stoppage which is highly unusual. Balls coming in fast are hard to defend. Particularly centre bounces That's my 2 cents worth
  25. This is downright pathetic by the umpires. He's one of the best players in the game and time and tuime again Soldo would charge straight at Max with no eyes for theball. The goal he got was a free to Max. In the centre Max was dragged to the ground with the ump looking straight at it but no free. Happened everywhere. There needs to be a major complaint laid. Teams cant handle Max If Dusty gotthat treatment he would get 40 frees a game.
