That's the point. They don't have a clue what they took. The defence of 'we don't know what we took but we know it wasn't illegal' doesn't wash with ASADA. That they still spout this line is quite simply breathtaking. Every sport in the world would try to get away with that. Imagine the Olympics if every athlete said I was duped by my coach. It would simply not function. They signed waivers for a banned substance and the paper trail says dank ordered it and it was supplied. He told The AGE journalist that he had administered it. The club admitted they ran a bad regime,. Ziggy confirmed the major details. They even sacked the Weapon for administering a dodgy program. They haven't got a leg to stand on. What has Vlad done? He didn't inject players. He didn't run a drug regime At worst he tried to warn Ess that a hail of shite was about to come down. And Ess are trying to blame him for their mess? Preposterous. Like everything Ess have done since being outed, it is a complete and utter distraction and totally irrelevant to the main issue - one that the footy world is waiting for Ess to address and take responsibility as they said they would do on day 1. Why anyone believes otherwise is beyond me. And keep reminding yourself if need be - how would the world respond if we replaced 'Essendon' with the Chinese swim team. Everyone would be screaming blue murder. The narrative is all about how the players were duped but frankly, aside from a few of the young recruits, I have zero sympathy. They go through around 25 hours of training a year on drugs. They are taught to ask questions and take responsibility. That they didn't seem to is frankly unbelievable for the most part.

Oh and the board directors. They are toast. They are legally liable for what went on at the club and will now be on the hook for all the damning evidence, poor governance, failing Director's duties, duty of care to players, duty of care to the club, failing to act in the best interests etc etc. And I am still waiting for Worksafe Victoria to say something. If I did that to my employees I would be in jail. WTF are they waiting for??

While the club's strategy appears to be delay as long as possible to turn the list over, it is a double edged sword in that the more players that leave (currently around 13?) the more players that are likely to break ranks and sue for themselves. It is actually quite staggering that they have held together for so long. If it was my livelihood and health affected I would be going at them with all guns blazing. Loss of earnings, delayed health issues, little chance of being picked up by another club etc etc. The players and the club are getting pizpoor advice and it has come back to slap them in the face. Call it Kool Aid or whatever the Ryder defection I am hoping is the first of many. There was even a quote in the paper from a current player saying he was unaware ASADA could re-issue notices if they needed to . I mean FMD don't these guys read papers even? Are they in such a bibble that they believe everything St James and Little sprout? They are going down in flames and actually I am quite happy. Any skerrick of sympathy I had for the players went out the window a long time ago. They are being plain stupid, ignorant and ill-advised.

Roy Masters view is biased. We know that. But he raises some valid points. My thoughts are that the players refrained from joining Ess in the fight against ASADA so that they could be deemed to have 'co-operated' with ASADA. That would have been very difficult had they joined the action against ASADA.
