What to do with Petracca?
Petracca has a long way to go before he makes the "Hall of Fame". What an ego.

What to do with Petracca?
Dismissive comment. Not sure if you realised how sure-handed Geelong were and how clean their ball skills were.

What to do with Petracca?
Petracca's head runs at 100kmh and his body runs at 25kmh. Needs to: 1. stop thinking 3 steps ahead. 2. Stop thinking about how to pull off the 1% dink to an opponent under pressure 3. just get the ball and burst into space and kick the ball to a target 4. Stop worying about his opponent when a ball is there to be won. Just get the flippin thing.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Geelong
At one point in the 3rd qtr we had something like 14 i50s for 2 pts and they had 4 entries for 4 goals. There rebound was exceptional. Our defence of it was abysmal. The 'gameplan' a=of getting it the fwd 50 raidly and holding it in there is so 2018. Can't be done with the kick in rules and players that refuse to play a zone like they are supposed to. Doesn't help when you have defenders that can't defend one on one. What has happened to Hibberd? I don't think players have drunk their own bathwater because there wouldn't have been any left after Trac and TMac have drunk it the lot. as someone quoted earlier "so many passengers and no one to replace them with" WTF have we been doing all pre-season?

The Writing Was/Is on the Wall
Man you are now inventing stuff. Mine was a simple comment. It wasn't our worst game since rd 23 2017 Are you eating mushrooms of some kind?

Who is Melchum and Louis?

The Writing Was/Is on the Wall
Wow you're arguing with yourself. You said it was the worst we had played since rd 23 2017 and I happened to mention the prelim....now you say "comparing two games, 6 months apart, in two different seasons is just silly" but you want to compare two games 19mths apart? OK I give in.

The Writing Was/Is on the Wall
Did you miss the prelim,?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Most sayings have some origin in a historical context. We'll "stick fat" with player X is out and out nonsence with no relevance to anything

Changes vs Geelong Rd 2
Your defence of OMac is truly pathetic. He is a terrible footballer with no attributes other than being tall.

Changes vs Geelong Rd 2
Halleluha. Finally people are waking up....

POSTGAME: Rd 1 vs Port Adelaide
Its not necessarily that. It's that our experienced players were terrible. Their young players were the cream unlike us where we were relying on young players to do the job. Jones, Viney, Gawn, Hibberd, Jetta et al were well down on form. Frost & OMac were disgraceful

This 100%. They made this blue a few times last year. They need to review their selection policies.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
This is the dumbest saying ever. What does it even mean?

Geelong stadium deals
Well we aren't alone... I recall I read somewhere that we got a better deal under Steven Smith but can't find it anywhere..... Also its part of why the AFL has an equalisation fund. Other teams scream about 'poorer' teams receiving money but in reality this is part of the reason it is there.
-
Geelong stadium deals
Yep. We barely make a dollar on a 25,000 crowd at the G. Geelong get all of the corporate box revenue, advertising, a big chink of food and bev etc. Teams that have 'clean' stadiums cream it in terms of revenue. Adelaide, West Coast etc. It means a West Coast can spend in the order of $300,000 a week (!) more than melbourne. Thats one reason the soft spending cap was brought in Two of the biggest problems in the AFL. Stadium deals and the fixture.

POSTGAME: Rd 1 vs Port Adelaide
I agree with you that it is different but we were way off in skills, desire and execution. The uncontested stats tell a big story as do the contested stats that we lost only twice I think last year.

I hope you are right...

POSTGAME: Rd 1 vs Port Adelaide
Didn't affect Richmond, Collingwood, Hawthorn or Geelong. They all looked well fit enough. Its a copout. I mean, we did look gassed but there is absolutely no excuse for it. The signs were there in the JLT games with our inability to hold the ball in our defence and how easily we let other teams score. The latter having been a major problem for a few years now.

POSTGAME: Rd 1 vs Port Adelaide
Excellent summary and your para on our defence was spot on. Our tall defenders are next to useless. Some here won't accept that Frost and OMac aren't AAs and shoot down anyone that criticises them but how obvious is it when the club recruits May and Lever to fill the holes. They weren't the only reason we lost yesterday but they were terrible at one on one defending yet again. This has been our downfall for the past 4 seasons. May and Lever can't come back quick enough and even then they will be terribly underdone.

POSTGAME: Rd 1 vs Port Adelaide
I thought we won the centre clearances? Unlike last year we weren't kicking to an outnumbered fwd line.
