Everything posted by KC from Casey

  1. Three quarter time and Casey in a canter - 13.8.86 to 3.4.22 and Fev has five. Just as I mention that Sylvia isn't doing anything he comes with a flurry and his pass to Fevola for goal # 5 was a ripper.
  2. I didn't see much of the Ressies so I can't answer that other than that he kicked a goal as per the above info. This is a better quarter from Sandy with three goals - all to Will Johnson. A great checkside goal in the middle of those to Tom McNamara. Goals to Panozza and Fevola (#4) restore Casey's big lead - they need it to overcome the damage caused by last week's defeat. Sylvia not doing much.
  3. Half time - the opposite of last week. Casey 8.6.54 Sandringham an embarrasing 0.3.3. Fev booted three for the term, all in that quarter. Other goalkickers are Jetta & Jurrah with 2 each and Tommy MacDonald has one. Campbell dominating the ruck and Cale Morton, for the second week in a row, getting plenty of possession.
  4. Casey spring to life with goals to Fevola (who had been quiet up to this stage), Jurrah (ditto) and Jetta (lively) and all of a sudden it looks like being a blowout).
  5. Not really. Scorpions coasting atm. Jetta just goaled and the lead is 20 points.
  6. No radio today. Scorps in control at quarter time but have been wasteful, lead 2.4.16 to 0.0.0.
  7. Casey Reserves solid again. Casey Scorpions 4.2.26 9.3.57 13.9.87 20.14.134 Sandringham 1.3.9 2.6.18 3.8.24 4.10.34 Goals Casey Scorpions Bell 6 Purves 4 Fieldsend McShane Lees 2 Allen Cook Matthews Weekes Sandringham Ferraro Lourey Wade Michaliades Best Casey Scorpions Bell Baumgartner Cleven Patti Clay Purves Sandringham Andrews Ferraro Lourey Porebski Mavric Shakallis Ready to bounce the ball for the big one.
  8. On the matter of the club's reaction, I would say there's not much coming out of the club. The view is that the result was an aberration and the boys have trained hard on the track and have put last week behind them. As to the correlation between the two games, I'm not sure but it looks like it, doesn't it? Ice Station who did the report from last week's game has suggested that some players were not 100% including Brendan Fevola who was ill and lasted two and a half quarters but still managed to kicked four goals despite not getting much in terms of quality delivery. A few others looked fatigued. Casey struggled all day for lack of pace in the midfield after losing Michael Evans and Neville Jetta. They have a better midfield this week and I think they'll come back to the winner's list and do it comfortably. However, to answer your question, I think it would be an enormous co-incidence if the poor performances of the two weren't connected,

  11. The Scorpions return home for the first time in a month to take on old rivals Sandringham in what should be a beauty. Casey is a proud club and felt the pain last week as much as the Demons. The result was out of character and must be reversed this week. I've given up talking about "must wins" but we really must. I will post the teams as and when they become available.

  15. They definitely miss Evans and Jetta in the middle, that's for sure!

  17. Disastrous start to the day with the Cats bursting out of the blocks and kicking ten goals straight. Casey Scorpions 4.1.25 Geelong 10.0.60 Troy Selwood has five goals.

  19. With the Scorpions a game out of the top four and only five games left in the home and away season, Casey faces up to yet another must win game, this time against Geelong in the curtain raiser at Skilled Stadium starting at 10.40am on Saturday morning. The Cats are out of the eight but their recent form has been good and they have come close to causing an upset or two. There should be some interesting names in the Scorpions line up with Aaron Davey likely to return through the seniors and Austin Wonaeamirri returning after spending the past seven weeks with family on the Tiwi Islands on compassionate leave dealing with personal matters following the death of his father Matthew and mentor Maurice Rioli. Aussie might however, have to start in the reserves due to the fact that he has just resumed training and may lack the fitness for a game in the seniors. Star midfielder Danny Nicholls is almost certain to play his first game of the season against the Cats after playing the two games in the VFL reserves in his comeback from injury. The Scorpions' reserves are on track to play finals for the first time in more than a decade. They are in fourth position and play Frankston just 13 days after their last match resulted in a massive percentage booster. This time the game's on neutral territory at Victoria Park. I hope to be able to post the teams for both Casey games later this evening.
  20. The weekend's round hasn't changed things very much and Casey's top four chances got a boost with Box Hill beating the Bullants. The Scorps have a tough away game at Skilled Stadium against Geelong Reserves this week (curtain raiser to the main game involving Melbourne). It's likely we'll see Aaron Davey and possible Austin Wonaeamirri in action so I'm urging Demon fans who have tickets to the game to get there early and support the team. The reserves have an interesting match up against Frankston at Frankston on Saturday morning. The teams met in the week before the bye and both had this weekend off before playing each other again at the same venue 13 days later. The young Scorps won easily and let's hope they can repeat the dose this week at both levels (a Demons upset wouldn't go astray either).
  21. The Casey Scorpions have the bye this week with five home and away matches to go before the finals. The remaining games are against Geelong @Skilled Stadium - the curtain raiser to Geelong v Melbourne, Sandringham (H), Coburg (A), Werribee (H) and Northern Bullants (H). It's a reasonable fixture but the Scorps lost to three of the above the first time around and the Cats at Skilled won't be easy. Still, the team has its destiny in its own hands as it has to get past Werribee (6th) and the Bullants (4th) to make the top four at the end of the year.
  22. Aaron Davey didn't play today. I don't think he can go straight into the AFL without at least one VFL game and the Casey Scorpions have a bye next week. Catch 22?
  23. Aaron Davey didn't play - name wasn't on the team sheet! Cameron Johnston was not in the bests for the reserves because he played in the seniors.
  24. A runaway victory for the Casey Scorpions with an unstoppable Brendon Fevola booting 11 goals. Casey 25.9.159 to Frankston 12.10.82. Casey Scorpions 5.2.32 11.6.72 17.7.109 25.9.159 Frankston 2.3.15 5.6.36 8.7.55 12.10.82 Goals Casey Scorpions Fevola 11 Dunn Waite 4 Bell Campbell Evans Jetta McDonald Mohr Frankston Haretuku 3 Clements Greeley 2 Appleford Baguley Clark Doria Kennedy Best Casey Scorpions Fevola Evans Baumgartner Dunn Warnock Jetta Frankston Baguley Bosward Clements Hockey Kennedy Haretuku
