i'd be stoked to see Watts go. After watching the grand final, it's just scary to see Watts play in a game like that. His intensityand strength levels are way below afl finals football standard

Herald Sun reports Gysberts to be shown the door...Neeld has gone mad!!!
Freak replied to Tex's topic in Melbourne Demons
That's ridiculous. Gysberts just had his jaw broken. I'm not a Gysberts fan, and I never have been. His kicking is sh!t and it always will be. I don't mind that he is delisted but if he is I'd want Morton and Watts to be also gone. Lets not make this a Watts thread but I do believe Gysberts deserves to stay on the list considering the before mentioned have squibbed so many contests wearing the demons guernsey yet Gysberts always went hard. I also was one of the only people here that never subscribes to the theory that we won out of the mclean trade. Mclean is a very good player and he has showed that this year. Those people that thought we won out of that trade are suspiciously quiet in this thread. -
firstly, i think you're way too positive. I'd like clarification but isn't the father son nomination done BEFORE the mini draft bidding, which means we will have to commit to viney before all of this stuff happens! Secondly, I just don't think you understand, we brought Todd Viney all the way from Adelaide to start a new life here so we could pick up Jack. now you're saying we're going to inform him that we've changed our minds and we might let Jack go to GWS! Laughable idea mate.
-
Yeah, i agree, give us some respect Grimesy. We're melbourne supporters, we've been promised the World, but given Moe, year in, year out
-
i dont care who we get rid of as long as we get rid of Morton first. I dont care if he has years remaining on his contract. He is embarrassing to have on our list
-
so geelong give up a late first rounder for a player that the worst team in the comp doesn't want? hahahahahahahhahahaha. 3rd rounder.
-
pick 17 for gysberts.lol DREAMING!!!!!
-
Am I missing something? They are going to be able to get him anyway, because pick 2 is before pick 3!!! how is our pick 3 going to scare Gold Coast at all. Gold coast will get Martin anyway most likely. I just don't think you know what you're getting at. We have no bargaining power with the GC in the mini draft because they are before us.
-
can someone tell me about where the Gysberts rumour started? I cant find it on the internet
-
how does GC win out of that? they can trade their pick 2 anyway.
-
oh as in pick 3 for a mini draft pick with GWS and make an arrangement with GC to give them petered for cheap if they don't bid? Isn't the mini draft thing done after father son nominations though which means we would have to commit to viney before we can trade pick 3 away?
-
can someone please tell me where the gysberts rumour came from? I can't find it anywhere on the internet. Was it said on the radio from someone?
-
lol, people are so deluded. As if GC or GWS are not going to bid for viney. They know we have committed to him, we created a job for his dad just so we could draft him. It's a sure thing that we will get Viney and unfortunately it's going to be with a number 3 draft pick.
-
SImple question really. The priority picks were scrapped so now they are only going to be granted for clubs at the discretion of the afl. Now, we will finish the season with only 4 wins, and last on the ladder (excluding gold coast and gws). We received compensation for losing scully, so I don't understand why we aren't pushing for a compensation pick for only winning 4 games.
-
I did not jeer. And i wasn't aware that morton was injured. I thought everyone was jeering simply because Morton was subbed out of the game fairly early in the game, which I thought was pretty funny. Those that didn't hear the jeers, probably saw the injury, and for those that heard the jeers (like me) they probably didn't see the injury.
-
I was there and people did jeer but I didn't really mind it to be honest. I know it's not the right thing to do and I didn't jeer myself but Morton doesn't deserve to be pulling on the melbourne jumper and he should be delisted at the end of the year. If a simple jeer gets through to the melbourne footy club that we don't appreciate them botching up our draft picks then so be it. He is our whipping boy for a reason!
-
so biased. mitch Clark has been great, no doubt. but scully has been averaging 21 touches a game without having a full pre-season. Scully is 4 years away from his peak too
-
I'm sorry but that 1 moment typifies Watts. We have to face it, and get him off the list sooner rather than later. He has not done much since he has been at the club and don't give me the age cr@p. Many young players put their head over the footy since the first day. Remember Cam Hunter. He weighed about 60kg's but he went in super hard. Lack of weight is no excuse for not going hard.

yeah, terrible user of the footy. Lacks awareness too, but he tries..i wouldn't mind giving him a 2 yr contract
-
Okay, now this is not reactionary todays lost but more so to the 2 months of thrashings. Now you might disagree with some of my points but change needs to happen. If I was coach I would try some new stuff: -Bring in Lucas Cook: I don't care what his form is like. We need something to look forward to and he can't be any worse than Watts - Petterd to half back -Tapscott to forward pocket -Drop both captains to find form at vfl. (sure it will create a media stir but Trenners can't find the footy and Grimes can find it but needs to work on his foot skills. He still butchers it) -Stef Martin to play midfield - And admit to the football public that we have a serious problem and will be making big time player delistings at the end of the year. This would at least create some interest for the rest of the year. See who plays for their careers and who doesnt.

And he cost us a goal in the first quarter. Had the chance to make a contest with robinson but chose to sit back and wait for the footy to arrive. Sure it was a bad kick but still. Pathetic effort which cost us 6 points

it's not what he does, it's what he doesn't do.. And he doesn't put his body on the line. Enough said.

I cann't believe what you've just said. this is a clear example of how Watts' softness costs us goals. Its just embarrassing. The ball was coming in and he looked to the side to see the carlton player closing so he DECIDES to let the ball come to him so he won't look accountable and won't cause a collision. Cometti just said what everyone else was thinking. Watts is so F#ckin' soft

Which players will stand up against the Blues?
Freak replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
Carlton to win by 75 but Howe, jones and Clark. So yeah....nothing new!
