Judd McVee contract
Definitely - based on the balance of probabilities and noting the typical tendency of AFL players not signing by the half-way mark of their final contracted season, you'd say he's gone. Stranger things have happened, but this isn't looking great based on the optics. It would be disappointing to lose him - he's exactly the type of player we need more of.

Time to start a rebuild?
We also really need to start taking our second and third round picks into the draft and bringing in competitors who can add to our depth, or unearth and identify some draft targets in this range. We've previously done quite well at this, but I think we've come undone recently with being so intent on trading up the draft order and sending these selections out the door. We've picked a horrible time to bottom out with the looming Tasmanian concessions - very MFC of us.

Time to go Goody?
Well said; it's very inherent and observable within the wider supporter bases acceptance and adulation of the results in 2022 - 2022.

Who is running this club?
- Time to go Goody?
Prior to yesterday* it was confirmed that Goodwin would categorically coach next year. There would be lateral movements in positions around him, plus a new head of football. *I'm not sure how yesterday's result has impacted this. IMV, Goodwin's position is absolutely and undeniably untenable.- Time to go Goody?
There are many cancerous problems at the club at the moment, but to take the view that 'nothing will change, so don't do anything' is just bizarre. Goodwin is a huge part of the problem and removing him (along with Richardson + coupled with Green's looming departure) is required.- GAMEDAY: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
At least Goodwin is realllyyyyyyyyyyyy good friends with the playing group.- GAMEDAY: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
Fantastic to watch another Goodwin special unfolding.- May to Tribunal

The AFL's application of the reasonable person test is like no-other; where a non-infallible standard is treated as fallible. In no legal world is a reasonable person expected to foresee every possible outcome and take all precautions. Seemingly the AFL now endorses an approach where the ordinary person is not evaluated in the context of the situation in which the act occurs, but rather the AFL's ideal standard context.- Time to experiment

As opposed to using a player to bolster the Goodwin love-in?- 2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

Great movie!- PREGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
Somewhat of a flippant comment tbh, but I could honestly see us repeating our earlier encounter this year. I agree on Jefferson, I've seen a few 'moments' and I think there's a bit there we can work with. He also seems to have the most forward craft in terms of leading that we have outside of Melksham; I'm not including Fritsch in this as he really should be our second or third forward.- Trade Targets
There was more context added today around the parental involvement that it was due to Reid being exceptionally indecisive, so this came about via his mother and father helping him work through the decision. No idea the veracity of it, but I don't necessarily think it's in the same vein as Jacko etc or nefarious medalling.- PREGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
We're going to get smashed.- Joe Daniher - worth a knock on his door?
Doubts over Demons' bid to lure Daniher out of retirement "However, Demons great Garry Lyon simply cannot see it eventuating. “That’s interesting. I don’t think Joey is coming out of retirement anytime soon,” said Lyon. Essendon legend Watson has a close family relationship with Daniher who played 108 games and kicked 191 goals for the Bombers as a father-son prospect. Watson is adamant that the 204-game, 395-goal Daniher won’t end his retirement to play again. “There’s no way known that he’ll be coming out of retirement,” said the former Dons captain."- Trade Targets
If Darcy Wilson was gettable, I would absolutely be into him. In terms of what he would offer us, I see him as potentially being a suitable high HFF/midfielder who would be able to likely replace a lot of what we lost by virtue of ANB's departure. He could easily take Tholstrup's position, and at this stage I think he's on a better upward trajectory than Windsor (although I think he could actually complement Windsor quite well, from an acquisition and game-day perspective). He's contracted for 2026, but I would absolutely be in his ear and planting the seed. He's one of the positives from the 2023 draft IMO. A good runner who can actually hit the scoreboard and provide impact across the midfield and forward 50 arc! ‘A disaster’: Big Saints fear in $1.4m move; twist over Dons star as trigger revealed — Whispers- Trade Targets
Yeah I picked up on this too. When it's been re-reported this morning, all the references have been to NM - though that's not to say that is indeed accurate.- Time to start a rebuild?
But remember, it's totally acceptable to move the goal posts and pass mark when your goal becomes unattainable....- Joe Daniher - worth a knock on his door?
Mirror my thoughts exactly, even down to the verbatim. Despite baulking initially, I think almost anyone would be an improvement to what we already have. At the very least, structurally having his body in the F50 would likely mean that Melksham, Fritsch, JVR or Jefferson (whatever combo we're running with), all move into the second, third, fourth forward role etc which is probably more to their strength (and our benefit). Now I'm not for a moment advocating that this move will win us a flag; we're nowhere near being the Demons of 2021 and I would have BBB substantially ahead of Sleepy Joe. But this type of acquisition would likely give us some structure and allow us to play a more coherent game when entering the F50, at least prima facie (I'm still very sceptical regarding our movement into the F50 and our ability to hit a target - but that's another issue).- Judd McVee contract
Unless WC were willing to pay heavily over, I'd be doing all we can to retain McVee. I've posted this a few times before, but he's exactly the type of player we're missing more of. Good disposal by foot and hand, can navigate traffic and is good at the ground ball. Fairly good mark too - although that's probably not his strongest area with reference to his ability in the air. We'd be going backwards by losing him, at least in the short-term. - Time to go Goody?
