  1. Yeah. I hadn't read a Flanagan article for a while, but the ones I just read were really good. He definitely sheds some positive light on the whole thing.

I know Paul Roos has said Sydney is going youth, but with Mickey O retiring, Barry Hall gone and a developing forward line, would he suit their structure? Would Paul Roos consider bringing another 'experience head' to the harbour town? Plausible.
  3. Sounds a little like another South Australia - Richutto?
  4. 6. Davey - broke the game open with pace and pinpoint passing 5. Jones - Hard at it all day. 4. Jurrah 3. Rivers 2. McDonald 1. Petterd I could give votes to soooo many more players I'm not the first to say it but Valenti also had an excellent game. However a few too many errors in disposal by hand and foot cost him votes in my books but I know he can get to the level because he will keep working hard.
  5. I find this article interesting and think that most of these players are scape-goats because they are over-rated. Players from the list that spring to mind for me are: COLLINGWOOD: Alan Toovey, Leigh Brown GEELONG: Kane Tennace, Tom Lonergan PORT ADELAIDE: Justin Westoff RICHMOND: Jordan McMahon Expectations are set too high from supporters after some better than average games, and when they don't continually live up to it, they get lambasted. We blame Newton because he's been bad. Luckily, Melbourne have also been bad during this time, but if he was a bad player in a successful team, he wouldn't even be around.
  6. I like your work in both posts Doggo. Yours have my vote.
  7. Wicked. I will remember it this time... and a helmet.
  8. Courtesy of melbournefc.com.au Injury list as at 4 August 2009 Brent Moloney – Groin – Test Brock McLean – Knee – Test Jordie McKenize – Calf – Test Liam Jurrah – Ankle – Test Jack Grimes – Hip Flexor – Test Stefan Martin – Calf – Test Jack Watts – Hand – 1 week Paul Wheatley – Quad – 1-2 week Mark Jamar – Quad – 1-2 weeks Matthew Whelan – Plantar Fascia – 2 weeks Jamie Bennell – Knee – 2-3 weeks Rhys Healey – Quad – Indefinite Austin Wonaeamirri – Knee – Season Brad Green – Wrist – Season Daniel Bell – Shoulder – Season John Meesen – Foot – Season Colin Garland – Foot – Season Sam Blease – Leg – Season James Struass – Shoulder – Season Addam Maric – Shoulder – Season So from this we can add in: Cameron Bruce - Wrist - Season Paul Wheatley - ?? - ?? Rohan Bail - Quad - ?? - 3 weeks left, probably put him in wool. Makes for pretty depressing reading eh?
  9. This is a good thread! I think being the last unaffected draft means that not many clubs will be willing to trade for early picks. It would be my thoughts that a trade of this nature may be a chance next year? With the GC looking for a bit of experience. Sure Bate/Maric might not fetch a top 15 pick, but either a big year or another player for might sweeten the deal. So i.e. (and I'm not condoning the trade of Bate) Bate + Our Pick 10 = GC Pick 5 to us (or something of that nature?)
  10. 6. Bate 5. Jones 4. Sylvia 3. Moloney 2. Valenti 1. Martin
  11. I hope this is on the footy show, someone send it into Sam's Ball(Mail)Bag.
  12. Was this the round he got his rising star nod? He has got one hasn't he? EDIT: I just did my own research and yes it was, Round 15. Such a good game :D
  13. I think, even if we don't get 1st pick, which would assume we win 2 or more, we still have a strong chance to get Scully - if we finish 2nd last. WA had a STRONG team in the carnival this year and by all indications from last years draft they'd be pretty keen to pick another home-state lad due to the 'travel factor'. Pull one from no-where. Thoughts?
  14. Agreed. They all looked devastated after the game. I don't think there is any doubt the it's not the players.
  15. 6. McDonald 5. Petterd 4. Jones 3. Rivers 2. Dunn 1. Davey Too many lazy turnovers for too many players makes this one hard to pick.
  16. I'm pretty sure it is! Who else could provide insightful tweets like 'just took the dog for a walk, well, he dragged me on my skateboard' Keep up the good work Jonesey
  17. Someone may correct me if i'm wrong but i was just watching an Australian celeb poker tourney on fox8 and i'm pretty sure he was commentating! I've never been so excited by poker!
  18. Selwood? He's clearly elite.
  19. Could have been a major blunder by you Dappa. I always thought the Toiges would get there, espesh with 'The Blade' trying to impress for the job next year.
  20. HaHa! Spot on. And so naisely (sp?). And too cliche... i think she's trying too hard, but is doing an OK job. I flicked the telly on and when she first spoke i was like WHOAH!
  21. He's still a rookie, will we get much for him? If we get a midfielder in the draft (who would assumingly fill McDonald's spot if this is his last year) whose spot will Valenti fill? I love the kid and wish he would get more of an opportunity, but given his lack of AFL time I feel his destiny might lie elsewhere.
  22. Jurrah about the only one that's shown something in my books (and Bruce is battling away hard in his 200th). His (Jurrah) pass to Petterd to set up our first goal was exquisite. Also, I think Bartram might be playing for his career and is playing really well, I think he can hold his head high. However, today Geelong are a cut above us. Interesting to hear everyones thoughts on the Female commentator. I don't think Richo is bringing much to the table.
  23. I'm (pleasantly) pretty surprised it came so fast! I was hoping he'd get one by the end of the season but this is great! I hope it does him a world of confidence on and off the field. I read in the paper that he was talking to the media after the game on the weekend, (although very brief answers) did anyone hear it?
  24. I'm nervous. As much as I want to win... I want Scully sooooo bad. Although I would probably settle for Trengrove. 3rd pick, I'll probably cry a wee bit.
  25. Trade him to GC now? Late 2nd round or a future pick... would you take it?
