  1. No they don't. If a judge discovers they are a relative (or a friend) of the accused, they recuse themselves from the case. The AFL instead apppoints 'relatives' (especially of a certain club) as judges.
  2. What's worse - booing a victim of a slur, falsely thinking he was responsible for reporting it, or cheering a thug who has just ended another player's career and probably affected his future life?
  3. Sometimes silence is louder than words.
  4. Try archive.is and enter the URL
  5. I'm surprised Caro hasn't suggested Buckley AND the Demons go to Tassie. After all, there's little difference between a Demon and a Devil and there'd be one less Vic team for Richmond to worry about.

If it was impossible to reconfigure, it wouldn't be totally stupid to have some material layed out for the players to walk over and taken away when they have finished. I suggest red carpet.
  7. I was under the impression that the attacking ruck was allowed to do so and score a point? But that doesn't makes sense. (That's why I think it may be true @AFLrules).
  8. I’d prefer any amount of supporter screeching to these commentators. Endless analysis and amateur coaching and only occasionally saying who the players are.
  9. Isn't it a free against if the defending ruck knocks it through?
  10. OD - I think I did say they built these thinsg to make money. The endless expansion of the original service to dominate everthing and the drowning of the original service in extraneous areas is my main beef. As for you saying the problem not being the social media/algorithm but stupid people: There will always be stupid people but now they are getting organised and fed dangerous rubbish in a way never before possible, so there is a problem for the rest of us.
  11. Haven't been hijacked? Even google search which used to just search the web for you, started drowning you in ads etc before you get search results. Doubtless facebook at al always planned to make money, but the big IT firms all expand from their original focus (eg connecting friends) and now have news feeds and marketplaces and try to get a foothold in everything. I'd say they have been hijacked by themselves.
  12. Might explain a delay in posting.
  13. Wouldn't worry the AFL. They do is all the time quite brazenly.

    Summary please -paywall
  15. Don't take this as me commenting on this issue, but I wish the AFL would also stamp out other things as well that you shouldn't do in the workplace. I mean jumper punches and worse. Obviously tackling someone in most workplaces would get you sacked, but tackles are an agreed part of the game. Jumper punches (and a lot of other tough guy stuff and mocking pushes) don't appear in the rule book.
  16. I have tried to follow what you mean, but it is not clear from your fragmentary posts and repeated 'what's not clear' comments. Sorry if I am so thick. I don't know whether your are refering to Oliver or someone else when you say 'him' - earlier posts seem contradictory. Instead of saying 'read my posts' how about you please make a new post stating: I heard the following on day A when I was at X with Y. If you can't give names, then categories, eg players, coaches, family members of them, etc Several people (or one?) told me the club (and/or some people) want Z pushed out.
  17. I woke up this am and started reading this thread. SO MUCH NEGATIVITY. I couldn't bring myself to read through all the posts. But I wonder if I'm in the same universe as some of you. We all expected to be absolutely flogged after the year, the Hawks match and playing a team desperate for a double chance. And yet we matched them, almost won. All the carrying on about we don't know how to defend a lead - may be true but lots of matches are won by a team only 10 points behind at 3QT. Why focus on that when we expected to be flogged? So yes, there are a LOT of things we need to fix but why can't some people take some pleasure from how we played last night. I know I did. (I presume some of the posts which I skipped may have said similar things.)
  18. gosh, he's shrinking. A few pages back on here he got to 204cm.
  19. Ditto for me. I haven't followed this closely so it may be common knowledge, so anyone who knows please post. I wouldn't normally suggest that anyone verbals anyone, but for a certain player I'll put aside my morals and hope that on Friday night someone verbals Maynard. Be fun to watch the AFL react to that.
  20. This article highlights the AFL's hypocrisy on hiring Snoop while clamping down on Rankine https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/rankine-snoop-and-the-afl-s-hypocrisy-on-homophobia-20250818-p5mnu0.html
  21. True it happens in lots of games, but not you would think as the finals approach , playing a grade B team and getting an extra bit of % could make all the difference in a team's status in the finals.
  22. At least I'll join the choir invisibule before there they move to private clubs run as any other business with no limits on $.
  23. If so, they probably got a blast from coach and leadership. A top 4 position is more valuable than possibly losing an individual player. So if they did what you say they are not playing for the team but are selfish and can expect a long article from Wilson putting the boot in.
  24. I thought Hawks did need to keep trying because of a small percentage gap. (I haven't followed what's what in the finals rankings, but I thought one of the commentators mentioned their percentage as being significant).
  25. a quote from her article: "no one in a position of authority at Melbourne was prepared to publicly guarantee the handover this week." Typical slimy journalism. No one returns her call so she can say this implying people were dodging this specific question. Maybe they were dodging all her questions - and good luck to them.
