POSTGAME: Rd 23 vs Gold Coast
I'm amazed that anyone could infer that from the question he was asked (Going?) and his immediate reply (Nah!) followed by the 'sort this out at end of year' type remark. If that wasn't him realising that you have to keep balls in the air during contract talks I'm the proverbial monkey's uncle. Of course, pessimists will say it's a double bluff to fool fan boys like me....

POSTGAME: Rd 23 vs Gold Coast
Are you joking? Initial response was an enthusiastic YEAH. Followed by a vague remark that read to me as “holy [censored]. My manager will be [censored] off my saying that in contract talks”. Sorry, I got that the wrong way around. He was asked "you're not going anywhere?" and replied Nah enthusiastically. Some people seem deermined to read the worst into everything.

I guess playing for C'wood reduces the chances of bad and career ending injuries.

Probably true. Still astounding that there has been no media focus on this. Premiers in 2023, out in zero sets in 2024.

I'm waiting for the pile on in the media.......

I may have missed it. But is that about Houston just a rumour / speculation or is there any real evidence?

No body can deny??!! Of course they can until Trac says it. but the thread title is saved by having a question mark. But it does reek of click bait.

Season 2024 Over for Clayton Oliver
Geez, cut him a bit of slack. He doesn't get pinged that often for throws and other players are equally 'quick', some get pinged more than others. Yes, he gets paid a lot, but so what. A lot of the defense of Clarry has been justified and objective - you don't have a monopoly. Sure there are some posters who are what you call apologists. And then there are some who are the reverse - always keen to see that dark side and put the boot in. Doesn't make you balanced or right. The suggestion that part of the reason for 1 flag in 60 years is because of sycophantic supporters is laughable. When are we storming the club HQ? Should I send the President the ashes of my microwaved membership card? You like to show how tough and uncomprimising you are - as if that has any effect on what the club does any more than those who wear rose-coloured glasses do. At least the latter group are happy.

And you are across all the medical issues? No plate needed for 14 weeks in your medical bag?

Season 2024 Over for Clayton Oliver
It does if despite all he drawbacks he is doing as well as the average player. Have you watched a Casey match this year?

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
Why are some here so confident that the leak was from some MFC ne'er-do-well? Where is the evidence? (beyond some people always thinking the worst of the club)? Could have come from anywhere between Melbourne and South Australia.

Season 2024 Over for Clayton Oliver
1. We had no one better and until last week were still in with a chance of finals 2. Some say for his mental health. They may be right.

Season 2024 Over for Clayton Oliver
A liability? Only compared with his former top form. Who did we have to replace him? Mothballed weeks ago when we still had a chance at finals? Most you can say he should have gone last weekend.

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
or is someone leaking at the other end in SA?

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
Maybe discussions about deals haven been going on positively already, so the appearance of acting like a 'free agent' is a mirage. Edit: I see a number of posters have made this point earlier.

The 2024 Positives Thread
I agree with most of the above. Another positive - so far no one has hi-jacked the thread into yet another woe-is-us thread.

Yes, it is something to wonder about, but as usual we dont' really know. Maybe the bashing in the media means nothing to him compared to getting out there and playing, however badly. Whether it is worth it for the club overall is another matter which presumably has been considered.

NON-MFC: Round 22
Carlton about to prove that a premiership needs some luck
-
NON-MFC: Round 22
True, but the weekend hasn't been that bad. C'wood & Essendon lost. (and we did not get beaten by 100 points as many posters were predicting).

NON-MFC: Round 22
Is there a reason the score review shows useless camera angles for over a minute and only after that show the snickometer result? (I mean a genusine reason, not some AFL crud reason.)

NON-MFC: Round 22
Maynard a cheat as well as a bastard

NON-MFC: Round 22
my favourite scenario is Sydney win but to get in the finals Cwood have to beat us by a large margin but fail, preferably because we beat them. Haven't looked at the ladder to know if this is feasible.

I wouldn't recommend that to anyone who wishes to preserve their sanity.

I love these rumours. A reliable source tells me that WCW is moving to the C'wood cheer squad in 2025.
