  1. Betting against the dees?!?! In hindsight a good move, perhaps you should buy two memberships?
  2. I thought some of our handball work was actually quite good, Jones seemed to have a little more poise in that department. There were a few shockers around particularly by our senior players but I also remeber a few passages of play where we used our hands quite well, stringing 3-4 handballs together which never happened last year.
  3. Geez I hope it is better than your assessment.
  4. It is clear that DB was resting a few players against Geelong, or at least I hope he was. I will be very interested to see who comes back this weekend, it may give us a better idea as to who is fit and who is set for another injury interrupted season. What do we know about these players: Bartram Bruce Carrol – Suspended by leadership group, would have been an important player on Saturday. Davey Dunn Frawley Grimes C. Johnson B. McLean Miller Moloney Morton Neitz Petterd Rivers Wheatly Whelan
  5. The injury list seems quite bad to me, I am a little scared.
  6. I would like to see the average age of this group, this is a very young list.
  7. I'd have Cheney ahead of Grimes. ...and I say that without any attitude.
  8. Great idea!! I could do with a new set of skis.
  9. Who hasn't done a burnout in a carpark? Talk about setting high standards! Every leader needs to have a bit of ratbag in him.
  10. Bold? Perhaps, but to me it seems he is the first in line with respect to his mentality and toughness. The others seem a bit green at this stage. Just imagine if he did win it!!
  11. Id take Cheney at those odds ahead of Morton or Grimes at theirs. in fact I'd probably still take him ahead of the others if they were at the same odds Cheney is the next Jones, mark my words.
  12. Kyle Cheney (Melbourne) 151.00 easy money
  13. nasdaq.com, comsec, heraldsun footy, theage.com(business), heraldsun opinion, demonland... if i'm lucky that pushes me to 10:00 when the market opens for the day and I can again watch all my money being lost!!!!!!!!! stupid share market, it's like following MFC.
  14. It seems now that most supporters are accepting that we are not going to perform next year, but I tend to disagree. It sounds to me like the club is putting more focus on 2010 as a target for a premiership, not necessarily disqualifying us from finals this year but probably accepting that we won't have a serious crack at top 4. I think it also gives us an insight into the intentions of the club in terms of development of our list. With our current list we should be making finals, injuries aside our list is most definately in the top 8, development or no development, anything less will reflect poorly on the coaching staff.
  15. love it. Nothing beats a good kick of the footy.
  16. Good work by you CAC. just one more thing. From this year's drafts which somkey brings the biggest smile to your face? I know you want to tell us.
  17. PG is great, he is the voice of the smaller clubs, good on him for sticking his neck out there.
  18. Make no mistake, MFC will be better off if they introduce more clubs. My biggest concern for MFC is our relative position on the financial ladder. The Roos currently occupy bottom spot on that ladder and that takes pressure off us. If the kangas had chosen to move north then their money problems would be over and we would be one step closer to the poorest club in the afl. But if we introduce more teams then the afl will be populated (theoretically) by a larger number of small clubs, rather than a smaller number of large clubs, personally i think we should do everything we can to avoid the latter. Also I think we would be better off with a system where by each team plays eachother once in the regular season, with more teams it is possible.
  19. Just signed up myself. Best to sign up early so the club can have access to my money sooner.
  20. Good recruiting and list management wins you flags, I am confident a flag will be won with players hand picked by CAC, the question is which club will he be recruiting for. Nugget, only one of your arguments makes any sense, he will undoubtedly get paid more at richmond, but I think it is far more likely that his decision will be swayed by tuhe fact Richmond's recruiting department will have a lot more resources available to them. I also think that CAC's role in Melbourne is being slightly diminished with new names coming on board. Not that I disagree with the new names. Again I am impressed with DB, he has listened to the fans and recognised CAC's contribution. I suspect he will still go to Richmond but at the very least we can raise his price tag.
  21. Is it true that CAC used to post here on Demonland from time to time? If so I feel he should post us a "parting gift" by giving a full and complete run down on his thoughts of our newly drafted players, their strengths and weaknesses, maybe a player he would have like to draft but didn't.... and so on and so forth. If we are owed anything then we are owed that.
  22. This is a disaster, our best most proven tallent in football operations and he is leaving before his contract is even half way through!! What does this say about MFC, about the new coaching staff and everyone else? I'm angry and dissapointed, angry at Richmond for making such an aggresive and positvie move, and dissapointed that our club couldn't do more to secure his services.
  23. Yet another reason Macs are useless. I'm so excited by CAC, he just eats this stuff up, what a legend.
  24. Thanks for the vote of confidence DD
