  1. NGA players go from being NGA players to Qualfied NGA players in their draft year (draftable and matchable). Thats always been just a standard process done by clubs and the AFL during the year and is the NGA lists that pop up on the AFL website and the like through the year. I thought it was basically an automatic process in the draft year that they become that then, at the draft, clubs bid and the players Academy club can match with points or they choose not to. Collingwood have no category b rookie spots so they cant rookie him automatically if he falls through the draft as a category B and they obviously dont want to take him In the national draft. Either they are just announcing it for the player’s emotional benefit, for the smoother running of the draft or there is now a a more specific nomination process closer to the draft. But i thought NGA players were essentially automatically tied to their home clubs (match bids notwithstanding) unlike father sons who both player and club have to submit agreement paperwork to the AFL prior to the draft almost like a trade, as per Taj Woewodin. NGA players agree to be tied to club when they join the academy. Re Dib they could still draft him in the normal rookie draft, but its the first time an announcement of this type has been made, maybe the AFL has a new rule where clubs have to specifically announce and lock in the NGA players they intend to draft but that hasnt been the case previously. Its possible the journos have found out or been told that Dib bid wont be matched and their article suggests there’s an official process that doesnt exist. Not 100% sure. Edit: Actually i am wrong and there is a nomination process, was Friday, and its just newsworthy they havent nommed him.
  2. There is no rookie nominating before the National draft. Clubs can list their nominated father-son or NGA players as rookies for free after the National Draft and before the rookie draft if obviously they are passed over initially. Adelaide declined to nominate Luke Edwards as a father-son altogether so he was fair game last year in the ND. Gold Coast were able to Prelist their Zone selections as Rookies last year.
  3. My assessmement is the quote attached above and the discussion in the Rhyan Mansell thread are compelling in regards to what you thought of Roberts last year. Now all of a sudden that he is in some phantoms, you have latched on to him. Im still waiting for your help in accessing the WAFL colts tapes - or how to.
  4. ThanksTurner, if you could provide a full report on his prognostications of last year that would be awesome.
  5. Found it...sorry for the delay, had to trawl through the Melbourne should Draft Zavier Maher, Eddie Ford and Isiah Winder with our first rounder content.
  6. He plays like he is scared is the reason, and the market for receivers with no x-factor is very small. There’s a game where he costs the Eagles three goals by not being unconditional at the contest. And hes never shown contested marking ability of any not to be a genuine KPP!
  7. You only have picks that correspond to vacant list spots and, in any case, picks in the 90s bave no points
  8. I was of the belief ex North small Eddie Sainsbury was his biological father, leaving open the possibility of a triple barrelled name!!!

  11. Oliver played a 9/10 game in my opinion and there were probably eight players who played 8/ or 8.5/10 games, very difficult splitting up the votegetters many weeks

  19. He's the second worst judge in the industry
  20. A brutal task - many deserving 6. Christian Petracca 5. Clayton Oliver 4. Steven May 3. Max Gawn 2. Christian Salem 1. Tom McDonald Its an absolute travesty that I don't give votes to Hibberd who was enormous on Rozee, to Petty who played his best game and Pickett who played his role as well as you can pretty much. The substance of our A graders was too much for them to overcome, as it was for the Power!
  21. Perhaps you could just say we should take him as a 1st round pick candidate and that will be enough to see him slide, a la Winder, Ford and Maher!
  22. He has done more to destroy the spirit and essence of the game of Aussie Rules football than anyone in its history, sidestepping what should be checks and balances against such behaviour. He is widely despised!
  23. Quite comfortably the worst and most disliked official in AFL history I would imagine.
