What if there were no hypothetical questions?

Does it really matter if we don't have a sponsor on the FOJ? Or the back for that matter. If we are in a solid financial position; does it really matter if we don't have a sponsor at all. From my point of view the sponsors logo/s make the jumper look tatty. I much prefer just the plain guernsey.

1. Trengove 2. To be named 3. To be named 4. To be named 5. To be named

Now That is food for thought.

Sorry Romey but Nathan Buckley was a devout C'wood fan. He didn't want to go any where but the wobbles. He was not allowed to nominate a team and thus he was drafted by the Bears; he only signed under the condition he would be traded in 2 years time.

Purely and simply because its still night time. A long night indeed.

"Slightly different skills, where it sounds like the runner went out to tell all to go back to the backline for the last couple of minutes to defend." That's a joke right. I have never seen a runner in 40 years of playing footy around the country. We are talking about country footy in the sixties.

Flooding has been around since day one in the old VFL. I can remember back in 1962 when Charlie Sutton fresh from Footscray was coaching Kyabram in the preliminary final in the Goulbourn Valley league. Tatura, in a cliff hanger game, was 2-3 points down in the dying minutes of the game when I marked on the HBF and ran the ball all the way to beyond the wing. Looking upfield all I could see was kyabram colours. Of course I fluffed getting through and they cleared the ball and ran out winners. This was a flood VFL/AFL style and we had never seen anything like it in the bush. I had no idea what to do at the time and neither did any of the Tat lads. People who think that flooding is an AFL invention ( as opposed to a VFL creation ) are either too young to know or have lost their memories.

Why posters open duplicate threads is beyond me. I have the perfect answer to your concerns and if you want to know what it is then go to the game day thread, where this thread belongs.

In actual fact Thommo we do have a sponsor for the FOJ. Reach, was quite plain to see despite the rain. Doesn't matter if they pay us the minimum amount, a sponsor is a sponsor. And does it really matter if we have a sponsor or not? If you look back at the jumpers from the premiership decade you will notice that the FOJ is bare as well. The general consensus is that a paying sponsor is on the way so relax and revisit this thread in a months time.

Where we came unstuck today was fumbling the loose ball and turning it over. Wet slippery ball and wet weather footy; is something the boys are not used to. Not a great worry from todays perspective. MFC is the hardest to beat side each of our opponents have come up against and that is what Neeld said. Personally I thought it was a good hit out for us.

Isn't this why we have the locker room? I hate multiple threads with a vengeance.

Casey player faces 2 year ban for drug purchase.

How to get rid of unwanted fat. Melt it in a baking dish in the oven and tip it down the drain. -
I thought beach running was supposed to strengthen muscles, not weaken bones. Thanks for the tip.

I know it's early but couldn't help but notice that the top two paid players, $2 mill p.a between them, scored 23 and -3 SC points respectively. If this keeps up other players could be putting their hands out. Was surprised at the performance; it was very good and they will give a lot of teams a run for their money this year; and the possibility exists that the above two mentioned players could be headed for delisting at the end of the year. I have a feeling that the year will not pan out the way most pundits think.

I came across this today and thought I would share it here. There are some good reasons why Sydneysiders should get behind the GWS. Little reasons add up for Giants supporters by Richard Hinds February 18, 2012 Illustration: Rocco Fazzari THE GWS Giants start their competitive life in the NAB Cup tonight. So why should your forsake the Swans - or even the Panthers - in favour of the new franchise? Well … ❏ Behind the sheep and fleece exhibition, pig judging, showgirl competition and woodchop, the Giants will be one of the major attractions at the Sydney Showground this year. ❏ There is no need to worry about accessorising your Giants guernsey. Orange clashes with charcoal ❏ Scully is a top-line recruit who will prove the critics who predicted his deal would place too much pressure on the Giants' salary cap wrong. And so is his son Tom. ❏ You don't only get to cheer when Israel Folau takes a high ball. Even some of his knock-ons could prove useful if they end up in the right hands. ❏ Other than during derbies, you won't have to endure someone screeching: ''Go Swanneees!'' in your ears. ❏ The club's leadership group is so large that, with a premium membership, you get to lead out the team, toss the coin and fire up the boys before the bounce twice per season. ❏ Kevin Sheedy is expected to come with subtitles by the end of the season - handy for both players and members who have never heard of ''Daisy'' Williams, Kevin Walsh and the other Essendon greats he uses to illustrate his entertaining stories. ❏ The Giants No.1 draft pick Jon Patton was last seen entering a Swedish hospital on crutches. A slap in the face to critics who predicted it would be a heavy playing schedule that caused long-term injury problems for the team's young stars. ❏ If you sit behind the opposition goals, there should be at least 50 chances per game to catch a ''fly ball''. ❏ The Giants held their leadership group announcement at a city hotel and their first intra-club match in Moore Park. Proving you do not have to travel as far from the AFL's eastern suburban/lower north shore heartland to see the ''team of the greater west'' as you imagined. ❏ Without having played a single game, the club is already setting new landmarks. Greater Western Sydney Giants is, by a whopping three letters, the longest name in the AFL. Cop that North Melbourne Kangaroos! ❏ After watching the Giants train at Blacktown, you are only minutes away from the Rooty Hill RSL (March attractions: Shannon Noll, 10cc, The Sweet, Jasmine Rae, El Circo Rouge, The Delltones, Carl Barron.) After Swans training, all you've got is Paddington, Kings Cross or the eastern beaches. ❏ The Giants will be the only team that can simultaneously lose to a team by 20 goals, but still frighten the hell out of them by waving a cheque book at their star forward. ❏ The Giants have no known Buddhists, sparing fans the traditional ''AFL star meets Dalai Lama'' photo opportunity. ❏ They didn't recruit Brendan Fevola. ❏ No matter how the Giants rationalise defeats or cover up injuries, during the three home games in the ACT they will not be the biggest liars in Canberra. ❏ You figure AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou does not pay the bills without making sure that, in the not too distant future, his multimillion dollar western Sydney baby takes some pretty big steps. ❏ You will get to shake your head in smug disdain as AFL neophytes cheer points and good kicks into ''touch''. Just like you did at the SCG during the Swans' early years. ❏ You will get to put on your club issue lederhosen and belt out the club's rollicking, knee-slapping, beer hall theme song. Although the players might not be making a ''big sound from the west of the town'' for a year or two. ❏ If the profiles on the club website are anything to go by, the club is bristling with media talent: Take Gerald Ugle: ''Before a game I always make myself spaghetti and eggs on toast. When I'm in the gym, I like to get pumped up listening to my Ministry of Sound playlist.'' Hopefully, just the first instalment of a 22-part series. ❏ The Giants are one of the ''greenest'' clubs in the AFL. They have already recycled James McDonald, Luke Power, Chad Cornes and Dean Brogan who were left out on hard rubbish day by their former clubs. ❏ Most clubs sack a senior figure after losing a few games. Greater Western Sydney sacked their chief executive before even playing one. So you can't say they don't have a ruthless streak. ❏ If the Giants win one game and the Waratahs win six, they are certain to have better crowds by the end of the season. Go Giants! Melbourne in the news - Saturday 11th February, 2012

Some of you people here sure know how to ruin a good thread. In case you didn't know what you are gospelling about is what the locker room was created for. And your diatribes are soooo BORING. Moderator Old55: Moloney posts moved to the Locker Room -
Collingwood annoyed at Neelds early departure
skills32 replied to Deetective Sgt. Taggert's topic in Melbourne Demons
Old I too believe that originally he wanted back to backs badly but that as it got closer he was really stewing on effectively being dumped. He also knew Neeld's value to Cpllingwood and got his revenge. Lets see how this year pans out and if the wobbles go backward and the Demons advance we will have a fair indication. -

Collingwood shafted MM and maybe MM returned the compliment knowing that Neeld's presence in the last two games would be invaluable. MM had nothing to win or lose as it was to be his last year coaching. I believe that MM deliberately sabotaged Collingwood's chances of back to back flags. I am also happy to believe that the wobbles success in the last few years was due more to Neeld than Malthouse. -
From previous experince in a previous life I would like to suggest that having a "locker room" is not the answer because 1. As mentioned by a few posters, one has to think about which thread to post in when commenting and this can lead to mass confusion. ie when talking about the midfield composition and wanting say Grimes to be included: does it go in the current thread or the 'Grimes thread. 2. As also mentioned some posters just want to win an argument and won't even consider taking their debate to another thread. 3. There are usually only about 4 or 5 players under discussion/the hammer in any particular period of time; therefore we will have a lot of threads open with only 1 or 2 or none posts. 4. It would place an enormous burden on the moderators and they have enough on their plate now; work which is unrewarded and thankless. In an ideal world we would all like to see one continually flowing thread without interuptions and only one thread per topic. The answer IMO is to have a much discussed player thread ala Jack Viney; this thread is working a treat and should be used as an example of how to do it. If some one wants to discuss a player assets or liabilities then a new thread should be started and if it gains traction well and good and if it doesn't then it just falls off the page. I also believe that the mods should just delete posts which are offtopic or threaten to derail the thread. Posters will soon get the message. And if we divide the board even more where will Rollo go?
-
Yea but if talks were reported and reporting was mandatory then clubs would be better prepared ala Scullygate. If not reported then penalties apply. Making it illegal= same thing The club concerned could be looking at replacements much earlier.
-
A player should indicate to his club about approaches or signings by/with another club. This then allows his club to then plan for the upcoming draft/delistings etc in a more informed manner. Actually it should become mandatory.

Supermercado I would love to help but the best I can come up with is . I went to school with Bryan Keneally at Dandenong High . I umpired Aaron and Alwyn Davey playing u/14 &16s in Darwin . I played footie with David Cranage who claimed to be ex MFC 2nds in Port Moresby . I knew a guy in Darwin by the name of Geoff Case who also claimed to be the man (MFC wise). But have my doubts because he had the height of a hobbit. . I played senior rules with Brian Dixon in the inaugaural event in 199? whatever and I can tell you that rumours of a speedy wing man are all crap. . my best mate's house in Rosebud was adjacent to Norm Smith's holiday house on Rosebud and we used to watch he and Barassi play tennis every day. . I believe the great Jako is Jack Muellers secret love grand child. It's all anecdotal and I'm sorry but I don't have a photographic mind. The Demonwiki is a work of art and if people are looking for signatures to add to the petion for honours ( Sir Adam sounds nice) let me know. Well done on all your hard work and the hours you have put in to create it.

What the I believe part or the fact. Bailey coached Mt Gravat if you remember.

Great get Master. Re Bail recruitment I believe he was one of Dean Bailey's picks so BP should not get the credit.
