Farewell Jesse Hogan
Agreed. I think my opinion settled on him when watching a rare televised Casey game last year where he kicked a bag of 7. Heâd already shown his cleanly use of the ball in the seniors, but this game showed aerial dominance which hadnât been evident until then. Iâve thought since then that as long as he has the appetite for hard work, for us itâs just sit back and patiently wait until he fills out and gains the confidence that comes with it. I understand why some want to see it to believe it; weâve all been disappointed before, but sometimes I think people should just look at whatâs right in front of them. Some people used Weidemanâs name in the same sentence as Lucas Cook. Thatâs a position I didnât understand even at the time and looks beyond stupid now.

I thought at the time Hogan was settled and wouldnât go. I donât think I was emphatic about it, itâs just what I thought. I did comment about the stupid tone in the âtrade Hoganâ movement when they popped up every time we lost. I also didnât think the club would actively seek a trade, based on the picture that seemed apparent to me at the time, however the picture looked pretty different by the end. My bum is fine, thanks for asking.

Rumour File
I donât agree with that. Wanting to go home and not wanting to go to Freo arenât mutually exclusive positions. âI want to go homeâ and âI want to go home at all costsâ are different propositions. The inability to get a deal done with West Coast means heâs faced with two poor choices: not make it home, or go to Freo, and he chose. It doesnât discredit his desire to get home, it just means it was trumped by his desire not to play for Fremantle. Who could blame him?

He is a skilled bullshit artist. All his posts have an element of credibility, thatâs why so many believe his crap.

He was just sharing information rp. Not sure why youâd pot him for that. Nup, canât say it with a straight face.

Itâs nice that youâre going to love Sam May but how will you feel about Steven, Ron?

Let the Yawn Fest Begin
Iâve never been able to get in to those yank sports. Iâve never understood how you can come to barrack for a team without some kind of tie to it, be it geographically or parental indoctrination. It always seems artificial to me, and without a team to support I find it hard to engage at all.

2019 Jumper Numbers
12 for Preuss so he is next to Max in the locker room.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Hijacking the thread a little (Iâll create a new one later) but Iâd give Preuss 12 so heâs next to Max in the locker room.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Hopefully he turns out capable. I canât see the workload we had on Max this year as being sustainable going forward, so I expect at times Preuss will need to play whether heâs a capable forward or not. Especially now that weâve lost our main forward, meaning moving TMac or Weid in to the ruck hurts more than it previously did.

2018 AFL NAB NATIONAL DRAFT ORDER
WJ did you put in the leg work yourself to track all the trades? Great work if so. The trading period always seems pretty benign until you see that this year the vast majority of the picks between 10 and 50 have changed hands at least once. Some of the have really been for a few spins around the block.

The other was Caddy.

Another Dodo special. Essendon fans ought to be livid.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
For those who believe Mahoney caves too easy and should take a harder stance, consider Adrian Dodoro at Essendon, who has not for the first time just failed to deliver a trade for a big name player who wanted to go there. Edit: Iâm dumb, trade period not closed yet. Hopefully this turns out to still be true in a few hours ?

Weâre over 10000 already mate.

As if we get Cerra. You donât get clubâs best young players tossed in for good measure. Bell wonât spend two weeks strutting only to do that.

I donât think so sue. Cripps is from WA and thereâs never been any noise about a return there. Simon Black from WA had a long and fruitful career in Brisbane. The AFL is littered with interstate players who settle in. Furthermore I believe this has been as much driven by the MFC as it was Hogan driven.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I was going to point out that you were delusional, but I see you already acknowledged it. ?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Mahoneyâs MFC are not in the business of shifting the goalposts. That would be a one-way street to deal collapse.

FYI all, the official thread count including deleted posts is already at 400. The milestone is already reached.

Was it Essendon trying to trade for Josh Caddy a few years ago that ended up at arbitration and ended up falling through? It would be comedy gold if they couldnât deliver on this either. But Adrian Dodo says theyâre not hard to deal with.

Thatâs the rule, but itâs not the first time weâve let bygones be bygones, there are a handful of posters active in this thread in the same boat. This incarnation is wearing pretty thin though, especially when he had the hide to tell Andy to make sure he was moderating fairly, given that rule and our generous application of it.

Would we take $cully back?
Outcome based trades. GWS outcome: salary cap dump. Hawthorn outcome: ?? This seems like an enormous risk for the Hawks to take. Their salary cap must already be tight without taking on one of the biggest contracts in the AFL. The risk of Scully not being the same after this injury seems material and compounds the issue. All this for a player who is very good but not great.

Not the dreaded 60s. Gee whiz, we might even take a player in the 70s.
