  1. If thinking people should be above throwing punches at anyone makes me a virtuously superior SJW, sign me up ?
  2. Bloke bashes the daylights out of a mentally impaired man, but it’s all fine because they exchanged a few words and the victim knocked a beer out of his hand beforehand. F me, our society’s attitude towards violence is the pits. It staggers me that anyone thinks this is even remotely defensible, or that the two acts are in any way comparable.
  3. Probably trying too hard as a result of every second bastard being onhis case.
  4. I dunno mate, just assumed we’d need two talls. Haven’t watched a red second of Hawthorn this year. If we don’t, so be it. The point was I want TMac back in to the forward line.
  5. You’ve seen how fast lies spread in the footy world. “They turned up unfit” and “they drank their own bathwater” is circulating about our players at a furious pace, even on this forum where we’re supposed to be on their side. I think he has every right to respond with a rebuttal. Yes, obviously we would all prefer the club responded by hitting the magic “get good at footy” switch again instead of talking (nobody moreso than Max I reckon), but of course since that doesn’t exist, he is allowed to defend himself.
  6. In: O.McDonald Out: Viney Won’t satisy anyone’s bloodlust, but I’m fine with that. TMac to go forward again. Weideman stays in. We need to figure out how to make that combination work again - it’s far too important for the future to abandon now. It’s reason #1 why we’ve been garbage. Not too interested in any other fringe player swaps, though I wouldn’t be averse to having a look at Keilty.
  7. Pick 10 is high enough to get a very good player. The days of hoping we play worse so we advance a couple of spots in the draft are behind me, personally. I won’t do that and would prefer 9th over 10th, 10th over 11th, 11th over 12th and 17th over 18th.
  8. Righto then mate. Stone motherless last. No scope for improvement in this side whatsoever. ?
  9. We will finish in the 9-12 range.
  10. Just a fleeting visit. We’re not here to stay.
  11. Did Keilty do enough to put himself in contention? We are in need of a forward who can mark.
  12. Been watching the Freo Bulldogs game, one highlight for Freo is their talls in Hogan and Taberner taking marks. Liked the move of TMac back to defence to get him back in the game again, but this has reinforced to me that we have to get him back playing as a marking forward ASAP. We also have to persist with Weideman. I’m 100% convinced that if we can correct that one single aspect of our game, rapid improvement will come.
  13. It’s because nobody has actually died.
  14. Not that I expect anyone to give a rat’s about my threats but if we on Demonland are about to embark on another round of barracking for losses or hoping other sht teams crawl past us, I am out of here. We’ve seen how much that hurt last time and the payoff was far from worth it. That’s a loser’s game - even if it’s only supporters - and I’m not playing it. I hope Port win by 100.
  15. Rewind the clock about two minutes further and see Baguley get a free kick and goal for a hold when he was the one doing the holding. Total BS free kick. If that hadn’t happened Essendon fans would have nothing to complain about as the game should have been out if reach by the time the Pendlebury thing happened. I think in general in our game we have a culture of pissing and moaning about umpiring in general. It’s a game where a lot of the rules are subjective. In every single game there’s calls good and bad. It’s the nature of the game. It’s a garbage excuse for booing 10 minutes after the game anyway. On a day that is supposed to be about coming togetherness, while ANZAC representatives were on the ground awarding a champion player. Boo your head off while the game is being played, and even after the siren. Once the presentations start, STFU and show some respect.
  16. Sorry, frustration gets the better of me sometimes. With regards to Jones - he’s struggling for sure, however I can’t see him being dropped. There’s at least 3 players I can think of that would be first and there are zero players at Casey better than him. He will be persevered with for some time yet. As for the games record, if it’s irrelevant as you’re now saying, then I’m not sure why you brought it up in the first place. Your whole post was centred around him not being worthy for holding these records, I’m not sure what else you were expecting us to conclude.
  17. @praha- it’s also within threads. Nathan Jones should apparently stand aside cos this dude thinks he isn’t worthy of second place on our all times games list.
  18. He’s not used to the speed of the game yet - has been done for holding the ball at least once per game and isn’t in games for long enough. I like his attributes, but in my view it’s unrealised potential with a few cameos per game at this point. Would be developing in the VFL ideally if our first choice flankers in Hannan and AVB weren’t out.
  19. Essendon fans cementing their spots as the most disgusting supporters in the game. Outstanding response by Buckley.
  20. He was a leader in forward line pressure last year, which made his uncleanliness with the ball bearable. Adds nothing to the team if he’s not doing that.
  21. Why do you still follow the club WYL? I wouldn’t be able to bring myself to watch games or log on to Demonland if I thought the situation was irredeemably hopeless.
  22. How were you feeling after the first quarter, where we were leading? Were there really no positives? Not one single thing worked well at any stage? I think the last line I’ve quoted sums up where my view differs from most. I don’t take anything the coach says personally. Unless he looks down the camera and addresses me by name, I can’t be insulted by what he says. It’s not his job to soothe upset fans, as grown adults we need to be able to do that ourselves.
  23. Give me an example of a successful coach who didn’t give trite, repetitive platitudes when the team was playing like crap? Actually put up a clip. What were Clarkson or Hardwick saying to the media in the years their teams were struggling? Can anyone remember a pale Neale Daniher sitting in front of the press in one of those down years after a woeful loss, mumbling “we’re tryin’ to build a spine”? Hindsight tells us Daniher was a very capable coach. Coaches in press conferences are on a hiding to nothing. I put it out there that there’s absolutely nothing Goodwin could say that will please everyone. Someone actually said in the post match thread that he wanted to see the coach “irrational” - that’s the last thing I want to see and will know he’s cooked as soon as he is. His message has been steady and consistent. It’s hard to hear when we’re so angry and disappointed, but nothing Goodwin has said is wrong or suggests incompetence.
