  1. It's one thing to express disappointment at the relationship between MFC and Sandy, it's another to go off half cocked and point the fingers at the wrong people. If you went to Sandy and gave Mark Williams a piece of your mind about picking Sautner then you're seriously barking up the wrong tree and it says more about you than it does him. Have fun standing at TBO by yourself on Sunday. The game has been moved to Monday.
  2. Reserves side (thanks to Ray S on 'ology): B Dean Gribbin Collyer HB Monaghan McGettigan Weetra C Bode Paterakis Neville HF Zarra McKenzie T. Johnston F Martyn Dunne Hayes R Ott Gilchrist M. Johnston Int Tregear Gileno Turcarelli Paule Henry Gibb Liddell Nice to see Isaac Weetra back. Hopefully the kid can have a bit of luck go his way, and hopefully soon push for senior selection at Sandringham.
  3. More like they paid for a Ferrari but delivered a Hyundai. I'll bet anything the AFL paid an absolute fortune for the development of that website. Jeff's absolutely spot on and I'm surprised no other presidents have raised this earlier. I'm yet to speak to a single person who is happy with the way the club/AFL websites operate.
  4. Do you write McDonland instead of McDonald on purpose? That's at least three times I've seen you write that now. (Edit: According to the search you've done it 15 times ) BTW I believe Godfrey and Brown have earned the right to be "favourites" given their endeavour, hardness and work ethic. These guys would throw themselves on a grenade for the team, and that's a quality which our coach appears to rate highly. Not quite sure what he sees in Ward though.
  5. I don't know how much I believe. I've known a few people who have had their lives ruined by the drug in question and based on my experience, I very highly doubt he had much of a problem prior to the end of the season last year.
  6. I'm not on the moral high ground at all, my reason for not wanting Cousins has nothing to do with morals. Driving while drunk, however, does not have anywhere near as much potential to damage their on field performance as a chronic Ice addiction would. You only need to watch footage of Cousins' preseason training to see how unfit he was. Ice is one of the most difficult addictions to break, much more difficult than a typical alcohol addiction, and does a heck of a lot more SELF damage (that's all I'm interested in) in the short and long term.
  7. Bzzzzzt. Nothing we've seen AFL footy so far is as antisocial or body and mind destroying as an Ice addiction.
  8. I've split this off in to its own topic. Took a little stuffing around but I got there Sorry about the interruption, carry on.
  9. That is the third bloody hilarious comment I've read on this forum this week. Either Demonlanders are on fire or I'm still drugged up on victory.
  10. The most ironic thing I thought about the programme was that BT was carrying on for about an hour about how nobody cares about us. I was thinking at the time, if nobody cares about us, why are you STILL talking about us after all this time?
  11. That's not what I was suggesting at all. I give up. Great post Real Demon, I think you've done a much better job of summing up than I have.
  12. I've never made any of those comments either Jaded, for the same reason. :D You're right though, those usual comments you mentioned are exactly the same and I feel the same way about them as I do this poll. They're overly simplistic one liners that make no attempt to address the real issues or weigh up the pros and cons of the debate. If someone started any of the following threads, based on your one liners there: Should we debut Newton: Yes/No Should we just play the kids from now on: Yes/No Shouldwe always just kick the ball long into our forward line: Yes/No My response would be identical as above.
  13. I'm not denying anyone their right to an opinion Jaded, I even said that. I'm just saying that I can't hope to make an informed decision on this matter and I fail to see how anyone else can. People can say what they want and have their own opinions. My opinion is that they're forming their opinion on the basis of little. I do have my own thoughts about which way I believe the club should go, but this thread asks for what "I want", and what I want is for the board to make an informed decision based on thorough research on the future of this club. That's all I want.
  14. Who's to say Neale has tried to "copy" anyone? Before the season the coaching staff identified our weaknesses and tried to address them. Look, you're entitled to your opinion of course, but I think you (and by you I mean many people, not just yourself Clint) are forming an opinion from your interpretation on about 1% of all the facts, the other 99% of which are unavailable to the general supporter. It's why I won't make a call on Daniher one way or the other, because I believe I don't know enough to fully understand the situation. It's why I hope the board are thorough in their review at season's end. They have access to all the facts that I (we) don't.
  15. Fact: you don't know the reasoning or logic behind any of those decisions. You can only guess. You can also only guess as to what difference other players in the side might make. Guessing doesn't cut the mustard I'm afraid.
  16. I personally think the "I want Daniher as coach" or "I want anyone but Daniher as coach" or "I want Person X as coach" attitude is extremely selfish. All I ask for is that the board, AT THE END OF THE SEASON, sit down and do a full review of the FD and figure out what is the best way forward. I don't really mind what the outcome is, so long as I'm comfortable that the review was thorough and every possible avenue explored. No person on the outer has enough facts to judge who would be the best coach for the coming seasons. That's why I think what we "want" is a moot point.
  17. Seemed overawed last week but took a good step forward this week. That's all you can ask for and I'm happy with that.
  18. LMFAO. Call of the day. I might put that quote in my signature.
  19. Thanks Paul for vindicating my defence of you. A+ game today.
  20. That's what I was thinking DD. Brett Voss should be a walk up start to that 22. I like kieranbj's idea of the divisions, it's a good one. The Allies idea was the biggest crock I'd ever seen. I certainly didn't feel represented by that side.
  21. Walls said we should trade White, yet said Richmond should keep Simmonds because they have no ruck depth. Errrrr... I think that pretty much sums up what I think about Walls' opinion/credibility.
  22. I'll put all my debts on the line if there's any takers?
  23. There's a huge difference. Adelaide (and Port, Freo and WCE) farm their players off to many different clubs. SANFL Club X won't play Young Gun Y in the position we recruited him to play? Simple, we'll move him off to a different club that will. As a real world example, if we were any of the clubs outside Victoria we wouldn't be seeing the farcical situation we have at Sandy where Newton plays on a wing because Sautner is hogging FF. We can't do anything about it because there's nowhere else Newton could play, where as in the SANFL he could just switch clubs (between seasons, anyway). The level of control we have over our players at Sandy is significantly less than the interstate clubs have over their developing youngsters. The same applies for any team inside Victoria. It's a big competitive disadvantage.
