  1. Gone to Freo I reckon. Jack Viney had already well and truly signed by now. (congratulations Mr and Mrs Jones!)
  2. Yeah look, apparently he's orright and I can't imagine this thread going anywhere good based on the last few posts. Closed!
  3. Nah, you're confusing two different people. Skills32 was the eccentric, overzealous moderator from Demonology.
  4. His alias was "Dees Dayz", he changed to "Tigers Dayz". That wasn't a dignified "I've had enough" like this one though, it was a spectacular nana spit, and if I remember rightly, it was over Demonland members arguing with him rather than anything happening on the field. The whole thing was pretty sad. Ed: wrong quote. Please pretend I quoted BA and not jumbo.
  5. What are you on about mate? Heard of Angus Brayshaw or Clayton Oliver? They both came straight out of the draft room and into the seniors. We clearly treat them on a case by case basis. Weideman spending time in the VFL isn't because of some unwritten rule or because we're Melbourne, it's because our coaches think it's the most appropriate course for his stage of development. I think he'll play sooner rather than later, but I'm in no hurry and am quite content to let him hone his craft at Casey first. If he's good enough he'll be picked. Ed: spelling. "Weniors", really?
  6. Not really, Neeld was a complete disaster introduced by incompetent administration. This is the byproduct of what I believe is fundamentally a good plan. The players love Goodwin and want to play for him by all reports, which has probably happened ahead of time. With Neeld our club was in freefall with no exit plan. That was a truly terrifying period to support the club.
  7. The problem is there's no point asking Roos the hard questions because he can't really be put under any pressure. His role all along has been quality builder and heat taker. The problem we have now is we're ready to take the next step with our new coach, but for this season we've still got the coach whose brief basically allows him to ignore or shrug off poor performances. Goodwin should be in command of the side, but he's not so I think we're just going to have to live with it.
  8. Yes. Every year the pre-season is 4-5 months, and every year some clubs come out firing and some clubs come out flat. I'm not sure what your point is.
  9. What's the relationship between months of pre-season and round 1-2 form?
  10. According to one of the commentators last night, apparently only 2 sides who started the season 0-2 have made the finals in the last 41 years, and one of those sides was Carlton when Essendon were disqualified. At the moment that is only Brisbane, and it looks like St Kilda and Freo might be added tonight. It's stupid to say a side who is 1-1 is season over. So much can happen over a 22 week season.
  11. Nope. We're never going to win another game ever again. We are stuck in this moment forever.
  12. The old "I only remember the last thing I saw and project it forward ad infinitum" trick. Come on guys, we won't be that crap every week. Nobody was questioning this after last week or the preseason. We know we are capable of much better and I expect us to deliver it more often.
  13. So heartened by the description of Trengove's game. I wonder how far off a full VFL match he is? Thank goodness for some excellent news on a glum day.
  14. Daniher towers over Garland, and his reach and leap is incredible. I'm not sure the player who is the right match-up for him is even on our list. OMac might be it, but not yet.
  15. In: ANB, Stretch, Dunn Out: Kent, Brayshaw, Bugg. ANB in as we have to reward good form and by the sounds, he demonstrated it in the VFL with 36 touches.Stretch to provide run, and Dunn as we need an extra tall defender. Kent for the reciprocal reason as selecting ANB. This is exactly the knock on him - he becomes an invisible man. Standards need to be upheld and he was a passenger today. Brayshaw is not ready. Roos is right in that he should have played VFL in hindsight. I could be persuaded that perhaps now that he's in he can find touch in the seniors, but while actual match fit players are in the twos, I think he should go. I also don't want to start playing selection ping-pong with one of our key commodities though, as it could be confidence eroding. Plenty to think about here. Bugg just the next poor player with no credits left. Would be happy to listen to reasons why others, such as Harmes, might go first (I thought Harmes was OK today) but I just reckon Tommy is next.
  16. Got GC vs Freo on. Haven't seen a single one of those deliberates paid by mid second term. It truly feels like the game I'm watching is being played by different rules to today's or last night's game.
  17. You are posting pure garbage made. Take a break and cool off, seriously.
  18. I don't recall you making one peep about Stretch in the leadup. Stop carrying on as if it was obvious; he was never in the frame. As if it would have had a huge impact anyway when the whole midfield played garbage. Roos comment is obviously in hindsight. He clearly didn't think selecting Brayshaw was an error at the time or he wouldn't have selected him.
  19. 2018 premiers to wooden spooners in the space of a week! Seriously. Get a grip.
  20. I don't know if I want a hug or to punch a hole in the wall. God damn supporting this club is hard work. That was just so disappointing.
