Yes. Every year the pre-season is 4-5 months, and every year some clubs come out firing and some clubs come out flat. I'm not sure what your point is.
-
What's the relationship between months of pre-season and round 1-2 form?
-
According to one of the commentators last night, apparently only 2 sides who started the season 0-2 have made the finals in the last 41 years, and one of those sides was Carlton when Essendon were disqualified. At the moment that is only Brisbane, and it looks like St Kilda and Freo might be added tonight. It's stupid to say a side who is 1-1 is season over. So much can happen over a 22 week season.

Nope. We're never going to win another game ever again. We are stuck in this moment forever.

ARe we confident of getting more than seven wins this year?
Nasher replied to leave it to deever's topic in Melbourne Demons
The old "I only remember the last thing I saw and project it forward ad infinitum" trick. Come on guys, we won't be that crap every week. Nobody was questioning this after last week or the preseason. We know we are capable of much better and I expect us to deliver it more often. -
Humour. I chuckled!

So heartened by the description of Trengove's game. I wonder how far off a full VFL match he is? Thank goodness for some excellent news on a glum day.
-
Daniher towers over Garland, and his reach and leap is incredible. I'm not sure the player who is the right match-up for him is even on our list. OMac might be it, but not yet.

It's round two and we are 1-1. -
In: ANB, Stretch, Dunn Out: Kent, Brayshaw, Bugg. ANB in as we have to reward good form and by the sounds, he demonstrated it in the VFL with 36 touches.Stretch to provide run, and Dunn as we need an extra tall defender. Kent for the reciprocal reason as selecting ANB. This is exactly the knock on him - he becomes an invisible man. Standards need to be upheld and he was a passenger today. Brayshaw is not ready. Roos is right in that he should have played VFL in hindsight. I could be persuaded that perhaps now that he's in he can find touch in the seniors, but while actual match fit players are in the twos, I think he should go. I also don't want to start playing selection ping-pong with one of our key commodities though, as it could be confidence eroding. Plenty to think about here. Bugg just the next poor player with no credits left. Would be happy to listen to reasons why others, such as Harmes, might go first (I thought Harmes was OK today) but I just reckon Tommy is next.

Got GC vs Freo on. Haven't seen a single one of those deliberates paid by mid second term. It truly feels like the game I'm watching is being played by different rules to today's or last night's game.

You are posting pure garbage made. Take a break and cool off, seriously.
-
I don't recall you making one peep about Stretch in the leadup. Stop carrying on as if it was obvious; he was never in the frame. As if it would have had a huge impact anyway when the whole midfield played garbage. Roos comment is obviously in hindsight. He clearly didn't think selecting Brayshaw was an error at the time or he wouldn't have selected him.

2018 premiers to wooden spooners in the space of a week! Seriously. Get a grip.
-
I don't know if I want a hug or to punch a hole in the wall. God damn supporting this club is hard work. That was just so disappointing.
-
I [censored] hate this game.
-
My blood pressure has gone through the roof. It's not over yet though. Obviously any idea of a thrashing can be dashed, but hopefully we can turn up the intensity a whisker or two and win. I haven't given up.

Well I did all my literal sailing weeks ago, and I'm too uncreative to come up with figurative sailing metaphors, so I'm on solid ground and very excited for this game. I can't remember the last time we were so overwhelmingly stronger than the opposition, this is a great opportunity to really add confidence and really get some momentum going. Can't wait!

Richmond:

Jeez, that was limp. Awful game made rich only by a big crowd and a Richmond capitulation.

http://www.metrotas.com.au/communication/blog/2015/ract-boundary-rider-services-for-afl-matches-in-2015/ - it's last year's info but I'm sure it'll be similar. BA is in the middle of a residential zone and getting in and out is a bugger for big events. These games usually fill the stadium, so it wouldn't surprise me if there's not much left. I got my tickets from the MFC allocation; I got an email from the club months ago wanting me to organise it. I'm not as convinced as DaleDee that it won't sell out.

I just realised and threw up in my mouth a little
Nasher replied to Redjacket's topic in Melbourne Demons
To me it is dc. My ambivalence towards the strange double standard is probably driven by the fact that a) I don't mind the white, I think it looks okay, and b) I just don't give a fig about being made to wear a different guernsey in the first place. The double standard has no practical impact on me whatsoever, so I'm happy to just ignore it. -

Things that still surprise me: 1) That people hate the white so much 2) That people still post the red guernsey when it's clear it's never going to happen. 3) That people resent the AFL so much for imposing a rule that clearly makes sense from a watchability perspective. *shrug* I'm looking forward to see our white clad team roll Essendon in their traditional colours. -
MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 2, 2016
Nasher replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think it's pretty disrespectful to call him Harry O.
