  1. AFL Rule 15.2.1 In Possession of the Football A Player is in possession of the football if, in the opinion of the field Umpire ... (a) the Player is holding or otherwise has control of the football. There is nothing in the Rules that says a player kicking for goal is not "in possession". AFL Rule 15.2.2 Remaining in Possession and Bouncing the Football ... (b) Where a Player is moving whilst in possession of the football, he or she must bounce or touch the football on the ground at least once every 15 metres, irrespective of whether such Player is running in a straight line or otherwise. I've counted Ben Brown's run-up to kick as around 23 paces. Give the rule, why isn't he required to bounce the ball once during his run-up? Or, alternatively, why is he permitted to have such a long run-up at all?
  2. What makes you think Tyson would just want to pack his bags and move to Adelaide? He's already been Oakleigh Chargers-Sydney-Melbourne.
  3. Gotta love SEN. Four hours ago he's bound for Melbourne, then 30 minutes ago he's a certainty for Collingwood.

    Arnold Palmer dead at 87.
  5. Better this year than next year then.
  6. Learn to tackle lower, or learn to grab the arm a la Viney on Weller.
  7. Meat and three vegs? He's a 10-course gourmet tasting menu!
  8. Nah, he's just gone over there for 'a look around'.
  9. So you applaud the WADA decision, except for the penalty they handed out and you want to add more? When every player has served their penalty, they are entitled to resume their trade, as far as I'm concerned. Melksham has been through a lot (and is culpable for it), and now misses a season of football with a new club. But that's punishment enough, and WADA says so..
  10. And it tends to go a bit mushy. You can always make a banana cake from the bad ones.
  11. Bananas. This thread was about them once, back in the good old days.
  12. A blockathon in the India v SAf test. South Africa are 5/136 off 138 overs (85 maidens) at tea on the last day, trying to rescue the test. Amla 25 off 244 balls, Du Plessis 10 off 97, AB de Villiers 43 not out off 296.
  13. One game is hardly a good sample to make a judgement.
  14. You can be a skinny Toumpas or a skinny Heppell. There's nothing early on that says how you'll end up. Heppell goes OK. Essendon might get a lot of value out of Parish.
  15. Not complaining. There's some Scully in Parish and some Dangerfield in Oliver.
  16. Tyson has a contract at Melbourne until the end of 2017.
  17. It's perfectly possible to express appreciation of posts and player's physical prowess without resorting to pubescent sexual innuendo and references to 'boners'. There are thousands of other perjoratives in the dictionary, try looking some up. It might increase your vocabulary, make you better writers and develop your frontal lobes a little.
  18. Nails with a point on each end save time because you don't have spend a second working out which way they go in.
  19. Since our aim this year is to rid ourselves of several ball butchers, I cringe at the idea of importing another one.
  20. Thomas Fuller wrote "It is always darkest just before the Day dawneth" in 1650. It was a proverb even before that.
  21. Personally I think there are far more marginal players to 'dispose of' than Garland.
  22. If Matt Jones is the 38th best player on our list, I doubt we'll be in a 'world of pain'.
  23. We might have to rename this the No T$ no B$ no F$ thread.
  24. I think rpfc would want to analyse and classify the sky on a number of criteria (for example hue, saturation, contrast, depth, air quality) to determine how our sky compares with the sky in 17 other selected regions of Australia. He could tell whether the sky at sunrise was brighter compared to the elite sky overhead, or the sky at sunset, and how much C-grade or D-grade cloud cover could be sustained before the sky stopped looking like sky we expected to have. Then we'd all have to move somewhere else because the sky was never going to look good again.
  25. Reports that the Australian banana crop reached a record 29 million cases for the 2013-2014 financial year, making the banana industry the single largest horticulture industry in Australia. ABC Rural: Record year for bananas no celebration for growers
