  1. Since our aim this year is to rid ourselves of several ball butchers, I cringe at the idea of importing another one.
  2. Thomas Fuller wrote "It is always darkest just before the Day dawneth" in 1650. It was a proverb even before that.
  3. Personally I think there are far more marginal players to 'dispose of' than Garland.
  4. If Matt Jones is the 38th best player on our list, I doubt we'll be in a 'world of pain'.
  5. Richie, the freshly minted Demon

We might have to rename this the No T$ no B$ no F$ thread.
  7. I think rpfc would want to analyse and classify the sky on a number of criteria (for example hue, saturation, contrast, depth, air quality) to determine how our sky compares with the sky in 17 other selected regions of Australia. He could tell whether the sky at sunrise was brighter compared to the elite sky overhead, or the sky at sunset, and how much C-grade or D-grade cloud cover could be sustained before the sky stopped looking like sky we expected to have. Then we'd all have to move somewhere else because the sky was never going to look good again.

Reports that the Australian banana crop reached a record 29 million cases for the 2013-2014 financial year, making the banana industry the single largest horticulture industry in Australia. ABC Rural: Record year for bananas no celebration for growers

Why stop there? We could keep going to 700 pages to honour Mick Malthouse. Or 1360 to honour the number of goals kicked by Lockett. Or 4137 to honour Lindrum's highest-ever billiards break.
  10. Sack the unnamed recruiter Although I reckon the 'un-named recruiter' is just made up.

Some serious education needed. Nine in 10 kids don't know where bananas come from
  12. Agreed. But made less sad by the idea that he might be able to write more good stuff.

Because he is verboten in this thread.

Six Nick Riewoldts. I'd take that.

You could start at the beginning of this thread, read one page a day, and it would take to the start of the 2015 season.

Cripes, he's scored 27 Test centuries, 8000 runs and averages 51. That's elite in anyone's language. I think he's well and truly 'stood up'.

A barrage of hits to the body, medical treatment overnight for the bruises, and not out 161. The very antithesis of 'soft and wimpish'.

Funny how Smith is claiming Mitchell Johnson is taking 'lower order wickets'. He took five of their top seven, including the two openers, in both SAf innings.

Those were the days when wine selection was easy. No such thing as a cabernet sauvignon with aromas of blackberry, wet grass and oak. Just Claret. In a cask or flagon.

We turned the heater on last night.

Funny, Johnson is the only one who hasn't taken a wicket.

A month or two ago on his radio show, Red Symons said he had once briefly met Tom Waterhouse. As part if the discussion, he told Tom he 'never bet on anything'. Tom replied 'you should come and work for me'.
