  1. Petracca had a great game today. Really got involved and threw his weight around. Great to see him switched on for longer periods and staying involved. Hopefully this is the start of his return to damaging form.
  2. One of our biggest weaknesses is on field leadership and organization. We got Lever and May not only for their footballing ability, but because they’re leaders and generals. Great to see May organizing troops and playing well again today. He’ll be a huge asset for the backline for the next few years. Love him!
  3. Would be stoked if we land Anderson. Kid looks like such a damaging prospect. Could be a gun forward, mid or half back IMO. I want him as a damaging goal kicking mid. Pick 2 yes please!
  4. Massive yes from me. He’s pretty much the perfect wingman and exact type of player we are crying out for with his running and kicking skills. Our second round pick will be higher than nearly all others unless we win some pointless games and [censored] it up. I’d throw up our second rounder and hope it’s enough.
  5. Not sure why people are potting Garlett in this thread about our coaching restructure. Garlett facts: - leading club for average goals per game. Will likely win our goal kicking on current form. He’s also the leading goal kicker at the club over the past decade. - leading marks inside 50. Despite being undersized and double teamed, he always works to make an option. - leading tackles inside 50. Defensively he works hardest out of all our forwards to put on pressure and lay tackles. He’s not perfect, but if we’re potting Jeffy, then no other forward on our list is worthy of a game. He currently has the biggest impact out of all our forwards. As for the coaching restructure, its hard to know what to make of it. Rawlings back to MFC can only be good for the club IMO. He’s a proven coach and has had success with us in a variety of roles. Seems the rumblings about Macca have some merit with his change of role. Will we see immediate improvement after the shake up?
  6. https://m.afl.com.au/news/2019-06-18/dogs-resign-pair-of-premiership-pups Close the thread. The dogs have got a good one there. Hopefully Kyle displays similar talent for us!
  7. Would gladly take him as he's proving to be a gun midfielder, but he would cost a first round pick or Brayshaw/Petracca. We're not allowed to trade our first round pick this year. Our top priority should be targeting a forward, not another average paced midfielder. I wouldn't trade Brayshaw for him. Like for like and Brayshaws 2018 showed what he can be for us. I would however trade Petracca for him. Dunkleys 2019 is better than anything Trac has produced to date, and Trac is struggling as a forward. We could cash in before his value drops further, but I don't think this trade would ever happen. Unfortunately I don't see Josh Dunkley coming to us. He's one of the Dogs best players and will get a big pay rise come end of the year.
  8. No [censored] chance. We have been pathetic this year. The best thing that could happen is we finish low, get a good draft pick and the club is forced to review what went horribly wrong and take action. Winning pointless matches for the remainder of the season will just paper over the cracks in our clubs foundations.
  9. Agreed. He’s a real dopey [censored] and [censored] bloke.
  10. Destroyed Grundy today. Have him an absolute bath and we’ll and truly answered the question of who is the best ruckman in the league. As it was last year, Gawn is the best. Keep it up big fella!
  11. Shat me too. Gawn is the reigning All Australian ruckman. Gawn absolutely destroyed Grundy today. Gawn is the number 1 ranked player in the league at the moment according to afl website. The media should give him the respect he deserves as the unarguable and official premier ruckman in the league.
  12. Viney is a shadow of his former self. Take the captaincy off him and make him become a competent footballer before making him lead.
  13. Tmac’s drop in the form must be the biggest drop off in history. I can’t recall a player going from Coleman medal material to VFL reserves standard overnight.
  14. Another embarrassing goalless quarter coming up. Insane how we can go from highest scoring team to lowest scoring team over one offseason. Pathetic that the coaches haven’t sorted it out yet. Can’t win a game if you don’t score!
  15. Great to hear he’s signed on again. We’ve got bugger all tall forwards on our list now, so it’s a relief that Sam’s sticking around. I’m a fan and think he’s got the talent and attributes to be a really good tall forward for us. His form late last year showed that. Keep working hard Weid and the rewards will come!
  16. Exactly the type of player we need, but not at that price. He’s more potential that output, but I’m confident that in a better environment he’d flourish. He’s a serious talent. But st that price, pass. That’s established superstar money, and established superstar he ain’t.
  17. Surprised at the hard negativity in this thread. He would’ve been leading the Swans BnF before injury this year. He has pace and aggression and would be an upgrade on most of our list. He also has versatility. Yes from me if we land him for a second round pick.
  18. If we weren’t [censored] this year we may have hit around 60,000! Happy we cracked 50k and set a new record, but jee it seems like a big waste of momentum.
  19. Not sure where you got those stats from, as Hannan was the only forward to lay less tackles than Spargo (Spargo laid 2, another below average effort). Statistically, Hannan was our only player worse than him, and even he managed to kick a goal. Spargo has only kicked one goal from six matches! For season 2019, Spargo is averaging less than 10 disposals, less than 2 tackles, 1 inside 50, 1 goal assist, and no score per game. He is currently ranked below average in every single stat except uncontested marks, where he is ranked average. Hannan aside, Spargo is the worst ranked player on our list this year. While his stats weren't great in his debut year, he did contribute with more goal assists and brought intensity and energy to the team. This year he isn't contributing, his intensity has disappeared, and he's a liability. We cannot carry a forward who doesn't get the ball, doesn't tackle, and doesn't score. If he retains his spot this week then we are officially tanking. I'm excited to see May come in this round. Hopefully he performs well and starts showing us all why we gave up so much to get him. We need all the onfield leadership we can get, and as a 27 year old former captain I expect him to contribute to our leadership immediately.
  20. Disagree. If Garlett played all year at his current standard he’d bank another 40 goals like he does every season and be our leading goal kicker... again. I’ll take a bloke who hits the scoreboard every week and generates opportunities over a bloke who hits the scoreboard once a month and doesn’t create opportunities. On form, Spargo is the least effective player in the AFL. I was a fan when he was drafted and last year, but this season he has been beyond pathetic. At least Garlett kicked three goals and set two other goals up last night. Spargo needs to add more strings to his bow if he’s going to survive and have a career with us because he’s currently a small forward who doesn’t score, doesn’t tackle and doesn’t find ball. He needs to work on his game at VFL level and cannot be carried anymore.
  21. Hopefully. We need change and heads need to roll. What the club has produced this year is unacceptable on any level.
  22. It’s been over a decade since we’ve had a leader who can stand up and kick goals when they matter. Hell its been over a decade since we’ve had a decent leader .
  23. [censored] HELL SOMEONE STAND UP AND KICK A [censored] GOAL YOU MEAK [censored]
