  1. Get him a fourth rounder and I’m all for it.
  2. Says more about how broken and lost the club is that we can bring in some of the most proven leaders in Roos and Lewis and still be in disarray. Anyway, congrats Jordan on a brilliant career. I hated you as a Hawk, but appreciate that you chose to come to us, and what you brought to our club. You’ve had a better career than any Demon since the 1950s and IMO could become a successful coach.
  3. I was the one who initiated the Ben King thought train back in the trade+draft thread. I still think if we lose Anderson, aka pick 2 gets pushed back to pick 3 due to GC gaining a PP st start of first round, then we attempt to trade pick 3 directly for King. We’d get a decade out of him as a quality KPF. It’s fill one of our biggest holes.
  4. Target Langdon. Much better value financially, cheaper trade option, and 3-4 years younger too. No to Hill, especially at 900k! That’s superstar money, and he’s no superstar, just a good outside player.
  5. Yes. Max is the only one showing any passion for the club. He’s the only one who is giving 100% out there and the only one around the ball trying to organize and inspire his team mates. He’s developed his leadership skills immensely this year. Neither Viney or Jones are natural leaders. Lead by example at times, but neither organize the players and constantly fight for the jumper. Both of them have walked away from on ground conflict this year. A good example was when Max got put down by the opposition in round 1. Viney was right there and just walked off. Harmes was the only one who showed any ounce of fight or comradery. Jones has been the same. Neither should be official on field leaders at our club moving forward. If either are, then we’re not progressing.
  6. Langdon was great again this round. 37 disposals (24 kicks) at 73% efficiency and a huge 852 metres gained (most of any player this round thus far). At this rate he's going to cost us more than originally planned!
  7. I don’t think Brisbane will go all the way, but they have the second youngest list and are top of the ladder. We were similar last year, though not as good as them. Their list is more balanced than ours and they play a better and more modern game style than us. Fagan has done a great job building belief and synergy with that young group. Age is not an excuse and we need to stop accepting it as an excuse. We’ve been hearing it for over a decade now from us and other poor clubs. Clubs need to cut the crap, man up and admit they’re not good enough. You can’t fix something you don’t acknowledge as a problem. So acknowledge it and then make some proper changes to improve. Goodwin saying no wholesale changes needed, just work hard, is a pathetic message to the players and supporters and shows a lack of understanding and ownership.
  8. Can we just forfeit? Literally nothing to play for, win or lose our finishing position is the same. I’m just hoping we don’t get more injuries!
  9. And yet Brisbane are sitting on top of the ladder with the second youngest list. I agree age and experience is obviously a factor, but it’s not an excuse.
  10. He’s usually got good disposal. He has always been poor defensively. Coaches look to go through his man when he plays in the backline, because he is a legitimate liability defensively. It’s not that he doesn’t go or put husbands body on the line, he just usually loses one on ones when he needs to kill a contest. Last night was standard Salem defensively, but unfortunately his disposal was unusually poor so his poor game stands out more.
  11. Not sure if they'd let Whitfield go whatwhatsaywhat. He'd be a great get though. He's pure class on the outside! It's embarrassing how much talent GWS has in their midfield compared to ours ? Imagine having losing Treloar, Adams, Shiel, and Coniglio... and still having Kelly, Ward, Taranto, Hopper, Whitfield, Williams, Caldwell etc coming through. They've really been given an insane amount of concessions compared to Gold Coast. We could only dream of having as much talent in our midfield as they've got/had. I really don't understand why we're not having a serious crack at Coniglio. He's an grade midfielder who is a free agent so cost us nothing in terms of picks. We should be throwing the kitchen sink at him. The only reason we wouldn't is because we [censored] up out salary cap payments and don't have money to go get him.
  12. Tanking. Spargo in at the expense of Hunt is a laugh. Rookie lister Chandler to debut off average vfl form. Best of luck to him, but he hardly banged the door down.
  13. Could be our new AVB! ? He’s going to GWS through academy though, so he’s not an option. As a pure inside ball winner too he’s not really what we need from a list balance perspective.
  14. Langdon is one of the better wingman/outside runners in the game. He’s headed for his second consecutive top 5 in a BnF. He’ll be a big asset to us for the next 7-8 seasons. He’s worth pick 20 and that should be the trade. It’s one of the simplest trades in recent memory. What we have available is pretty much his exact value.
  15. As a player it would be awesome training with your team all summer only to be traded on the eve of season commencing! Another brilliant idea from the AFL! *sarcasm meter has exploded*
  16. This years second round pick. Done deal.
  17. Darcy Fogarty just kicked 5 goals against the Eagles. As I posted a week or two ago here, he should definitely be targeted as a forward marking and goal kicking option. Aggressive, strong, clunks marks, kicks straight, he’s got everything we need as a forward target.
  18. Garry is 100% right in his negative assessment of us. This thread is a shambles. Mods close it down.
  19. Rubbish game. Scoreboard flattered us as we kicked some junktime goals after not giving a yelp for 2.5 quarters. May injured again. Lever destroyed by Mihochek, he’s no good one on one unfortunately. Those two big trades have set us back big time. Looks like another rebuild looms. We need to hit the top end of the draft hard again to get more young talent in.
  20. Beating Collingwoods VFL side would be a good win? The end of the season can’t come soon enough. This run of 3 games at the G should’ve been huge for our exposure and finances and building momentum for our finals campaign. Instead it’s highlighting how low we’ve sunk this year. We’re looking at record low crowds today. Biggest waste of a season in decades.
  21. His son Koby will be a Docker if he's good enough for AFL. He was born in WA, lives in WA, supports the Dockers, and he's already training with them. Interview with Wiz last month was posted in the Koby thread about it and pretty much snuffed out any hope of him pulling on red and blue. Regardless, I loved the Wiz and will be happy to see him again!
  22. If the rumours are true and he wants to return to Victoria ASAP, then they'll lose him next year anyway and have less leverage for a trade as he'll be out of contract. They may bite the bullet if they get a decent offer this year. Drafted at pick 6, trade him for pick 2 a year later. As opposed to draft him at pick 6 and lose him for 10+ next year after investing another year in his development. If the rumours are true, they'd be in their best interests to cash in ASAP. We could be the beneficiary there!
  23. He clearly doesn't want to be there after asking for a trade last season and being denied. He's had a poor year due to this and it shows in those numbers. Go back two years and he kicked 25 goals and averaged 19 disposals. That's essentially Petracca's output, but as an outside version and in a far worse team. Get him out of that basket case environment up there and he would flourish. I still believe he's got the potential to be one, if not the best outside midfielder in the game. Can also play forward and hit the scoreboard (10+ career games with 3 goals or more). If we can land him for a second rounder, I'd say it's well worth the risk. Get it done Dees!
  24. Do we target Ben King as a long term quality KPF? Give up pick 2 and he’s ours (maybe get a later pick back). He’s looked the part in his first year and can play both ends. We’d need to find a first round pick elsewhere to take to draft though if we traded pick 2 for him.
  25. https://www.6pr.com.au/were-not-requesting-a-trade-brad-hill/ In the interview he says his partner is from Melbourne and they may move back to Victoria in future to start a family. He said it's not happening now and the rumours aren't true. He's not asking for a trade and his manager hasn't spoken to anyone but Freo. Usual straight bat stuff, as we're still in the season and he's contracted to Freo for 2 more years. I don't think we'd get both him and Langdon, but one of them may be gettable and a good result as long as no first round pick is involved.
