  1. Same time as the Narrm game at the G?
  2. The entire state is an island.
  3. I favour the club being named Hobart to match cities or suburbs which applies to most clubs. I like the Hobart Islanders.
  4. Good that Harmsey got to play … do we assume then that if a sub plays one quarter or less in his AFL match then he can play in the VFL the next day?
  5. My head tells me that Hawthorn has no show of beating Fremantle in Perth but my heart says otherwise. Still, I remember very well the Sunday evening when Collingwood went over there and upset them in the rain. I think it was the start of the Magpies run and, in all likelihood, the defeat that cost the Dockers a top four berth so here’s hoping.
  6. I wouldn’t treat the Suns in such a cavalier fashion after their win over Richmond yesterday.
  7. Don’t know if we’re still interested. It mentions our interest earlier on but are we still interested in Henry? “The Herald Sun reported in March the Demons were interested in securing Pickett’s good mate Liam Henry from Fremantle, given he was out of contract and out of favour.”
  8. Well … we might know a little more in 2 hours time when the squad is reduced to 22 players plus the 4 emergencies
  9. What’s his jumper number?
  10. It should be added that for much of the time he was at the club, he was in some form of rehab and was unable to really show his wares. Hope he takes up a place at Casey and works his way up through there.
  11. I was driving southbound down Punt Road this morning at around 10 and there was nobody to be seen on the training track over at Goschs Paddock. Does this mean that the club trained elsewhere today?
  12. It’s always been an advantage for a ruckman to be mobile. Nothing new at all.
  13. I really do like this draft and hope that Melbourne can somehow trade it’s way into a better draft position with its second pick to make it even more interesting for us.
  14. That he’s a damned good footballer who would fit into and improve most AFL midfields. Worth a look for Melbourne but I have no definite information that we’re interested.
  15. Heard a whisper about Claremont’s Bailey Rogers who won the Sandover Medal this year. Aged 24 and very talented. Would make a good fit in our midfield - that’s how good he’s supposed to be!
  16. Reckon that Scully character didn’t leave us on the best of terms. I couldn’t give a rat’s about what he thinks about our premiership glory.
  17. We’re being told that the lockdown’s over but there are restrictions and regulations which will continue to apply for some time.
  18. Charlie Constable is one who really has me stumped. He was an All Australian Under 18, a tall midfielder who had a terrific start in 2019. Played in a big game in Round 1 for Geelong vs Collingwood with a win on the G. For his round 2 performance he had 31 disposals and a goal in the Cats’ 80 point smashing of the Dees at GMHBA Stadium. That effort earned him a nomination for the 2019 AFL Rising Star award. From there, his career went backwards and after a 12 game career at the age of 22, he’s been delisted from a club that’s starving for youth. He’s been outstanding at VFL level with big possession games averaging more than 30 disposals a game and getting more than 40 in consecutive games. What’s wrong with him?
  19. Is it just me or what? When I first saw the heading of this thread, I thought it was going to be about the slave trade.
  20. The experts are suggesting that the number of players to be drafted in the main draft will be somewhere between 50 and 60 (leaving aside rookie elevations). The number last year was 59 and with the continuing pressures on finances and list sizes, it’s likely to be less than last year. On that basis, it’s highly unlikely that Moniz-Wakefield would attract a bid in the draft. More likely that if the club wants to take him, it will list M-Z as a Category B rookie which it can do if he goes undrafted.
  21. Depends on what we want out of the draft. Some clubs need points protection to ensure that they can match bids on players (eg Collingwood with Nick Daicos) while others want specific players or player types and the comfort of knowing they’re likely to be available at a particular point in the draft. I suspect we might be after the latter but I have no idea as to who.
  22. East Fremantle 7.13.55 won its Colts final against West Perth 3.8.26 this afternoon. Taj Woewodin didn’t hit the scoreboard but managed 23 disposals (12k, 11h), 8 marks and 5 tackles. He’s consistent!
  23. Max was outstanding as usual and I hope that people support Jimmy’s Reach Foundation - it’s a pity the opportunity to support this worthy cause has been marred by the lockdown. If we would have had a crowd for the MCG game, it would have helped raise much needed funds. As for Connolly, I’d forgotten about his great sense of humour.
  24. Thanks to Kayo
